The Free People of Genevsa Empty The Free People of Genevsa

Post by JerriLeah7 21st July 2013, 12:27 pm

The Key Points to Genevsa:

--Water/Shipping, No Airships, Fishing
The Free People of Genevsa primarily own more ocean than they do actual land.  As such, their waters are restricted from air ship travel and they even have an entire section devoted to sea shipping trade, as well as an entire region dedicated to fishing.  The trade routes are done in a specific routine with high security check points at different locations in the sea.

Additionally, there are fishing ports in the ocean for fishing communities within the fishing region, that live primarily on their own away from civilization, needing only trades in other foods and fresh water.  These people often take vacations away from home, as well, considering the desire to see land increases over time when one is deprived of it.

--Tourism/Anti-FU's
The Free People of Genevsa do not like Force Users.  Period.  There is no changing this--only accepting it.  If you are a Force User and you ere born within its territory, you are allowed to stay, so long as you are registered and contribute to society and trade as a whole.  Otherwise, they will prefer you to leave, though they would never banish a Force User from their country.  However, if you were not born within Genevsa, you are not welcome and you cannot stay. Although Genevsa has many tourism spots and entertainment, they make enough to know that they do not need Force Users in the tourists that they entertain yearly.

The Free People of Genevsa Empty Re: The Free People of Genevsa

[ATTN: Open]

She woke up with the dawn, as was usual, keeping her eyes shut for a moment. She listened - silence inside the small hut, the only sound her own breathing and the creaking of the wood. There were no footsteps, no second pair of lungs drawing breath and no voice calling to her to wake her up. She didn't need his voice anymore to wake with dawn. But she wished she had it anyway.

Come now, like he'd want you dwelling on this. Usually she didn't. But today the silence was especially deafening.

Cecily rolled off her cot - woven straw, nothing more - and threw aside her blanket. She stood and stretched, her hands reaching towards the beams holding the roof up and nearly touching. The hut was small and sparse - a table at the opposite end of the room with some equipment, a small icebox Siegfried bought in town, Siegfried's sword propped in the corner next to her own weapons. The slight girl treaded lightly on the dirt floor, pulling one of her few dresses back over her head and wrapping her cloak around herself. It was getting warmer, but the cloak provided some protection against the chill morning air. She grabbed her bo staff, but her sandals she left at the door, choosing to go out barefoot.

"Good morning, Siggy," she said, as she stepped past his grave, marked by the small idol of the god he so often called upon. It was about time she checked her traps. About time she wandered into town as well - sell a few pelts for some change to buy... something. See a few human faces for a change. The solitude was calming, sure, pleasant - but she could never do that forever.

[ATTN: Cecily]

As the small village begins to wake up and the farms have already started, a small girl runs along the path on the outer skirts, looking for something as she upturns rocks, dying weeds, looks behind trees, and kicks through grass and heavy winds.  It's cooler about, this spring, as she pulls her sweater closer to her small body to get away from the cool weather.

The child huffs in disappointment as she gives up, now quite a ways away from the village where she lives.  Her mother wouldn't be pleased at how far out she is, but she doesn't care.  She sits down on a large rock, up until her feet cannot touch the ground anymore.  They dangle over, moving back and forth as she looks up at the pretty sky as her mom's voice pops into her head:

"Kira, you'd better not go to far, now!" The voice haunts...and the child ignores.  She much rather enjoys being out here, anyways.  When she's in the village, everyone is so...demanding.  They all maker her do these stupid, boring, and dumb chores that aren't any fun at all and they make her tired.  She never gets to really play or be herself until she comes out here in the fields.  So much more windy out here, though.  It often makes her cold, so she has to make sure she wears the right clothes.

[ATTN: Kira]

Things had been good that morning. More than half her traps were full, and she brought her small game back, skinning them and throwing the meat in the ice box before she gathered up all the skins she'd collected to sell, hanging them off the edge of her bo staff. She threw her hair up in a loose bun, and slipped her sandals on, going outside once more.

"I'll be back tonight, Siggy," she said, greeting him again as she passed. She was certain, somehow, that he was still around to listen.

She walked in silence, eventually clearing the forest to where the trees grew more sparsely. The village was maybe 45 minutes walk distant, and it was a half an hour before she saw the small girl sitting on a rock in the field.

A small smile played across her face, and she changed course, walking slowly towards the girl kicking her feet back and forth. "Ho there, traveler!" she says cheerily, using her bo staff almost as a walking stick. "Where are you off to?"

[ATTN:  Cecily]

Kira looks up as a dark haired girl with big eyes smiles at her and speaks with a rather friendly voice.  She smiles back--she likes her.  She called her traveler, like she's an adult adventurer!!  Which, she practically is, but most don't truly understand that at all.  Grown-ups can be such meanie heads.  She giggles as that thought passes through her mind.

"I'm Kira and I'm making magic!"  Kira exclaims, her hands thrown up into the air.  "You can't just do that in the town...people freak out, ya know??  Magic is serious business.  Very serious.  And dangerous."

The last words fall quiet more and more as her words drop to whispers and her hands move in dramatic motions, perhaps suggesting in a childlike way that the wind blows because of her.  The girl giggles a little bit more.

[ATTN: Kira]

Cecily let her eyes widen. "Whoa," she said, sitting down on the ground in front of the little girl and setting her staff aside behind her. "That is so cool. I wish I could make magic."

"I'm Cecily," she said. "Can you show me some magic? I promise I won't tell anyone."  Little Kira kind of reminded Cecily of herself - always running off away from town and from safety. Her business could always wait a little longer while she kept an eye on the girl.

[ATTN:  Cecily]

Kira smiles brightly, her hands lowering for a moment.  "Cecily.  That's a preeeettyy name.  I like it.  I can show you some magic, since you won't tell anyone.  Just watch!"

Kira jumps down off the rock, but she doesn't land on the ground.  Rather, her toes point the dirt land beneath her with bent knees as her body almost crouches in a strange-like levitation.  The wind instantly moves more rapidly beneath her, ripples visually circling beneath her body as she begins to move in circles, spinning with a wide grin on her face without ever falling at all.

The grass is now violently moving, all in a circular motion around Kira, almost flattening entirely to the ground.   Her eyes close as she giggles in the wind, her arms spread out wide as the spinning motion goes faster and faster, trees in the near distance shaking madly.  Without a doubt, the close-eyed girl is sure that she's giving Cecily's form quite the chill.

"Kira!  NO!"  A voice calls in the distance.  Kira immediately halts, the wind becoming still as she drops the ground with a small grunt.  She runs behinds Cecily, hiding behind her body as if using her as a meat shield.   A man appears over the hill, looking scared, but angry.  "You do not let Force Users use their magic on you!  What have I told you about this?!  You come out of behind her right now!!"

Kira begins to cry almost immediately as the man begins to try to tug on her arm.  She clings to Cecily as she snaps at him through her tears.  "I did it, papa!  It was my magic, not hers!  I told you that I--!"

The man interrupts her as Cecily pulls away from him and moves back behind Cecily a ways.  "Stop lying, Kira!!  I told you what happens to bad little, lying girls!  Get away from her!"

[ATTN: Kira and her father]

Cecily's eyes went wide for real at the girl's display - no way. She hadn't expected actual force magic, not from one so young, and not something so potent, and a chill ran tumbling down her spine.

She got slowly to her feet, watching her until she heard a voice yelling from a distance. Cecily jumped, bringing her staff as the man approached and Kira fled behind her.

She tried to relax, lowering her staff. "Sir - " He reached behind her, trying to tug Kira away as she cried, and Cecily backed away with her. "Sir, calm down, please, your village knows me, I've no force - "

She backed up further, Kira in tow, as he demanded she get away from her. Kira clung, shaking, to her leg. "No, I will not get away, she is your daughter and you're terrifying her!" she said, starting to lose patience. "Please just calm down!"

[ATTN:  Cecily]

The man looks angry, his hands lowering, but his pose tensing up as his fists clench.  He grits his teeth, no longer looking at Kira, but now all energy directed at Cecily.  "Look, lady.  I know you've never caused any trouble for the village before, but we don't like your kind here.  You need to return my daughter to me, or so help me, I'll--"

Kira clings to Cecily, her face still wet as it couches her leg. She says nothing, but as her father cuts off his own speech, she stifles the sound of her crying. She looks up at Cecily and then back at her father. She shakes her head, looking sad and hurt as she speaks with a childlike bitterness. "I don't want to go with you, daddy. I want you to leave me alone."

[ATTN: Kira and her dad]

"My 'kind'?" she asked. She took a breath, closing her eyes a moment. "Look, I'm not - forget it," she said, with a sigh. He wouldn't listen. "I'm not returning your daughter because I don't 'have' her. If you want Kira back convince her, not me." She laid one hand down on the girl's head in a fumbling gesture of comfort.

[ATTN:  Cecily]

The man is ready to protest, but he looks down at his tense little girl and his fists relax.  At first, this looks natural, but then it seems quite unnatural as the man's gaze goes blank...empty.  All emotion fades as his body goes slack, but his body remains standing--yet perfectly still.  It is almost as if he becomes a soulless doll.

Kira backs away from Cecily and speaks with a calm voice towards her father.  "You're going to go home."

"I'm going to go home."  He words are slurred, lazy...monotone.

"You're going to sleep, because you're sick.  You aren't well."

"I'm not well.  Sleepy."

"You're going to think of this whole event and remember that it's just a horrible dream."

"...just a dream."

"Go now."

The man turns, walks away, slumping away as if he is a zombie.  His skin is paler, now, and he looks terribly sick, indeed.  It appears as though he may possibly have a fever, as well.  However, Kira ignores all of this.  Instead, she looks just at Cecily with sadness and bows her head.

"I am sorry."  She says.  "Did you still want to play with me?  He won't come back.  I understand if you're mad at me, though."

[ATTN: Kira]

Cecily's breath caught as she watched Kira take control of the man and send him off home. I've never seen anything like this. That much power and control from someone so young? Displeasure settled across her face, as if she bit into something rotten, as she watched Kira's father shamble off.

She forced the look off her face as she turned back to Kira, and she sighed. She knelt down on level with Kira and reached out, grabbing hold of her small hands. "No," she said. "I still want to play with you Kira - but you know that was wrong, don't you?" She didn't like the girl messing around with heads - but then, she thought, what were they supposed to do? She knew how this village at least treated those with Kira's powers.

[ATTN: Cecily]

"I know it was wrong." Kira replies, shrugging her shoulders and showing no remorse. "They always tell us that. Magic is wrong. However, it was better than letting my dad just tell everyone you are a magic person when you aren't. I'd rather him sleep and forget the whole thing."

She sits back down on her rock, climbing up onto it with a lack of grace and a bit of a grunt before dangling her feet over the ground once more. "I'd rather be sad for making him forget than getting you in trouble for me being an abonation."

She grimaces as she struggles to pronounce the word that she has clearly heard spoken on many occasions. She may not know what it means, even, but she has been able to pick up the negativity that comes with the word when Forcers are compared to the term.

[ATTN: Kira]

Cecily sighed, sitting down on the rock next to the girl. "You are not an 'abomination,'" she said with disgust, discerning what she meant. She brushed the girls hair from her forehead. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with you being you. What you can do? It isn't wrong. Don't let anyone make you think that."

She sighed, jabbing her staff into the ground next to her. "It's just how you use it. I'm glad you did back there, believe me, but you have to be careful. A lot of times... power makes people think they can do whatever they want, right? Power makes people into bullies. I don't want to see that happen to you, right? You're so sweet now."

She looked down at the girl, wondering just how much of this was sinking in.

Kira scrunches her brows downward, listening to Cecily's words. She nods her head, a bit, looking confused, but also somewhat understanding. She crosses her arms, her legs still swinging against the rock at her feet.

"I guess. I don't wanna be a bully." Kira says, "My cousin gets bullied all the time, just cause he's really big. You know, fat. Don't worry, I don't like bullies and I don't want to be one of those meanie heads. Besides, I'm a girl! Girls are like...super cute and fuzzy and they are soft like cotton candy!"

Kira giggles, a big smile and grin across her face.

Kira nods her head vigorously, standing up on the rock after meeting eye-level with Cecily's eyes.  She has big, bright eyes and Kira likes them.  Her big, pretty, poofy hair is very pretty, too.  For some reason, Cecily just seems....different.  She just seems softer, lovelier somehow--like a doll!

"What game you wanna play?"  Kira asks happily, "I don't got my dolls here.  I left 'em at home...Can you sing?  Singing is lotsa fun if you got the right voice."

She played with Kira most of that morning, finally looking up when the sun was near noon and remembering what she'd originally come for. She scooped the girl up in her arms and picked up her staff with her furs hanging from it.

"I think it's time to get you back home, little lady," she said, as she carried her back into town.

[Attn: Kira, Cecily, Open]

When Cecily walks back into the town it's a little past noon. Many of the villagers are busy going about the normal jobs and tasks that somehow make the little clusters of houses into a thriving little town. Cecily can see a fisherman outside on an old bucket mending a net. The man merely glancing up for a second as she walks by with Kira before returning to the work at hand.

If Cecily goes much further towards the beaches she'll be greeted by the heavy pervasive smell of fish, and other oceanic harvests. It isn't long before someone calls out Kira's name, and the little girl looks around for the source of the voice. "Mama?"

"Over here Kira!" The source of the voice eventually emerging from the crowd of people busy carrying what appears to be two ice chests hanging from a pole sitting across her shoulders. The woman is quite tall and stocky, her hair tied behind her neck by a once orange kerchief, she walks over and grabs the pole with a hand before reaching out to wave her daughter to her. "Come on sweetie, we've got to get home. Papa came home sick, and just collapsed in bed."

The little girl Kira frowns at the thought of going back anywhere near her dad right now. "Can't I stay and play with my new friend?" Kira looks to Cecily and pleads with big adorable girly eyes that speak of utter hopeless sadness if Cecily doesn't want to spend more time with her. "Please!"

She looked up at Kira's mother and shrugged helplessly, giving her a small smile, kinda hopeful smile. She really did like the kid.

The Free People of Genevsa Empty Re: The Free People of Genevsa

Post by JerriLeah7 4th December 2013, 7:30 pm

This role-play is now closed due to the following reasons:

1. MethosArchaic no longer has time to assist as RPM.
2. Several members have voiced an opinion of keeping it private within a smaller group, defeating the purpose of this RP.
3. Inactivity; inability to get a response from inactive members.
4. Christmas Holidays require the use of the RPG stylesheet, which is currently being used by this role-play.
5. Several inactive members have implied or stated that they will not return in the near future.

This role-play may come back as a smaller role-play. No further massive role-plays will be run by Leah7 on this forum ever again. There is not enough people that are willing to work together outside of their normal, small cliques to make this kind of role-play work--especially for one of this scale. As such, never expect to see this style of role-play again, but you may see this setting again, if you are invited.
