The group approaches the castle. The crowds are nearing impossible to navigate through. “Everyone hold on to the person in front, we will make a chain.” It takes a while, but they are standing just outside the doors.

A pair of guards sees them try to enter. “Halt by order of the Water Lord. Sorry, but due to the activities we cannot let you through.”

The second guard canvases the group, lowering his Lance. “Sir, take a close look.”

The first guard looks closely at the group, his eyes lingering on Ares. “Majesty, forgive me I was not told to expect you. Come in, you and your entourage.”

Xander could not have been more relieved. He leans to Ares. “Just play along, you are our ticket in.”

Ares followed the group through the crowd, though it started to become difficult as the crowd became denser and denser. He grabbed Roxanne's arm to make sure she didn't get lost and stayed close behind Xander.

They made it to the castle and it seemed the guards weren't going to let them in. Ares eyed up the castle, looking to see if there was anywhere they could sneak in. However, he looked back at the guards when one of them called him "Majesty".

He smiled, glad that it was so easy to mistake him for his brother. "Yes, well, here we are. Try to be better informed next time."

He walked past the guards, leading the rest of the group and trying to look regal.

Rensaku looked around, he had came up with an idea on how he was going to make his escape, it would be a rather tideous plan from the start be he should try to fool his dad into buying in to him giving up. He was going to use the good people of the land to get him out. "Hey dad, if you don't mind im going to keep the guests outside from being bord." He bows then heads out the the door looking for the room that held the door most people so he could gain attention gather a crowed to his locaton. Finaly he goes incognito and moves out. He was here now, he just needed to make himself known. He removes his hood revealing himself as the prince. He begin to perform, bending a glob of water and moving it around him in a sphear.

A guard approaches the team. “Follow me I will take you to the meeting.” He looks over at the rest of the group. “If you like I can have someone show your entourage to their quarters, Majesty.”

Xander looks slyly at Ares. “I prefer to stay with Milord, for His safety. However I will let the others decide what to do.”

Another guard approaches Baren. “Sorry only the Lord and their escorts are allowed to enter. You must wait outside.” It seems that his decision at the gate caught up with him after all.

The door opens widely and they are escorted to a large conference room. “Lord Aron, of the Fire Nation, along with his guards.” He announces loudly.

Xander watches the reactions of the other lords seated at the opposite end of the room.

Roxanne was glad not to get lost in the dense crowd, but she became a bit worried when the guards wouldn't let the group in. She began to think up a good story to tell the guards, but she stopped when, fortunately, Ares was mistaken for his brother.

Things seemed to be going smoothly, until Baren wasn't allowed inside as a result of his tourist guise. Roxanne hoped that nothing would happen to him while he was by himself. But she knew he was a pretty resourceful guy, maybe even resourceful enough to find a way to help from outside.

As Roxanne walked into the conference room, she tried to appear as a confident person of status. Along with Xander, she was introduced as a guard; she wondered who would buy that just from looking at her. She looked at the lords across the room, waiting to see what they'd say.

As the group enters, the Lords all look across, surprise on their faces. They clearly had not expect Lord Aron to show up, especially by their quick movements to stand and evaluate one of their new Nation leaders.

"Lord Aron," The Water Lord greets, "I don't believe we have met. Nor did I expect you, so I hope you'll forgive the lack of an additional chair."

He gestures with his fingers and another chair is placed down for Aron so that he may be seated. He completely ignores the guards, but he notices their odd appearance and points to a table in the far corner where less accommodating comforts can be seen, as well as less appealing foods.

"How are you, Lord Aron?" The Mezzo Lord asks slyly, "How do you like your new throne?"

"Better yet, perhaps you can interest us in the explanation as to what exactly happened to the previous Lord." The Water Lord asks cooly and rudely, "We haven't been properly briefed. Your brother, it would seem, has been quite vague."

As Ares entered the room, he found all eyes were on him. It was a bit terrifying at first and his mind went completely blank, but he had to keep his wits about him. The lords were just a bunch snakes, waiting for their chance to strike. He didn't plan on giving them one.

He glared at them all and took the seat that was placed. "Well, since the rest of you are here I figured I should come too, no?"

My Lords, have you no manners? We are both still grieving our poor departed father. It was a shock to have him taken from us so suddenly. He was murdered; the perpetrator was very skilled as we have yet to find him."

Ares was glad that he had spent time listening to the nobles talk and imitating them, he hoped he sounded convincing. Of course, the one thing that would trip him up would be if they gave him something to read. He hoped that wouldn't happen.

Xander was not happy with being shoved in the corner. He grabs some of the food keeping a keen eye on Ares. He was not expecting this at all and has not trained the kid at all. He stands up from the “guards” table keeping tabs on the conversation.

He was shocked when the Water Lord mentioned his brother. How did they know about the twin? Unless the Fire Lord had notified them ahead of time, but then why did the guards mistaken him? His question made Xander a bit nervous.

He had no reason to be though; Ares handled the question with the grace of a noble. Xander sighed in relief he passed the first test, now for the next one.

Roxanne was a bit relieved that nobody questioned her as she went to the table in the corner with Xander. She sat down and turned toward the group of lords, listening to their conversation. She was supposed to be a guard, so looking attentive was probably a good idea. Roxanne was also worried about Ares; hopefully he would be able to pull this off.

Ares handled the questions very well, thankfully. Roxanne hoped he would be able to keep it up. She listened to the last question the lords asked, and knew it would be important. Just thinking about what would happen in their cover was blown made her cringe.

Xander is relieved by the Lord’s reactions. The Mezzo Lord seems to suspect something, but hasn’t said anything outright. However at this point a little bit of doubt is a not good. As the asshole questions Ares, he only hopes that Ares can convince him.

Xander takes a moment to look around. He knows this place by heart. He looks over and sees Roxanne paying attention as well. He pokes her arm. “Look up, see the guards, there…there….there….and there.” He points at them as he speaks. “They are skilled snipers, and those are the ones we can see. You can bet they are doubled up there.”

He looks back at Ares. “Stay vague and short, majesty. Do not offer any information unless asked.” He whispers to himself.

The lords made Ares angry. He wanted to draw his sword and kill them all on the spot. It was so tempting, just end it all here. But he knew it would mean his death, as well as Xander's and Roxanne's, and he couldn't leave his brother alone and let them die.

Ares looked the Mezzo Lord in the eye defiantly. "I only just heard of this meeting recently, and not from any of you. How am I supposed to know what it's for?"

[ATTN: Lords, all]

Ares looked at the Water Lord. What he said made sense, though there was no way for him to know whether it was true. His brother would know, since he had actually lived in the castle all his life. Ares had no choice but to go along with them, because calling bullshit and being wrong would only make matters worse.

"I see. I apologize for my outburst," Ares said. "Now please, tell me what this meeting is for."

{Attn: All}

Now Xander knows something is up. Yes the Water Lord is right, partially. For when the Lord is not present, his diplomatic advisor fills in for him. And if the rotation is right, it should be the Mezzo's turn to be left out. He was about to call bullshit on them when Ares spoke up. Xander smiles in appreciation, good job Ares way to think on your feet. He may make a good Lord yet.

Ares' mind raced; how would he respond to the Mezzo Lord? He didn't know how much Aron would know, how much the Fire Lord would have told him. Maybe the best way to go about this was to act like he knew little.

"I have not had much contact with the Overseer, I'm afraid," Ares said. "My father did not inform me much of their meetings. What is this evidence you speak of?"

Ares tried not to make a face when the scrolls were placed before him. He looked through each of them, feigning interest when he had not even the slightest clue what was written on them. He didn't know what kind of dirt they'd dug up on the Overseer, but he'd just have to play along with whatever they said.

He looked up when the Earth Lord spoke and nodded. "He seems to be very unpredictable and erratic. You're right, he should keep us all better informed."

That was something he knew from experience more than anything. The guy was all over the place and no one could keep up with what he was planning.

"He seems to have his own agenda that he's keeping from us."

Damn, Damn, Damn Xander curses internally. Ares what are you doing? Either he is being really stupid or really smart. He wishes he could read the scrolls, but knows that he would need the Lord's permission first. None of them recognized him for who he is. Which is odd, it would be helpful to be in his diplomatic role right now. It is killing him to be a bystander.
