What dictates...
Moviment,metabolism,presence of oxigen,carbon,nitrogen,energy,response to stimulus,conscience,religion?
Or would it be unavoidable death?
Let me know what you guys think before saying more myself.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking with this. Are you asking what we think life is and giving examples of what might be? Or are you asking what we think dictates those particular things in life?
Re: What dictates...
*edit* .. woah, woah. Let's not listen to old me. She was too much of an optimist.

Re: What dictates...
I mean more as: what should be the preset to affirm if something has life or not,but I get your points.
Pachi: We do,sometimes dozens of them, not only that, but unconsciously our brain decides what shall be considered and what isn't worth it,stimulus like musics,vision,taste,smells...we filter it more than you can imagine. But getting back to your point, subconsciously "we" also "decide" what is the best either in a individual or wide range, using as source our culture (as whole, from religion to influences),society (also applying culture here) and to what we need to survive and carry on the especies and our genetic information.

Re: What dictates...
Hmm i'll have to think about it a little then. Not sure how exactly to explain it at the moment.
Re: What dictates...
Well I suppose that depends largely on what you view as life. If you are talking about simply being a living creature or the more complex societal term of having a 'life'. Mostly though I suppose it varies for each person, after all it's one of the questions that people are attempting to define EX:Abortion.
Then of course I suppose you could get into what are the bare minimums for life, and does something that doesn't have certain characteristics any less alive that another that does. That also depends largely on personal/societal perspective.
Though I applaud you posing a largely philosophical and intellectual question the way you did, sometimes it's best when asking to phrase things in such a way that the target audience can understand you. You are after all asking their opinion, and asking it too ambiguously can lead to confusion or to some degree of annoyance if they think you're being smart and convoluted on purpose.
I'll probably think about the question some over the next few hours and days. Perhaps I'll get back to it, if my existence doesn't get bogged down with various duties and responsibilities, or if I don't become distracted with something else.
