Drusus sped along the sea bed looking for any crabs resting in the sand. He carried a small net with him which slowed his pace, but it didn't have much effect. Every so often, Drusus grabbed a crab out of the sand and threw it into his net. He devised a way to do it where he could bag crabs without having to stop swimming. That way, he would be constantly on the move, digging up crab after crab. Other Mer-folk were swimming along side him, picking up food as well. Today was one of the many harvesting days, and harvest was...okay at best.

By the end of the catching, the group only managed to get enough crabs to feed 3 quarters of the colony. For some reason, the crabs haven't been as abundant as they used to. Drusus was secretly worried about the well-being of the colony, but he never showed it. If harvest goes on like this, it will be more and more difficult to feed the entire clan. Drusus hoped they could at least gain some revenue from trade. Maybe they could buy some extra food from neighboring groups.

Drusus sat at the edge of the water when one of friends showed up. He told Drusus that the colony leader wanted to speak with him. Drusus wasn't sure of what needed to be told to him, but he nodded and walked to the center of the town where all of the higher-class citizens lived. He entered casually, looking directly at the leader. "You wanted to see me, sir?" He asked.

"Drusus, I want you and 3 others to take our trading goods to the Dark Nation. We need extra income to pay for food, and the Dark Nation has plenty of markets and auction houses." The superior replied. Drusus had a feeling it would eventually come to this even though he hoped it wouldn't. "The three Mer-folk you will be traveling with are already at the bay, ready to begin the voyage. Since...we don't have the money to buy a ship, you all will be swimming to your destination."

"Really now?" Drusus commented. He never imagined swimming all the way to another nation. He's never been outside of his homeland. While the trip could provide knowledge of the outside world and maybe some extra cash, it could be dangerous. The leader was already one step ahead. "I'm sure you're thinking about the dangers of this voyage, that's why I picked you and your comrades. Not only are you all excellent swimmers, but you're all good fighters as well. Also, you will be fitted with light weaponry in case things get out of hand. You may meet the others when you're ready." With that, Drusus bowed and made his way to the bay.
