The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time Empty Re: The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time

Post by JerriLeah7 25th April 2017, 7:33 pm

World Name:  Rynara

World Age:  7.3 Billion GE Years

World to Earth Comparison:
Similarities
Suns
Weather Patterns
Biomes
Ocean to Land Ratio

Significant Differences
Flora & Fauna
Continent Shapes
No Moon (No evolutionary night-vision)
Planetary Debris Ring (Saturn's Ring)
Lack of Oceanic Tide Forces

Appearance: Vaguely Earth-like

Biomes:
Rynara's sun and biomes are very similar to Earth's with only minor differences in the sun's hue and weather patterns for the largest surface area of the planet.  However, there is one additional biome that is not similar to Earth's at all, which is called "Farrae" (Far - eye).  Farrae is actually the name of a neon blue and black, vine-like fungus that inhabits portions of the planet.  Farrae sustains itself by devouring other organic life and through photosynthesis.  This fungus would have completely devoured the planet of Rynara if it weren't for the sentient species that lives within it.  Farrae does not feed on living organisms, but will devour the dead.  Additionally, it does release blue, glowing spore pods into the air that can be inhaled.  When inhaled by most creatures, the spores germinate inside the host's body for a period of several months and the fungus begins to take root into the creature's central nervous system, turning them into zombie-like creatures that return to the biome to die.

World Humanoid Species:
Rynarian--  (Ri-nar-ee-un) Rynarians are very humanoid-like creatures that consist of the same bodily systems as homo sapiens (muscular, skeletal, nervous, etc.).  They have four fingers and toes on each limb, rather than five, as well as have pointed "Elven" ears.  Their nervous system is almost identical with a few pattern changes in certain locations (primarily the neck and chest), but their skeletal system has a few noticeable differences, as well.  Due to an increased height in torso, Rynarians have an additional rib on each side of their rib cage, as well as one additional heart that does not function unless the first heart becomes damaged and one additional stomach.

Additionally, their hair color is always any hue(s) of blue, with the exception of their version of an "albino" Rynarian, which have hues of red hair.  Their skin colors vary as much as ours do, but they do not have "ethnic" physical changes (such as varied eye shapes or eye-color limitations) or cultural variations.  Rynarians have three genders, the male, female-alpha, and the female-omega. Female-alphas are able to breed and give birth, whereas female-omegas are genetically stronger and sturdier (on average) and cannot breed. The average Rynarian's height (in Earth measurements) is 5'5-6'0ft tall among females (omega and alpha) and 6'0ft to 7'0ft tall among males.

Rynarian:

Riddelus-- (Ri-dell-us) The Ridellus are a species that loosely resemble humanoids and grow tentacles out of their back to paralyze prey and then feed on them.  Although their diet resembles largely like that of homo sapiens and Rynarians, their main dietary staple is to devour the Farrae, to which they are immune.  The Farrae and Riddelus relationship is symbiotic in nature and keep each other sustained.  They are unaffected by the spores due to the fact that they breath through their skin, similar to amphibians.  These creatures do not have "faces" as the Rynarian do: No eyes, nose, or ears.  Additionally, the are significantly thin in comparison to humans and rather than bones, they support an intricate web of flexible cartilage throughout their body.

These people do not have genders, breeding through asexual reproduction when desired.  Riddelus are highly intelligent, psychic creatures that use their minds to see and speak to others.  They have no language of their own and can speak to any creature using its own language.  They do not hear, but rather feel vibrations through the planet and air with their skin.  Due to this, their "touch" sense is far more sensitive than that of a Rynarian or homo sapien.  They are susceptible, however, to sonic waves and sounds, which can easily overwhelm, especially in their resting state.

Despite their intelligence and ability to communicate, they do not possess high levels of science or engineering.  Rather, they form more of a sustained culture where they choose to rely on the Forrae and the natural life around them for living.  Due to basically living in sonar, their ability to apply learned scientific principles is limited.  When it comes to matters requiring advanced technology or science, they often go to the Rynarian for support and trade.  They do, however, possess psychic powers, such as telekinesis, telepathy, levitation/flight, and so on.  The average height (in human measurements) is 11'0ft - 12'0ft tall and their tentacles can be up to thirty feet long.

Riddelus:

Additional Info:  None at this time.

The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time Empty Re: The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time

Post by JulietHasAGun 12th May 2017, 10:56 pm

World Name: Eden (Same Galaxy as Rynara)

World Age: 7.3 billion years, though the port itself was built within the last few thousand years.

World to Earth Comparison: A space port, no natural day/night cycle, no natural fauna.

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Biomes: Similar solar system to that of the Milky Way, Eden does not possess any natural flora or fauna as it is a man made space port.

World Humanoid Species:

The Vorn

An Early Vorn Attempt At Constructing A Human Shape:

A bipedal alien species. The Vorn are a chameleon people their physical body being made of what appears to most species to be blood like-visceria. They have five 'tendrils' in the place of fingers they can use similarly to human hands, and can 'talk' by mimicking the voice of those they have met. Despite this description the Vorn work well alongside other alien races, their increased adaptability and access to a hive mind being considered assets in a team based enviorment. The physiology of each individual Vorn varies by their 'purpose'. Vorn who have tailored themselves to combat might gestate an additional heart, or additional muscle mass. The Vorn are also unique in the sense that they can self 'incubate' different organs. Most hospitals have taken full advantage of the Vorn's incubation process, and willingness to help the many for the sake of the greater good. When Vorn first made contact with the other colonizing species of the cluster, their only desire was to learn and be able to gain individuality from the other, unique, races. However, some of the hesitations of the other species, namely the Kranit, led to a brief, bloody war with the Vorn, from which there was no true 'winner'.

The war only came to a ceasefire when the similar chameleon species, the Altus, intervened, and said they could telepathically link two ambassadors from either side to communicate.

This put an end to a brief but bloody war which would have put both sides in ruin. As such, the Vorn as a collective are grateful to the Altus, and can be frequently seen in their company.

In combat, and in day to day, the Vorn can be seen wearing 'exo suits' which they rarely emerge from, as they have learned their physical appearance might be off putting to some. More evolved Vorn can shape shift and grow human skin to be more palatable to the other races of the galaxy. Early attempts at this resulted in them creating human 'masks' over the viscera which never moved quite correctly, to the discomfort of all involved.

Vorn heights vary greatly depending on their intended evolution and purpose. The tallest recorded Vorn stood just under eight feet.

The Altus

Spoiler:

The Altus are a monogendered, chameleon species. Capable of assuming another aliens form just based on touch alone. Their 'true' forms are that of a humanoid, tall, skeletal creature. They possess no body hair, and their eyes are large and black. They grow 'plumage' instead, and they are capable of growing webbed 'wings' under their arms; their original evolutionary purpose is unknown, but they are currently a sign of status among the Altus hierarchy. Their skin is a light beige color, though some Altus who live in darker environments have shown to possess skin color that is grey and bespeckled.

The Altus possess strong telepathic, empathic abilities, as shown by how they were able to bridge the gap in the war with the Vorn. The Altus value order and coexistence above all else, wishing nothing more than the fellow races of the galaxy to cease their incessant bloodshed. From a combat standpoint, the Altus are rather weak; with their thin skin and fragile bone structures, but the strongest among them are capable of taking apart a humans mind into tiny fragments, leaving them as nothing but a drooling puddle on the floor.

The Altus can adapt to any environment, though their bodies do change depending on where they live. An Altus living in cold weather might sprout additional plumage, whereas an Altus living in a dry place might grow thicker, more hide-like skin.

The Altus are known to stand between 6' and 7' feet tall.

The Kranit

Spoiler:

The Kranit are a tall, militarized race, with metallic exoskeletons and all the signature traits of a predator, they are the chief peacekeeping force in the galaxy; or so they like to believe. In reality most other races see them as 'boyscouts' and 'hall-monitors', only there to earn a badge or a medal of honor. They possess three, claw-like fingers on each hand, with three joints each, and their increased arm and leg length means they have faster land speed than most other species.

Their group oriented mentality and militarized society means they are often tasked with guarding prisons, defending outposts and protecting civilian transports and freighters. Despite the fact that their war with the Vorn has long since past, they, as a race, still have reservations about the collective species. This mistrust comes in the form of Vorn transports and medical facilities lacking Kranit protection. Their bird-like eyes enable them to become excellent snipers without biotic intervention.

Kranit males and females have very little gender dimorphism, standing between 7' and 8' tall.

Additional Info:

EDEN

Originally designed to be a center of commerce and a sign of reigning peace and cooperation between the various races of the Galaxy, Eden is now a bustling port of corruption and overpopulation. While it still serves as a seat of government and diplomacy for the galaxy's various races, it boasts a teeming and seedy underbelly.

From this seedy underside was born a collective of the best of the worst; The Freelancers. The Freelancers are both the bane and fuel for Eden's seedy undercircuit; with them serving as bounty hunters for government officials and crime bosses alike- if the price is right, they can kill it- or drag it in kicking and screaming so YOU can kill it.

There are different 'tiers' to Eden; with the highest tiers being home to alien royalty, ambassadors, diplomats, politicians, and the extremely wealthy- and the lower tiers being home to the poor, the impoverished, and the scum of the earth that no other planet wants. Within these tiers lie different 'sects' so each species could live 'comfortably', either in wretched discomfort or decadent luxury. Aquatic species can find their homes in either the extravagant 'Sun Pools', or the grimy aqueducts, and vica versa.

As a port the docks are usually teeming with wayward travelers, cruiser ships, and single seater battleships used by freelancers and soldiers alike. In Eden, no soul is turned away.

Various additions have been made to the port's original build to accommodate new races and population growth, though some of it is rather shanty and falling apart after years of use. In the cloistered, glowing streets, it's both easy for one to disappear, or be found when you least expect it.

THE FREELANCERS

The best of the worst. The Freelancers are mercenary's by any other name; ex-soldiers, con artists, murderers, or just people with the right skills looking for life on the edge- the Freelancers don't care who you are, they care that you can do your job and do it well. Adopting codenames, one can tell a freelancer apart by the 'The' prefix of their name. Notable freelancers include; The Glory, The Stalk, The Deacon, The Will, The Operator, The Hunt and The Chase. Each has a different way of doing the same job, but know that each and every one of them can and will kill you if paid enough. They do not care who you are, what you did, or why you did it, their job is to kill you on sight, or bring you in- you will not get away.

Freelancers do take side jobs; guarding cargo ships, civilian transports, serving as a bodyguard for public officials; but they all come back to headhunting for the pay.

Freelancers are generally given permission to operate above the law and can travel through alien space unbothered. However, if a government official has taken an interest or disliking in them they can expect to be pursued with minimal help.

While most peacekeeping forces and diplomats claim to abhor The Freelancers line of work, each and every one of them have called upon the order on occasion.

The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time Empty Re: The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time

Post by xenolion 13th May 2017, 2:57 pm

Ravenna's world

World Name: Earth
World Age: Same as our earth
World to Earth Comparison:  Physically the same as our earth.  Historically, not so.  See more info in additional info section.
Appearance:  Still the same, but Ravenna's corner of the world is on an island chain of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, the third island is uninhabited.  Ravenna has never left Miquelon
Biomes:: Same as Earth for the most part unless the magician mess with the weather.
World Humanoid Species: Humans.  Split into Magician, Scientists and Naturals  (See additional info for more details.  The different races exist on this earth as on our earth.
Additional Info:

Imagine if:

Magic was discovered during the renaissance period.  Since that discovery science and its discoveries were nipped in the bud by the sorcerers who control all the power.  Up until recently magic fueled all the modern devices, those who don't have magic are treated as second class citizens.

However, they were wrong.

In a small corner of the world, Science was hidden. Science was nurturing itself on a secluded island, unknown to ANYONE. Technology was growing and it had taken on a more... militaristic tone. Science had become a mission to save the world from Magic. Developing quickly now, in only a few short decades, Science had caught up with Magic. Now, Science would have its revenge.

In a swift motion, the magicians were surprised and devastated quickly, with many centers of their world devastated by plasma-rays, electrically-powered swords, and so much more. Science had to be stopped in the eyes of the magi, and their research had finally come to fruition. Too little, too late.

Now, the world is split in two. In the Americas and Africa, the Magicians live in the way they always have. Use the Naturals as pawns and use the resources to power their lavish lifestyles. It is estimated that only one million magi are alive for every twenty million humans. In Europe, Asia, and the Oceanias, the Scientists do the same, though they protest it's for "the good of Humanity". It's true, the Naturals in Science territory are better off, but only marginally. The world has been torn in two, with Science ignoring Magic and vice-versa... save in one place.

The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time 800px-Saint-Pierre_and_Miquelon_3D

Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a small chain of islands off the coast of Canada, is in a peculiar spot. While it is closest to CANADA and by proximity, part of Magician territory, it is actually FRENCH territory, and therefore, science and magic happen to meet in that little part of the world. It is there that the two sides even acknowledge each other, but even then, they don't like each other. These two factions have divided the already small island chain off into two parts, and even then, it is impossible to ignore the two. Special task forces have been developed on each side in case the other decides to start something.

SAINT-PIERRE:

Is a science mecca, filled with intellects who do ample research on both the natural wonders of the world and the mystical wonders of magic. They constantly try to explain the natural phenomenon of magic, and attempt to kidnap magi to do so secretly. This "task force" is headed by a secret society, unknown to even the military of Saint-Pierre. Known as the "Magi-Hunters", this secret army captures magicians and tests them with harsh experiments and little rest. The surface army, known as the Science Squadrons, defend against the opposing army and their side of the bridge, along with doing the police work of Saint-Pierre.

The ACTUAL CITY is a modern civilization, with lots of screens and advertisements not unlike modern New York City. Monuments to French heroes, like Jeanne D'Arc and Napoleon are erected to honour their French roots. Business is interesting, with a capitalist system working like the modern society of today. Their economy is based on consumer goods and having the best of everything at all times, using status symbols to keep the non-scientists in control.

The cultural makeup of the city is diverse, welcoming all kinds of people from the cities of the science world. They come from places like Japan, Germany, and Australia, which introduces ethnic diversity to the area. Culturally, however, they indulge in the mass idea of "new is better", which means that fads come and go. Progress is dictated by the technology of the time, dedicated to making things faster and safer for people.

TECHNOLOGY:

The world's technology, depending on your view of the world, is either the same as it would be in regular society, with cell phones, computers, and all this social networking, or completely unnecessary. The only difference in Saint-Pierre technology and current technology is that weaponry has been advanced to make them more lightweight and easier to carry, with less chance of self-injury.

For example, guns link to the nervous system now, and know that firing at oneself, especially at the foot, is a particularly bad idea. Other innovations include blades that are generated on-the-spot, meaning that swords are now just hilts instead of the entire blade, alongside increased cartridge capacities and reduction of friendly fire due to databases being able to recognize friends from enemies.

MASTERPIECES

Scientists spend their entire lives working for that one special discovery. This sort of "discovery" happens during times of great enlightenment and can singlehandedly revolutionize the scientific community's ideas on the way the world works. Most scientists, however, are not capable of making special discoveries like the first helicopter from Leonardo da Vinci, discover the theory of relativity like Albert Einstein, or break new ground in any area. A masterpiece is all of these things and more.

Most scientists have an epiphany during an ordinary moment. They then return to their labs and begin creating their masterpiece (mostly in the form of a revolutionary weapon, that will help neutralize the magicians in some way or form). Examples of this are VWK-4500, an attack robot that can perform feats that most humans cannot and one that does not feel conventional pain, Camille Benfeito's vanishing act, and Contador Villeagas' incredibly large mechasuit.

MIQUELON:

Is the magic half of the two. This city is far more mystical, with high spirals and other sorts of medieval homes and towers dotting their skyline. Unlike the scientists, the Magi have NO NEED to care about the scientists, believing in their own prowess and their intellect to protect them from these forces. As such, there's only one central army protecting this state, the Mystics of Miquelon.

This city is more culture-based than Saint-Pierre, with a focus on music and visual art forms. The cuisine is also a big part of the city and as such, is celebrated. Business is a second priority, with bartering being the main sort of trade in this ruralistic city. The center of the town is the only "business quarter" of the city, dealing with necessities only. Even then, the business is still a "Do something for me, I'll do something for you" sort of idea. Currency is only used for necessities like food and drink, and comes in the form of vouchers. Luxuries are earned as one does things for the community.

Naturals do not exist except as servants on Miquelon. As such, there are far few people on Miquelon than there are on St. Pierre, leading to a far more uniform cultural ethnicity makeup, focusing more on Hispanic and Caucasians.

COMMUNICATION:

Telepathy is increasingly rare in this world now, due to telemancers being incredibly fragile and easily identified. Therefore, the magicians have begun to develop other methods of messaging, and sprites are the answer. Sprites are magical creatures conjurable by ANY BEGINNER MAGE. One mage usually controls one sprite, allowing people to know who the sender is. There are mages who can summon MANY sprites, called light summoners, based off the fact that sprites are light-based.

GUARDIAN SPRITES

The magicians all think they are worthy of their magics, but few are truly worthy of the deities that their magic power draws its roots from, and they are the few who understand that magic is not a means to achieve an end, but an end itself. These magicians are recognized by the magical world and are protected as a result for their potential to reach higher levels of magic. After all, most magic draws on the power of a deity. These deities send Guardian Sprites to protect them, and while most Guardian Sprites are weak at first, they might just grow to be a huge benefit. The only known sprite awarded to such people is Parsley, an earth sprite.

The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time Empty Re: The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time

Post by RadioTanuki 14th May 2017, 10:07 pm

World Name: The Spiritual Realm/Celestial Plane/(This actually goes by many names)

World Age: Since the dawn of time, whenever that was....

World to Earth Comparison: This world actually exists parallel to the rest of the universe. Although they overlap, they actually look very different. The very physics and laws of a universe such as the one that Earth resides in do not apply in quite the same way. This world has more dimensions, rules are largely thrown out the window, as the gods and spirits that reside here decided that rules were for losers. The spirit realm may sound like a super great amazing place, but as big and great as it is, most of it is a bizarre re-skin of the universe we all know, probably because the gods that live there all played a part in MAKING that very universe. That's not to say they didn't have good ideas, but as much as these gods... well, most of these gods, anyway, hate the rules and choose not to let them apply to THEIR world, the world they were creating and maintaining themselves kinda HAD to play by some rules. It doesn't make sense after all to build the exact same place you live in, and the plan was good. It all worked, after all. Maybe a little rough around the edges, but it was definitely a work of art. Besides, it was another place that the gods could control from the outside, and visit when they wanted to REALLY mess with some stuff. That was fun. I mean, if everyone were just a god after all, it would kind of suck? When everyone's super, no one is... So, you make a world that's less than you, right? That way you get to be the big shot... And that's why YOUR universe was created. Bet you all feel really good about that... What? Oh, describe the world gods come from in more detail? Well, it's wonderful, trust me on that, but you all being lesser beings with your tiny little brains and such couldn't possibly fathom a better explanation, we'll just leave it at that, kay?    Wink

Appearance: That's definitely a lot to cover, but the particular part that I'M from is kind of like in the Asian countries of your Earth. except it's like really fantastical and hazy with dragon's and shit flying around and old men that sit on mountains smoking pipes or something crazy like that... it's not ALL that way of course, and it does LOOK COOLER than you're likely thinking too, and oh.... it also can kinda change on the fly as well. Anything. But yeah, most often, the closest approximations you can get are in the paintings from your world. They often look that way because painters who did those would meditate, which, believe it or not, CAN actually let you catch glimpses of our realm. I'm sure they can't see a lot of it still, but they paint the best they can, nonetheless...

The Spirit Realm:

Biomes: Just usually imagine more exaggerated versions of your own biome. If we happen to be in the area in your universe's parallel, it should often be familiar enough to tell in a weird way, assuming you're in tune at all. Then like I say, to mortal beings it seems to be taken more fully based upon one's own perception, and even then, it can shift on everyone on the fly, especially if there is another powerful enough god in the vicinity. But no biome is off limits here. Our versions of biomes can defy your laws such as gravity, and stuff's just really pretty in general. Your universe might actually look similar if you didn't have all those rules, but OH YEAH,... pollution.... really guys? This world was clean when we all put it together... I guess if you want to tear it apart, that's your business. Free will was part of the plan anyway.

A lovely Mountain biome here:

World Humanoid Species: Well, a lot of us do have at least a humanoid form, but our base looks are all very different and we can all kind of all appear as we please, though we don't always necessarily do that, so we can remember who each is. You would think it would be really fun to trick your fellow gods with disguises, but most can see through them and it's just easier to keep up with who's who this way. Our dealings with petty things such as trickery really just all work more so in your world anyway. This said, the humanoid base form gods, like myself, all usually have different attributes you would recognize from your world, depending on their domain and particular power set.

Additional Info:
The spirit world is amazing. Everyone wants to go there, you can kinda do as you please, and it's kinda just way better than this other universe in every way. When the rules apply, well, it can be a bit fun at times, but it kinda sucks... actually messing with your universe too much can actually break it.. Ours doesn't. That sucks for you guys. Even if we wanted to break it, we would have to answer to greater gods for it, which can mean anything from banishment from our world to a lesser one, up to banishment from existence itself.. don't mess with it. Oh yeah... which also reminds me, yeah. You can do whatever you want here, so long as it doesn't mess up what another god with greater power than your own is doing.... make that mistake, and you're finished as a god.... and that brings it back to myself.... a banished god... who desperately wishes to return home...

Home of Oshinari, fallen god...

The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time Empty Re: The Worlds of Beyond Space and Time

Post by Skylar 27th August 2017, 6:17 pm

World Name: Deshyke
World Age: Approximately 1 million years
World to Earth Comparison:
Appearance: A desert planet with one very large city at one side of planet. A space station orbits right above the large city and serves as a connection base for those coming or leaving the planet.
Biomes: Minimal plant life for the majority of the planet. Varies animal life reside in the desert dunes. There are massive sandstorms that plague the planet. Day/night cycles are similar to earth but instead have a 36 hour span. A large city that takes approximately a third of the main continent resides on the planet. The city is far advanced and has developed technology allowing the culture to expand the city in a vertical manner, such as flying vehicles and transporters for transportation.
World Humanoid Species: Ongolan - Ongolans are the current inhabitants of the planet and are the ones that have developed the city all for the Syndicate. Ongolans are nearly identical to humans in appearance but have had genetic manipulation at birth, as part of their culture, in order to improve physical and mental capabilities. Because of this, Ongolans are physically stronger and able to withstand much more. As well, they have a mind that allows them to learn faster than normal as well as retain a larger amount of information in their memory.
Additional Info:[/code]
Ongolans have inhabited the world as they can remember. Long ago it is said that they were a nomad tribe but they developed at a very rapid rate. The Syndicate was formed and was formed as a militristic government.  As their civilization began to advance rapidly they deemed it as Ordo ab Chao. Ordo ab Chao is simply this era of increased technological advancement. The Ongolans deem that they are still in this Ordo ab Chao as they continue to make great strides in science and technology to this very day. Concara is the capital and main city of Deshyke and is the headquarters of the Syndicate. While smaller cities exist on the planet, Concara is a massive city that takes a third of the main continent. The lower levels of Concara are plagued with crimes and currently experiencing a rise in incidents of the Morbus, a disease that causes insanity. Meanwhile, the higher levels of Concara exhibit that of a technology advanced and beautiful city that never sleeps. On the outskirts of Concara is nothing but desert wastelands where a few remaining Ongolans who reject the Syndicate reside. The city is protected by the weather and desert climate by a force shield.  A space station named Algeris orbits right above Concara and is a large space station that serves as the main way to and from the planet Deshyke.
