Halloween Scene Writing Contest Entry
The moon was full and beautiful tonight. My eyes sparkled as I gazed at it. A wave of anxiety hit me like a ripple of water. Soon it would take me, and change me. This time I won't fight it. I breathed deeply, the cool autumn air felt nice against my face. I stood in complete silence that was broken by a gust of wind. The trees threatened to snap, as their branches crashed about. Still looking up at the moon, I blinked my eyes shut. At that very moment a force stronger than my world took over once again. I collapsed onto the cold cement that gave me a jolt and I curled into a tight ball. I let out a pained scream; my bones felt as if they were being broken. This feeling of suffering was too familiar. I forced one eye open, hoping it was not her, but it was, the same frightening yet lovely woman that comes for me this same time every year.
With her long white hair that curls at it's ends and her pale face she looks unworldly. Her lips are a blood red and her eyes an icy blue that frightens me. Without a word, she took my hand and kissed it, sending warmth that spread through my veins. The pain was gone. Is she taking pity on me, or does she know of my surrender? I softy closed my eyes and relaxed, drifting out of consciousness. When I awoke it was the dawn of Halloween. I knew what had become of me. And as badly as I wanted to deny I couldn't ignore what was true. I stood up on all fours and grunted; the mistress that had mystified me in my past, had yet again turned me into a werewolf. This, I had accepted. But, it was not me and I'd never see it to be so. Tomorrow I'd say farewell to today. I whispered, "Until we meet again, my dreadful beauty."

- affort? effort. :
I'm taking an art class! I've been in it for a week now and we've only gotten to establishing what we know, and scratching the surface on artists like Salvador Dali and Albrecht Durer. We haven't drawn anything in class yet, but we're starting tomorrow. I'll be using this page as I progress through the year. I'm also taking a film class I'll post short films that I eventually shoot here too.

Looking good! I like your use of shading matching the contours of the shape. I also like the composition of shapes! If I had any pointers, I'd say you either need a less medium light source, or to darken your shading a little. I'm having trouble discerning where the light source is coming from.
Also, if you're looking for a little extra curricular work to augment your drawing practice: http://drawabox.com/
Good luck and keep at it! You're on the right track! ^_^

Thanks so much venom I was outside under an umbrella, that didn't seem to block any sun, so the light source was confusing. I'll be practicing.
Re: pachirisu's art
Interesting poses! If you'd like a site for practicing poses and expressions, I have two:
http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/
http://www.quickposes.com/
Both are really good. I find myself going more to the second one for facial expressions, and also because if you put in your email address, he also keeps track of how much time you've put in and when you've put in a certain amount of time, he'll give you a certificate! Not really worth anything, but it's an acknowledgement of your efforts, so that has value to me.
Try doing quick poses; At least 5 1-2 min per poses/facial expressions expressions to help develop your ability to render what you see quickly. The more you practice the better you'll get at it. Keep drawing. ^_^

Somehow missed this, probably from when I cleared cookies, but that's awesome pachi ! Keep on going ;D. Also venom, these links look pretty cool, I'm thinking on finding more time to draw after I move, I think I'll make use of these ;D.
