Paradisa Registration

*Dislcaimer: I did not come up with the idea for this RP, I just adapted it from here.*
At the heart of the multiverse, in the place where all realities converge, there is a world. It is at once everything and nothing; glorious and graceless; soulful and heartless. Some call it Heaven. Others call it H*ll. Its name for itself is Paradisa.
Paradisa is a world of perfect beauty. There is no ugliness apparent anywhere within it. Weather is picturesque any given time of the year, and the skies mostly clear throughout the day, with stars and galaxies and the huge, blue moon appearing at night. It seems that nothing could disturb the peace of this place... and yet, if one is able to look deeper, to part the veils of deception that the world layers over its people's minds, one would discover a seething, roiling darkness at the heart of the world; a darkness that craves souls and memory and desire. No paradise is without flaw.
The nature of Paradisa is to draw those from other worlds into itself; that is how it survives. It gives these forced immigrants a place to live — a beautiful, luxuriant castle with endless floors and chambers, turrets and spires. From the outside, it is not apparent just how large Cair Paradisa is; it is only when one enters the castle that one realizes that it is far larger on the inside than it appears to be on the outside. The inhabitants of the castle can have anything their hearts desire. Endless food and drink and entertainment are available both within the castle and in the quaint and lovely city that surrounds it. Furthermore, they cannot die. Being "killed" merely leads them to be returned to life a mere matter of weeks later (although not without Paradisa having stolen a fraction of their soul).
There is a price to be paid, however, for endless bounty.
Upon arriving in Paradisa, the Travellers (as the people native to the world refer to them) have something precious stripped from them, torn away irrevocably by the darkness that lies at the heart of paradise. Whether this be a priceless item, the memory of one's own true love, one's capability to feel a certain emotion... such depends on the person. It is always something without which the Traveller will suffer in some fashion; for the world feeds on the Travelers' suffering, as well. Furthermore, the Travelers quickly discover that they cannot return to their worlds of origin.
The road to Paradisa only leads in one direction, so be welcome to paradise. And, as always, be wary that things are never as they seem.
This is mainly an open RP; most anything can happen. Players will have a lot freedom to do what they want, when they want, within reason. There will be events which will affect the entire player-base, which I will control, but all else is left open. If players wish to have long-term character development or just go with the flow, it matters not.
Canon and original characters are accepted, and there are no character limitations; players can have as many characters as they think they can handle. Canon characters can be from most any media and can be from any point in the timeline of their media. Original characters must be from another RP or story; there can be no characters created solely for this RP.
Canon characters are on a first come first serve basis. If two players want to use the same character, but from different realities or different points on their timeline, the character must be sufficiently different in each reality/timeline. If you wish to use an OC created by somebody else, you must ask their permission first.
This RP will be paragraph style and will follow all the GtR rules. Given the open nature of this RP, inactivity will not be too much of an issue, however if you know you are going to be inactive please give notice so the other players can act accordingly. If a player is inactive for a while and the others with whom they were interacting want to move on, they reserve the right to do so.

The city royale surrounds the castle on three sides and is where the native people of Paradisa reside, though characters can move out of the castle and into the city royale if they so desire. It is a pleasant, bustling place with much to offer.
The world beyond is what one enters when they leave the city royale. Everything seems perfect, however as characters travel they may be stopped by barriers. The farther they travel, if they're not stopped, the weaker the character becomes and they will feel a calling to return to the castle.

A loss is the price one pays to come to Paradisa. It is stripped from the resident and devoured, and kept in the castle's "heart." No one has ever found a way to retrieve this. A loss can be a skill/ability, an item, or a memory.
Ability/skill: This will strip a resident from being able to do something that is important or vital to them. This can be a magical ability, the skill to use a certain weapon, etc. The loss acts as a physical restraint or a mental block, impossible to fight back against.
Item: The castle can take an item which is very important to the resident. This item must be something that the resident keeps with them at all times, such as a weapon, or a special keepsake, or something else of significance. This item can not be retrieved, nor will the castle give out replicas or similar items.
Memory: This is a common type of loss, which acts as a mental block. The memory may be of a precious person, friend, lover, partner, event or time period. Sometimes it strips their memory so finely that the resident does not recall the person ever existed, and sometimes it only removes certain things about that person, such as their relationship. Sometimes, when losing the memory of an event, the castle substitutes in an altered memory of it, or other times it just leaves them with a large blank. Of course, residents can learn all about the people or events they forget from other people, but it will never be the same.
It is vaguely known that losses can change when killed or knocked unconscious for a few days, but it is also known that being killed can give a resident an additional loss, rather than changing it. This additional loss may be a significant in-game event or person, as long as the character retains one loss pertaining to his/her/its canon.
There can also be temporary losses. More on this in the discussion thread.
When a character is first taken to Paradisa, they will start out in their room in the castle. They will most likely be confused and disoriented, since they have been swept out of their old life. They will notice there is a journal (info about this in the discussion thread) which has their name on the first page and after that is full of other peoples' writing. What they lost: Memory of his best friend Rei. This is important to him because Rei was the only person who cared for him and took him in after he was orphaned.
Appearance: He is 4'3", 70 lbs, with long purple hair and red eyes. Like so.
Personality: Teepo is best described as a punk who dislikes authority and people telling him what to do. He tends to be arrogant and likes to brag to people, which causes him to end up in trouble more often than not. Despite his gruff attitude, he deeply cares for Rei, who is like a brother to him.
Abilities: Good with a sword, good magical ability. Knows the spells: Flare (small fire attactk), Frost (small ice attack), Simoon (small fire and wind attack), Iceblast (medium-sized ice attack), and Fireblast (medium-sized fire attack).
Backstory: Teepo has no memory of his past; all he knows is that he was an orphan in the woods until Rei found him. The pair have lived together in a cabin in the forest ever since, making a living as thieves by stealing from the closest village, McNeil Village, and mugging people on Yraall Road.

What they lost: The magatama. It is a useful item because it lets him see into people's hearts and know when they're hiding something. It also has sentimental value because it was given to him by his assistant, Maya.

Personality: Phoenix is a slightly straightlaced but likable man. He sometimes seems a bit dorky, but he's actually very clever and able to bluff his way to the truth. As a defense attorney, he puts his faith in his clients and does everything in his power to make sure justice is served. He has a sarcastic sense of humour, but he tends to keep the more scathing remarks to himself.
Abilities: Lawyer skills!
Backstory: Phoenix was originally studying art until an important case

Canon: After visiting Everland city
What they lost: She forgot about Kyoshi, the village she grew up in. She still remembers her past there, but she forgot everything else. Kyoshi is important to her because it is her hometown. It is also one of the few places in her world where half breeds are accepted. It is a smaller village that has been able to escape the war, until very recently. It was attacked by demons recently forcing them to flee to Everland City.
Appearance: She is 5’4” Slender build. She has grass green eyes with straight medium brown hair that is down to the middle of her back. She usually has it in a braid or ponytail to keep it out of her way. Her skin is paler than most human, but not as pale as a true elven.
Personality: She is a very spirited young lady, very friendly and a bit naive at times.
Abilities: She has water magic, but has not been trained in it at all. She is skilled with her crossbow and is learning to use daggers given to her by Zhelyr.
Backstory: She grew up in Kyoshi village, abandoned as a baby after her mother died. She grew up in the care of the village temple. She was trained to be a priestess in training. She got sick of the village life and left to visit the other cities. There her life changed forever. She met a group of people, including Zhelyr. Whom she considers her love.
She is a Elven/Human half breed. She only recently found out her father is actually the Elven ruler after being mistaken for her sister and kidnapped by the royal guard. Her world is in at the brink of a war where half breed are being slaughtered. Her group was sent on a mission to visit the royal families to try to bring the balance back to her world.

Canon: After escaping from the second world they arrived at, a small island nation where everyone wore masks because the local religion forbade people from showing off their god-given face.
What they lost: He lost the memory of his three-year-old daughter, Natalie. This is important to him because, what with the shaky relationship he had with his wife, Natalie was the only thing that kept the two of them together. He cared more about his daughter than he did anything else in the world, and was determined to try and break his drinking habits for her sake.
Appearance: About six feet tall, with dark hair, brown eyes, and the beginnings of a beard. He’s a relatively big man, with broad shoulders, and he wears jeans, a stained white shirt, and no shoes.
Personality: He’s usually calm and thoughtful, though he has a temper like an atomic bomb when pushed. He adores children. He is very mature and paternal, and can be very bossy because of it. He is a major realist, but despite that he is very determined to accomplish his goals.
Abilities: A relatively competent knife-fighter, and his experience has taught him how to survive in almost any situation. He has also developed some skill in tracking and stealth.
Backstory: Glen had a shaky relationship with his wife, Lindsey, at best. He was a chronic alcoholic, and the alcohol made his occasional explosions even more violent – the only reason they stayed together so long was because of their mutual adoration of their daughter, Natalie, and their desire for her to have a somewhat normal life.
That all ended when a drunken Glen accidentally tapped into a line of power, one that connects numerous worlds together, and ended up in a canyon on another world for nearly three months. He lapsed into an almost animal state during the time in order to survive, and ended up nearly killing another resident of the place, Adam. Once he finally returned to himself, he vowed to try and make it up to Adam and decided to accompany him, viewing himself as a father figure to the boy, as they both tried to make their way home.

What they lost: Garet lost all memories of his family. He and his brother, sister, parents, and grandparents all lived in the same house and were quite close.
Appearance: I'm too lazy to write a description
Personality: Garet is often brash and hot tempered, and can be a bit dense at times. He is far from graceful or sophisticated, but he is a loyal friend.
Abilities: Garet is a strong fighter capable of using swords, axes, and maces. He is also a Mars Adept, which gives him the ability to use Psynergy (magic) based on fire and lava.
Backstory: Garet grew up in the isolated village of Vale, located at the foot of Mt. Aleph, as one of the grandchildren of the mayor. When Garet and his best friend Isaac were fourteen, a disaster took place in Vale; a giant boulder fell from the mountain and went through the village. They watched as the boulder caused Isaac’s father and their friend Jenna’s brother and parents to be lost in the river running through Vale. Directly after the event, Garet and Isaac were attacked by two mysterious people and left unconscious.
During the three years that followed, Garet and Isaac dedicated themselves to studying and improving their Psynergy with a scholar named Kraden. One day, Kraden took Garet, Isaac, and Jenna to study the mysterious Mt. Aleph where they discover the four elemental stars.

Backstory: Garet grew up in the isolated village of Vale, located at the foot of Mt. Aleph, as one of the grandchildren of the mayor. When Garet and his best friend Isaac were fourteen, a disaster took place in Vale; a giant boulder fell from the mountain and went through the village. They watched as the boulder caused Isaac’s father and their friend Jenna’s brother and parents to be lost in the river running through Vale. Directly after the event, Garet and Isaac were attacked by two mysterious people and left unconscious.
During the three years that followed, Garet and Isaac dedicated themselves to studying and improving their Psynergy with a scholar named Kraden. One day, Kraden took Garet, Isaac, and Jenna to study the mysterious Mt. Aleph where they discover the four elemental stars.

- To make a long story short, the people who attacked Garet and Isaac three years ago came to Mt. Aleph while the group was studying it to steal the stars, and were successful in taking three and taking Kraden and Jenna as hostages. Garet and Isaac were left with the last star, and were sent on a quest by the Wise One (a floating boulder with an eye who suddenly appeared) to stop the thieves from using the stars to light the four Elemental Lighthouses. They embark on this journey and are unable to stop the thieves from using two stars, but eventually learn that the lighthouses must be lit in order to save the world from decaying. They go against the orders of the Wise One and help light the remaining lighthouses, saving the world.

Abilities: Yuri is a Harmonixer meaning that he can “fuse” with the souls of monsters and demons. This allows him to transform into them at any time he chooses. While he remembers being a Harmonixer, he has lost this ability after entering Paradisa. Yuri is quite skilled in combat. He is a well-trained martial artist and uses bladed knuckles in his fights. He rarely uses any other weapons than these, relying on his own strength and skill to get the job done.

- However, it came with a cost. Being a Harmonixer is a curse and the souls that Yuri defeats remain within his heart and build up malice. Eventually, the Harmonixer must pay the price of his soul but to prevent this from occurring, Alice offered her soul in place of Yuri’s. As the two finally returned from their adventure, Alice became ill and died due to the curse.

I'm sorry, but a character cannot have a body part removed as a loss, and they absolutely cannot have something else added to them. The character must be true to their canon, with one thing taken away from them (read the loss section again for acceptable losses) and nothing else added or changed. If you wish for him to lose an ability, that's fine, just take the ability.
Also, I would prefer if you wrote in a backstory or linked to one. Not everyone has seen Inuyasha. Same for appearance.

Appearance: Scruffy silver-grey hair that goes darker at the tips, red-orange eyes, height is about 5'10", he is of average build.
Personality: He is adventurous, free-spirited, and he enjoys killing and doing dirty jobs.
Abilities: Super vision (in daytime only), acute hearing, can summon wings but can't fly for very long, can grow claws. He is also very good with daggers.
Backstory: He lived with his father on Mount Piza until he was driven to Anchorsaur. He didn't want to stay in one place and he wanted to find adventure, so he decided to travel around as a mercenary. Eventually, he ran into Kalena and offered to be her bodyguard, at which point everything changed for him.
He is a human/hawk demon half-breed; over the years he has learned to become distrustful of full-breeds. Now there is a full on war with the full-breeds killing all half-breeds they can find. He, Kalena, and the others were tasked with trying to stop this war.
