Perdidit In Purgatorium

Several people wake up to find themselves in an unknown place. All people--unless I give permission otherwise--will wake at the same spot. You might know each other, you might not, it is up to you. Nothing will have changed on their person, they will be exactly the same. The world that have awoke to is dark and dreary, fog blocks their vision from their surroundings, but something is vaguely familiar.

It is cold, and silent. The inhabitants that they will encounter are all, pale--almost grey toned--, black to white hair, and grey to black eyes. They will not speak to you, and in fact will run to lock themselves into their houses. As you walk and attempt to figure out what is happening, one woman will approach you, she will be hard to understand. She will warn you, and attempt to get you to follow her.

Some of you can be against it, while others what to follow her. The more you guys argue the more nervous she is going to get. You hear a screech suddenly in the distance, and she screams and tells you to run. In the distance you see a figure of a man coming towards you. Cloaked in black with a viscous, and creepy looking scythe.

ONE of you will die. If someone wants to volunteer to make a character to die, that will be fine, if not I will.

After the beginning, points above, there will be complete free play. Look around, ask questions. If you'd like to run into the killer outside of the plot let me know and I will accommodate.

Through out you will learn about different creatures that live there: Demons and Spirits.
I will give hints about each one, but will never outright tell you what they are. That is for you to decided, debate amongst each other, and see if you are right.

You will also find out why you are there. Then you will begin to try and figure out how to get back.

At the end there will be a huge battle between who is evil and who is good. By that point you will have made your decisions, and chose your sides. At that point I will tell who is right, give you the option of choose if you so desire, and then commence with the battle.

The man is what haunts this world. He is known as Lux Vexillifer. You'll find out what it means later on--and no translating for those whom knows what it is already.

There are rules to his killing, however. Once he has a target in his sight, he will ask challenge or defeat.
If you can say challenge, he asks you a series of questions. If you can answer correctly, you live if not, well...
Defeat is just plain death.
If you don't answer at all, or try to run, again death.

I know this is kinda vague, BUT the rest you will have to pay attention to figure out.

Things to look for:

Who is the true evil?
Demons, and spirits.
Who is who?
Where you are.

Application:
EVERYONE IS HUMAN. However as time goes on I will be PMing each of you an ability that you aquire. You can have as many characters that you can HANDLE.

If you are Awoken, then you are one of the several that have just woken up in this place. You won't know how you go there, but you will remember everything about your life EXCEPT how you have gotten there. The last memory you will have is a normal activity, ex: walking the dog, riding a bike, etc.

If you are an Inhabitant, you have always been there. Some of you will have been born there, others...well other have just...been there. (Will inbox you more details depending on what you choose.)

Personality: She is soft spoken, and very kind. Her main goal in life is to protect the people in her life. She has no recoltection of her childhood, and when asked how she got to her home she replies with. "Just here."
She speaks in third person, and is sometimes hard to understand. She is known as Inventorem by the other inhabitants, and rarely is spoken too by them.

Personality: She is hotheaded, but at the same time caring. She'll stand up to anyone no matter their size, mostly because she does have a secret. She is a black belt in martial arts. Her job is teaching others her skill.

Personality: He is very quiet, rarely speaking to anyone first. When he does speak, his voice is soft and calming. He is very polite, and always willing to help if the need arises. He is the only one that speaks with Sarah on a daily basis, and is quite fond of her. While there are whispers about their relationship it is strictly friendship, with more of a brother/sister to it.

Personality: Not much is known about him. He only is seen during the night, and during that time most are too busy running from him to ask any questions.

Personality: Emma is outgoing, generally positive, and friendly. She is single, an only child, and close with her parents. Emma lives in San Francisco and is an elementary school teacher.

Personality: Adreana is very selfish and self serving. She is generally rude to everyone, especially Sarah. She would just as soon sacrifice someone else for her own safety.

Personality: Vivaric is a snobby baseball star, known for his hitting and his exceptional base-stealing. He is VERY self-appreciating and is also quite appreciative of others, noting that everyone deserves a yes moment in their lives. That's not to say he's not a truthful person, he's VERY truthful, but he likes to MASK his truth in a velvety coating.

Personality: Penelope is a college about to graduate with a degree in business finance. Her family owns a chain of restaurants, but she is not a cook. She likes the business aspect of the restaurant more. She gets decent grades, and has a boyfriend of about 6 months. She is not active is sports, works full time in the family business.

Pure white, even past the color of albinism in his skin, eyes(even the pupils) and his long hair, and usually wears an open white shirt and trousers, and white sandles. Can blend into the fog from just a few feet.
Personality:
As his name says, he is always open and sincere in everything he says, and is naturally very curious. He fishes at a nearby lake to the town, where he owns his own boat. He has always wanted to meet this Lux Vexillifer because no one knows anything about him., but he has always, by the worst of luck, either been asleep or away from town when Lux Vexillifer visits

Personality: Edward is a quiet man, although he is quite nice and knows about every one in the purgatorium, he is witty and sometimes sarcastic.

Personality: Alistair is calm and softspoken. However he also seems a bit odd; he seldom gives consistent answers and is a pathological liar. There's also something vaguely unsettling about the gentle half smile he often has on his face. As a pharmacist, he's very knowledgable about about chemicals, perhaps even a bit too knowledgable.
