So here we go, just thought I would show you my new wallpaper on my desktop, it works for today after all.

This shall be my first post. A picture is worth a thousand words. Therefore, these pictures demonstrate, quite well, what kind of person I am.

I do a lot of distributed 10-bit H.264 encoding; cramming as much HD anime content into as little space as possible inside my anime server without losing any noticeable quality whatsoever. Right now, I have well over 350 anime series and over 10,000 episodes of anime. I also collect and encode music from various anime and VNs in my collection. Umineko no Naku Koro ni, particularly the visual sound novels and manga, is my most prized possession in my collection. Naturally, Higurashi is a favourite of mine as well.

I rarely see my own desktop, nor do I have icons or files littered across my desktop. When you use Linux, there is no incentive in doing such a thing.

A step back into the recent past. Whenever I am not doing distributed 10-bit H.264 anime encoding, I am running BOINC on these machines.

Why do people, businesses, and educational facilities still pay for that ugly, bloated, featureless, and inefficient Microsoft OS and associated office suite? At the same time, why get an expensive locked-down Apple product? It all comes down to marketing, marketing everywhere. Instead of getting a good system, the masses devour crap like Windows 8 or Mac OSX.

Well now, I've just made my own theme for XFWM4/Xfce4. I love the Ubuntu Touch Ambiance theme for GTK, but it did not exist for xfwm4. All of the themes for xfwm4 kind of really suck so I made this in GIMP in about 2 hours.

And installed on my desktop after I installed xfce4 on it and logged into an xfce4 session.



It's a little too easy to make window themes, so I'm wondering why all the existing stuff sucks. I guess that's what happens when you get so many programming geniuses and not enough graphic artists.
