Eternal War

For millennia the citizens of Heaven and Hell have been at war. Every time one would get a foot hold in power, the other would rise and knock them back down. An ever present struggle, and one that grows with each passing day. Earth, the human realm, is caught unbeknownst in the middle of this war. Each side vying for the servitude and praise of the human species. What happens, however, when a child is born? A child that could either make, or break either side? The war has turned to a different direction now, a more urgent and blood thirsty. Which side will win?

Angels were God's first sapient creations. Naturally, angels are most well-known for their wings. The number of wings varies between the types of angels--which are probably loosely analogous to human races, really--with the seraphim having the most. The Metatron is unique, and in a class of its own. Heaven has a loose hierarchy based on the angelic races.

Their wings are a source of pride for angels, especially after the Rebellion, and they spend a great deal of their time taking care of them. It's very rude to touch an angel's wings without permission--kind of the equivalent of randomly groping a stranger, without the sexual aspect. They do love bonding by preening each other's wings, however, and if an angel trusts you to preen them, they really like you. Most angels are claustrophobic to some extent, and they almost all universally love flying and being outdoors. They can't fly as children--their wings fledge when they enter puberty, and they start to learn how to fly as soon as their adult feathers come in. (Until then they just have fluffy chick down.) Mostly, angels have white wings, though they can have lightly-colored patterning on their feathers. Only seraphim have iridescent wings, and they're VERY proud of them.

Seraphim: Highest ranking, and most powerful of the angels. They have three pairs of wings, totaling in six wings in all. While all angels possess magic, the seraphim use more close combat than magic, mainly relying magic to enhance their fighting capabilities.

Arch Angels: Second in rank. They have two pairs of wings, totaling in four wings in all. The rely on a mixture of magic and close combat, however, usually they favor one or the other depending on personality and preference.

Angels: Lowest in rank. They have one pair of wings, totaling in two wings in all. They rely mostly on magic to fight, staying behind the Seraphim and Arch Angels for support.

All demons can bend shadows to their will, generally using them as camouflage and to disorientate opponents. They can also use them as a form of limited teleportation; how far they can travel through them depends mostly on how powerful the demon is, with Fallen being the strongest.

Fallen: There are original and born Fallen, the originals being the angels that rebelled with Lucifer and the born ones being the offspring of the originals. The main difference between the two is that original Fallen are usually stronger and have wing-scars and the pentagram scar on their forehead. Other than that, they're basically the same beast. Also, Fallen treat their shoulders/backs as a very personal, private part of themselves--it comes from the originals, who view their wing-scars as a mark of shame and painful reminder of what they've lost. To bare your scars to someone is considered a serious sign of trust and vulnerability. The born Fallen mostly have this trained into them from their parents, but they don't always take it as seriously, since they lack the scars to hide. On the other hand, actively attempting to hide your pentagram scar is akin to a sign of open rebellion against Lucifer. They're, as you might imagine, very powerful. Very fast, very strong, and mentally formidable. They usually have an unnatural talent for bending weaker-minded individuals to their whims, and can easily use their power to mentally dominate humans.

Cubi: They are essentially desire demons. They're unique in that they can modify their physical shape at will with very little effort. Most cubi pick a shape and stick with it for a few centuries until they grow bored, but some change their looks constantly or almost never. They almost always use this to their advantage when hunting. They can use it to make themselves into living weapons as well, but cubi prefer to avoid conflict whenever possible. They can pass for other species--usually human--more easily than any other demon, because they have no illusions to disrupt. Short of testing them and finding out they don't have human cells or using their demonic weaknesses against them, there really is no way to be sure a cubi isn't human if they choose to pass as one. They feed from emotion, the most common being: Lust, sorrow, rage, and joy. They have the ability to amplify the emotion in their prey.

Hell is governed by Seven elite demons, mostly fallen:

Lucifer -- Pride -- Lord and Master
Beelzebub -- Gluttony -- 2nd in Command
Leviathan -- Envy -- 3rd in Command
Mammon -- Greed -- General of the Army and 4th in Command
Lilith -- Wrath -- 5th in Command (She is also the first Cubi, also known as the Mother of All Cubi)
Belphagor -- Sloth -- 6th in Command
Amadeus -- Lust -- 7th in Command

Note: Lucifer, Metatron, and Leviathan were the first three angels created, the beta angels as it where. Basically when they all three were in Heaven they were brothers. They are also the most powerful of the angels and demons.
Beelzebub is 2nd in Command in Hell instead of Leviathan because of Beelzebub's complete and utter loyalty to Lucifer.

All demons and angels above are FREE for the taking except Lucifer and Metatron.
You may also be human if you wish since a lot of our time will be on Earth.
All demons and angels have a 'human' form. Now they may have a form that is as grotesque and demonic/angelic as you want.
As for powers, anything is okay for right now, if I believe that something is too powerful I will ask you to revise.

Background: Nothing much is really known about his past life, in fact nothing is really certain about him in the present, he leads many different lives. 

Name: Lucifer Iblis

Rank: Lord and Master of Hell

Abilities: Like all demons he is able to blend in and use shadow to his will. He is telekinetic and cyrokinetic, and can create illusions so life like that he can actually make you believe it is reality.

Background: Lucifer was the very first angel created, and in a sense God's favorite. He was the teacher of the other angels as they were created, and became very close to Metatron and Levithan so much that they were called brothers. As time went on, Lucifer began to feel jealous, and in time that jealousy fueled the greatest historical moment in Heaven--The Rebellion. All in all, what it amounted too was a teenager rebelling against his father. In the end Metatron weakened Lucifer enough so that Micheal could take the final blow.

As punishment, Lucifer--an the 30,000 other angels with him--had their wings ripped out and were sent to Hell. There they mutated to better exist in the primative place, and besides the wing scars have a pentagram in the middle of their forehead. For a time, Lucifer was inconsolable. He had promised his fellow angels something, and in the end lost everything. Finally Leviathan and Beelzebub brought him back onto his feet, and the construction of Hell's cities began.

Now, his only goal is to reclaim what he lost. The Kingdom of Heaven.

Rank: Second in Command in Heaven--The Voice of God

Abilities: Telekinetic and Pyrokinetic, also very good at Healing and other spells.

Background: The second angel created by God, he idolized Lucifer as his older brother. The Rebellion hit hard with him, and he felt even more betrayed by BOTH of his brothers than the other angels. It pained him to fight Lucifer, but being the only one strong enough to do so it was his duty. He was hurt badly in the battle, leaving it up to Micheal to strike the final blow. He stood beside God as the punishment was carried out, and now strives to keep Lucifer in his place no matter how much he longs for his brothers to be by his side once again.

Question what abilities do regular humans have? It is modern world?

Humans can have powers, but they are minor and mainly due to having demonic or angelic ancestry in their bloodline. Their powers are very weak--to angelic and demonic species--but can be considered powerful to humans. Telekinesis, clairvoyance, etc.

There can be more active ones, but you'll have to run it by me. Also I'm going to add this up there as well. -points above-

Abilities: Demon powers are already a given, but there's more to this particular Cubi than meets the eye. Felicia feeds on the joy of life, of precious memories, of the warmth of love; which is why she is full of vitality. This she uses in her magic to heal afflictions on humans, angels and demons alike. It is marginally less effective on angels, but she can still close their wounds and provide relief to ailments. However, this magic also has its uses in a fight; this vitality can gives her the ability to provide various buffs to herself or others, like increased strength, heightened agility, enhanced senses, and regeneration. However, the more she uses his vitality, the weaker she gets, and using magic quickly burns through her stores. When she runs out of his stored vitality, she will use his own life force to fuel the magic. Using life force makes her spells vastly stronger, enough to rival a high-ranking demon or angel, but will cost her a great portion of her life. Felicia would have to succumb to her base demonic desires to replenish it, something she doesn't want to do even at the cost of her life.

When Felicia doesn't use magic, she relies on her little trinkets to get her through the day. That pouch of hers contains tiny marbles with a bit of her vitality imbued in them. On impact, the marbles produce an explosion similar to a firework. One marble doesn't do much, but a handful can quickly become a pain. Her boots are also inscribed with runes, hewn into it by red thread. These runes store kinetic energy every time she moves her legs. When fully charged, a kick powered by the stored energy can blast through a steel wall. At the same time, she can easily clear a seven-storey building with a single jump. Or she could slowly release the energy, giving her an increased boost in any action involving the legs - kicking, running, jumping.

Background: Succubus are always feared as desire demons, feeding on the emotions of human beings, sucking them dry before moving on to the next victim. These wretched beings are split into noble families that spread their influence on the surface world, rooting their corruption into mortal society and rotting it from within. The families themselves take the form of very common organizations in the real world, such as fitness clubs, corporations, and even the mafia. Their presence is most strongly felt in the city of sin, Las Vegas, where rich men waste their money away to satiate their flesh. Cubi are a powerful, cunning and secretive bunch... although they do have their ups and downs. Just like in every other family, there is that one person who acts completely differently from all the others; a black sheep, so to speak.

Felicia Ignacia de Lucilius is the black sheep of the entire Cubi family.

Cubi who feed on joyful emotions are already rare. Rarer still are those who fight to control their demonic hunger and impulses. As far as the Cubi are concerned, Felicia is the only one who fits the bill. No matter how much they tried to poke her towards the dark side of the family business with FHM, pr0n sites and stripper parties, she wouldn't relent, preferring to hang out with the kids after school and play in the arcade or sing at the karaoke with her girlfriends. The is the reason why she was banished from the family and left alone to die in the middle of a great war between Heaven and Hell.

But she was resilient as well as resourceful. She began her journey as a simple beggar on the streets of Las Vegas, occasionally doing odd jobs for those who need it, most of the time for free. This quickly gained her the respect and adoration from the locals. Sometimes people from her family - disguised as 'talent agents' - would come to her and invite her back to the fold. The same locals would drive them away from her, no doubt empowered by the bright aura she radiated and the joy she brought to other people. Later on she would discover that it was her own powers as Cubi that amplified the warmth and joy in people, causing them to be fiercely protective of her. Of course, at that time she has learned to control her aura more properly, to spread it out or focus it as she sees fit.

Eventually she managed to earn enough money and support to... Guess. I dare you to guess. Build her own house? Start a business? Invest in companies? No, she used the funds to make an orphanage for the street children living in the city's alleyways. Children are always a good source of laughter and love, and she can keep herself fed just by being around them and giving them some good, caring love, so long as she doesn't let herself go wild and go pedobear on a kid. In many ways, owning and managing the orphanage helps her in so many ways. As mentioned before, it's a good energy source. Second, she likes having wholesome fun with children. Third, it's a slap in the face against the family who shunned her. And lastly, it's a good way for her to achieve her goals, to go against her demonic nature and seek redemption.

She couldn't care less for the great war between Heaven and Hell, unless it shows itself at her doorstep. Only then will she rise up and bare her fangs, in order to protect the orphanage and the children within.

Name: Leviathan

Abilities: hydrokinesis (water/ice manipulation); mind control/persuasion; the usual demon powers of controlling shadows and darkness

Background: Leviathan was the third angel created and was very close with Lucifer and Metatron. Along with Lucifer, he became jealous and wanted more, rebelling against God and the Angels. Gabriel defeated him in battle and took his wings and he was sent to Hell with Lucifer and the 30,000 others. Even though he is among Lucifer's most trusted, he has his own plans and desires, therefore Beelzebub is closer with Lucifer. Leviathan envies that relationship, feeling that Beelzebub has taken his place next to Lucifer. Leviathan enjoys trying to undermine Beelzebub, often conspiring with Lilith against him, using her own envious feelings about Beelzebub to his benefit.

Abilities: Empathy (sense and manipulate emotions); dream manipulation; basic healing abilities (nothing life threatening or terminal)

Background: Michael had looked to the first three Angels (Metatron, Lucifer, and Leviathan) for guidance and leadership. It had hurt him greatly when Lucifer and Leviathan had turned against them, betraying their creator. He'd taken the final blow against Lucifer after Metatron had weakened him. It had nearly killed him, but it had also hardened him for future battles against the Fallen. As the Angel representing kindness, deception by those trusted is the ultimate betrayal and he struggles to forgive Lucifer and Leviathan for their rebellion. He is a fierce warrior and trains daily to fight the demons and keep them from finding the child. He is utterly devoted to Metatron and follows his orders to the letter, though he does not wish as Metatron does, that Lucifer and Leviathan could return to Heaven.
