RPM: Rights, Rules, Regulations Empty RPM: Rights, Rules, Regulations

Post by JerriLeah7 5th July 2013, 10:40 am

I will begin with saying that an RPM is a role-play Maker/Creator.  If at any point you decide to become a RPM for a role-play here on GtR, feel free.  You have full rights to do so at any time.  Now, when pondering whether or not you want to start a role-play, there are a few things you will want to remember:

  • You have the right to refuse, kick, or accept any member into your role-play.

  • You have the right to determine the rules of your role-play, unless they inhibit or clash with forum rules. The role-play Guidelines are optional in your own RP, however.

  • You are to be respected, as are your rules and expectations within the realm and threads of any role-play that you create.

  • You have the right, should a member not follow RP rules, to either kick this member from your RP or to notify a staff member to enforce said rule(s) of your role-play.

  • You must read the Forum Rules and Role-Play Guidelines before beginning any role-play.  If rules are violated, your role-play will be shut down and deleted.

  • When creating a role-play, you should keep the following information in mind:

RP Forum Layout Explanation:
(Each RP should have one of these sections included by the RPM)

Role-Playing Registration
- This is where you will view/post a base plot, expectations, rules, and set up by the RPM for a role play. You will post your OC/chosen Character for the role play here to make sure that it is acceptable for the RP.

Role-Playing Discussion - This is where you will view/post any questions, explanations, or any other kind of discussion about an RP.  Feel free to read this thread before asking a RPM your own question, because it might have been asked already.

Role-Playing Grounds - This is where you will view/post the actual role play IN character, which will include the RPM's Intro Post and all RP member's posts and so on.

Foul Language/RP Rating:

The RPM should mention in their registration or discussion whether or not they want foul language allowed and if they will be accepting it moderately, or not at all.  When this happens, all participants are required to keep the language to the RPM's preference at all times.  If you are asked to change your posts due to foul language, please do so.

If you do not like foul language, don't join a role-play that has it in there.  Simple as that.  Don't ask an RPM to change their rules for you, because they are the RPM and they are the one running the RP.  You can always find out what language is allowed in an RP by checking the RP Directory.

**RPM's:  Rate your RP's!  Let people know if there will be a lot of gore or violence--please mention and rate how bad your RP may be.  We always need to respect the preferences of those around us and that includes their language and violence/gore exposure.  And of course--no porn.  Innuendos and alluding to sexual contact/intercourse is fine, but should be and will be carefully watched by moderators.  Thank you.**

Hey just a quick question. How can we rate the rp as far as rating it? Would we rate it something similar to movies like rated pg pg 13 and so on? Or something like this rp will have blood and gore and so on?

It is wise to give specifics, but movie ratings can be involved. It's up to the RPM, really.

RPM's are not obligated to explain why they are in the any status or state, but members can always ask an RPM or RPH in the discussions thread for the role-play they are participating in.

The 'the' before 'any' should be removed. (I think.)

The RPM: Rights, Rules, & Regulations have been updated.

Specifically, the issue regarding the flexibility of RP Guideline changes for RPM's in their own role-play.

Thank you for keeping up with the changes!
