Forget Me Nots Role-Play Thread10

"Pilot," Eanwin says softly from behind him, "It is time.  Are you ready?"

"Of course, Eanwin,"  Pilot says, turning to her.  "I'll be here.  Do let me know if there are any problems--well, unexpected problems, at least.  I'm sure you're ready."

"Thank you for your confidence, Pilot."  Eanwin says.  She turns from him.  Eanwin is a frail looking girl, tiny and short in figure, bony, with teal skin and two, tiny tentacles rising from her forehead.  Black hair falls down to her back's center, braided neatly around the top of her head in decoration before falling straightly and neatly along her spine.  Despite her overly large, black eyes, she has trouble seeing, most days, so she walks rather slowly down the hallways as she exits the Pilot's den.  It is rather annoying that despite her other sensory abilities of her biology, that it is her eyes that fail her the most.  She often wonders what it would have been like if she had human eyes, instead.

Finding her way to the medical bay, she sees three of the crew sleeping.  She moves to the head of each bed, one after the other, removing the memory module from over their foreheads and putting them away where they belong.  She's quick to write down on their medical boards at their feet of the time, as she does so.  It won't be long before they wake, but Eanwin is carefully gentle not to wake them as she monitors their blood pressure and heart rate to write that down, too.

"A note for the record," Eanwin says with her very soft voice.

A VI panel pops up, the robotic voice replying, "Recording."

Eanwin says, "The memory modification process is complete and all modules removed.  All patients, Alarise Hiley, Belfast McKinzey, and Ophelia Copperspoon are in perfect, healthy condition.  Heart rates  normal.  Blood pressures normal.  All is to plan and as they soon wake, procedures will continue as requested.  Mission Amaranth has now begun.  Stop."

Eanwin stops speaking and the robotic voice says, "Notice recorded."

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JerriLeah7 19th May 2017, 4:14 pm

The VI screen folds away as she puts away the last medical board, sighing quietly as she sits and waits for the crew to wake up. Alarise wakes, first, around forty five minutes later. The girl shifts in her bed, grunting with furrowed brow as Eanwin stands, moving to the bed as the girl's eyes open slightly and her hands move up to her face. Eanwin catches her wrists, pulling them down from her face as she smiles down at the patient with a gentle smile. "Alarise."

Alarise's vision is blurred as she looks up at the bluish, greenish blob above her. Very blurred, her eyes hurt a little. She grimaces, trying to sit up. Her body feels...stiff. The feminine voice came from the small figure, now helping her to sit up with her small arms. What is she, a child? She feels like a child, but what's with all the strange colors? What are those things coming out of her forehead? She can't see.

"Ah!" Alarise calls out in pain as she finally sits up all the way and the girl helps her to move backwards so as to lean up against the head of the bed. "I can't see."

"Careful, now. Move slowly," the girl says, "Your visual normalcy will return, but it'll still be a little blurry. You're near-sighted."

"Near-sighted," Alarise says at the same time as the girl. She knows that, somehow...but where is she? Who is she? And why is she here? Who is this girl? What's happening? "Where am I? What's going on?"

"Alarise, I'm Eanwin," She says, "Just relax. I'm your nurse. Your vision will return in just a few minutes. You're on board The Sharey, and we're currently in the medical bay."

Alarise looks confused, looking down at her hands. Small, black hair falls down on either side of her face and she pulls at it, looking at it as her vision becomes clearer. Her hands are white. She's human. She knows that. She looks up at Eanwin as she drops the hair, her vision much better. Eanwin is an Terrasti. She knows that...somehow. It's an alien. Not human. What else does she know? Her breathing is heavy and fast, now, as her eyes dart about the room to assess where she is. She watches as Eanwin bends down to pick something up from the bedside table and hand it to her. Her glasses. She puts them on.

"Calmly, now," Eanwin says, "Slow your breathing. There's no need to panic. You've got to keep your head clear, so move slow, breathe slow. You've got to recover. You've been sleeping for a long time."

She hears a groan to the right and her head snaps over to the sound, seeing not one, but two sleeping humans in identical beds to her own. They are asleep, but they are both moving and stirring. Eanwin stands up from the edge of her bed, moving over to them immediately. It looks like they are about to wake up. She blinks, looking them over. They just look like normal humans. Like her. For some reason, that feels like a relief.

"Mirror," Alarise says suddenly. As expected, a small device pops out of her bed's overboard, brandishing a small mirror. She looks into her reflection, feeling along her face and jaw with her hands. Her face looks so alien to her...somehow. There's a lot of "somehow" going on here. How did she know that a mirror was at hand like that? What is this thing that's holding it out for her, this little device? Who is she? Eanwin had called her Alarise...why doesn't it sound familiar to her? Eanwin begins to talk to the others. It looks like they are awake, but Alarise is still trying to find something familiar in own countenance. Nothing seems normal at all.

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JulietHasAGun 19th May 2017, 7:48 pm

She awoke with a jolt; realizing in mild, ignorant panic that she was....somewhere? Somewhere that she wasn't supposed to be. Somewhere strange. Her eyes? Why weren't her eyes opening?

One blink.

Two blinks.

Three. Three and then she could see; her eyesight adjusting to the light of the room. She braced herself back on her hands, her quick jolt upward making her slightly dizzy.

She felt stinging panic in her chest; but who was 'she'? Her head swiveled around the room, looking for something, anything, that might offer an explanation. She saw something pass in front of her vision; once, twice. She swatted at it, slapping it onto her face- whatever 'it' was. It was soft, long, stringy- her fingers softly pulled through it as she pulled it away from her to examine it. Hair, it was hair- her hair apparently, as when she tried to pull it too far she felt a sharp pain atop her head.

She heard stirring beside her and looked down, to her right. It was a man, a human man; unconscious, like she was, but coming to. Why were they unconscious? Who were they?

She felt herself being watched; so she turned in mild, dazed confusion to the two bipedal figures she knew were watching her. Her eyes were wide, like a deer in the headlights, one hand still holding her up while the other held a large strand of her hair between two fingers.

One was human, she could tell; and the other....the other was a Terrasti. How did she know that? What was a Terrasti? She opened her mouth, closing it, and then opening it again, staring at them blankly in void eyed confusion. She tried to find a voice, her voice, feeling it rumble from deep within her throat.

When she finally found it, only one, familiar phrase crossed her lips.

"Where the hell are we?"

She was surprised at the sound of her own voice. It sounded like it was made for talking, for telling. It was cool, composed, everything she wasn't right now.

"Hello, Ophelia," Eanwin says, "Call me Eanwin. I'm your nurse. You are aboard the Shaley and within the medical bay. You've been asleep for some time, so please move slowly."

The woman blinks. “Ophelia? Ooooooopheeeliiiaaaa. Ooooh-feeeeel-iaaaa.” The name tasted weird, foreign. It didn’t make sense, it sounded weird, felt weird. “And Eanwin? Eaaanwinnnn.” Her tongue tried to flex the words, the names, force them to make sense. But right now, nothing made sense.

“Am I sick? Why am I in a medical bay? What’s the Shaley and why am I on it?” She rattled off the two most important questions bouncing through her head. “And how long have I been asleep? I don’t…” ‘I don’t remember shit.’ But that was crazy, right? People, people just remembered things, of course! Who taught her to talk? To walk? How long did it take her to grow her hair! She had to remember things if she knew things; then again she barely knew things, either.

Eanwin giggles, looking to the floor with a big grin as her tentacles flopped about before looking back up at Ophelia with merry, black voids of giant eyes, "Ophelia, that's just like you. It's okay. I'll explain the full situation when you're all awake. You should all be experience some mild memory loss. Just relax."

Alarise clears her throat, "Excuse me. Do Ophelia and I know each other?"

Eanwin nods her head with a smile, speaking with such a soft and sweet voice that it reaches Alarise's heart, "Yes. You're crewmates. Good friends, too...well, sort of."

‘Ophelia’ furrowed her brows, looking at ‘Alarise’ with big, confused eyes. “Good friends? Crewmates?” Her eyes darted back to Eanwin. ”We’re in a crew? And as for mild, I can’t remember shit. Not a thing! That’s a bit more than mild! Wait, what’s above mild? Euughh- whatever, you know what I mean.”

She looked back at the man rousing from conciseness, pointing a finger at him. “And who’s he? And why were you awake?” Her eyes squinted slightly. “I do not know what it means, but the word ‘abducted’ is coming to mind. It doesn’t sound good.”

Eanwin puts up her hands as she moves over to comfort her, "No, no! We are all a crew, the crew of the Sharey. The Sharey is a techno-organic ship, the last of her kind."

Alarise's eyes go wide with surprise, "Those are all dead. They dont' exist anymore. No one's seen one for...well, years."

How does she know this? She just knows. She doesn't know anything about those types of ships...they are spaceships. She knows that...so they are in space! Woah. Aralise crosses her arms, shaking her head, misbelieving of what this woman says. She doesn't know how she knows, but she knows they are all dead.

Eanwin half frowns, nodding her head, "Yes, Aralise, but you found one. You did. And you led Sharey to this crew. Now we are comrades. I promise you that."

“Techno-Organic?” Ophelia knew the two words, well, apart. ‘Techno’ brought back memories of audible thumping, strange noises. Whereas organic made her thing of something green, fresh- carrots?

“And what do you mean don’t exist anymore? And why are we talking about this ship like it’s a stray puppy we brought home?” She blew a stray hair from her face, scooting forward, crossing her legs and leaning towards the two other women. “So we’re in space? Like whooooooosh stars and stuff? What are we doing in space? Hard to believe a crew is just four people.” She didn’t know how many people should be in a normal crew, but she knew four was small.

"Hey, hey," he protested, turning. "I'm trying to sleep..."

He felt heavy and his head hurt. He tried to snuggle into his bed. It was kind of small. He perked up at that. "Wait. Why the hell am I sleeping in such a small--"

He cut off as he opened blurry eyes. "Holy...why can't I see clearly?" Had he been drinking? Wait. Did he drink? Why couldn't he remember if he drank or not. "Where am I? What's going on? Huh? Wait. Who's all around me?" There were blurry shapes that he was sure were people. "Uh...hi?"

Ophelia jumped as the fourth person jolted awake, steadying herself back on her hands so she didn't careen forward and eat it on the floor.

She swiveled around to face him, looking away from the other two.

"Heyo," She greeted, giving a little wave, even though she knew he couldn't see her. "Piss if we know at this point. Uh, I think it's, Eanwin," She pointed to the alien. "Alarise," She pointed to the black haired woman. "And Ophelia." She pointed to herself. "Dunno who you are, but if you can't remember diddly shit, welcome to the club. Well; except for Eanwin, apparently she knows things. As for where we are, she said we were on the Sharey; but I also don't know what that is. It's weird. Started talking about 'techno-organic' ships and things like that. Sorry if that doesn't help you feel any better." She snapped her fingers. "Also; apparently we're a crew. Four is small for a crew right? Right?"

"Welcome back, Belfast," Eanwin says softly, "This is Eanwin. I'm your nurse. The deep sleep really does alter your vision, but I promise your vision will clear shortly."

Eanwin moves over to Belfast's bed, carefully sitting next to him and helping him sit up in his bed while his vision tries to clear. She is careful not to touch him too much, her hands grabbing only where his clothes are covering his skin. Alarise notices this, but she doesn't think much of it. It's probably because he's a guy or something.

Alarise finally stands, deliberately slowing her own movements so that she can take a look around. She stares from object to object, moves from wall to wall, looking for anything and everything that could seem vaguely familiar to her. Nothing seems familiar at all. What is going on?

Alarise says, "We're all awake, now. Can you explain what's going on with us, now?"

"When everyone is clear minded and fully awake, I will debrief you," Eanwin replies with a soft smile.

He liked her voice. It was pretty and nice to listen to. Of course, that was irrelevant to the point, so he filed that away for later as he took in what she had said. Okay...this sounded like the plot for an anime or sci-fi flick. "Don't let her get you with the big words," he said with amusement. "It just means that it's alive like you and me with some electronics built into it. But, hell...are any of us qualified to pilot this thing?"

Someone came over, also with a female voice, to help him sit up. "Um, thank you," he said politely. She introduced herself as this Eanwin person. "Glad to hear I'll be able to see again, ma'am. Wait. Belfast? Is that my name?" He laughed. "It sounds like some weird kinda meal!"

Another woman spoke. She sounded impatient. Considering the circumstances, he couldn't blame her. "Well, I'll attest to being fully awake, but clear headed may take a little longer..."

"Hey," Ophelia frowned, quickly springing to her feet, almost flinging herself off the high tech gurney. "I, for one, am perfectly clear minded and fully- ACK-SHI-IT!" Her legs wobbled out from beneath her, and she collided with the ground with a loud, un-ceremonial 'THUD'.

She was silent, for a moment, laying there as the sting of shame wore itself down. She then quickly stuck her hand up.

"I'm okay!" She pulled herself back up to her feet, making sure to steady herself. "I-yeah. Can we forget that part too? Shit. If we're in a crew I'm hoping I'm not the one with a job that requires fine motor skills, cuz I seem to be lacking in those...a bit."

It was then that she noticed how much taller she was then the two other women. Were they short? Or was she just...big. Without thinking she waved her hand above Alarise's head, before stopping herself a second too late, giving the other woman a slightly awkward smile when she noticed.

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JerriLeah7 23rd May 2017, 1:04 am

Eanwin nods, "Yes, we have a Pilot--he is bound to the ship and is already at his station.  There is no need to worry about that."

When he laughs at his name, she laughs with Belfast, nodding her head and grinning with amusement.  Ophelia falls and she looks over in alarm, but when the girl's head pops up to say she's okay, Eanwin does not get up from the bed next to Belfast.  After the girl stands and walks over to Alarise, who is apparently glaring at her slightly for some reason, Eanwin looks Belfast over one last time before getting up from the bed.

"Okay,"  Eanwin says, "I think we're ready to discuss your current job.  I'll begin by explaining a bit about myself to you:"

Eanwin moves to a chair on the far way, pulling it over towards the center of the room where they can all see her clearly, "I'm Eanwin Genras and I am a Terasti of the fourth kind.

As a member of your crew, I am the ship's doctor, surgeon, sexual consort, confidante, and psychiatrist.  I am fully equipped with the knowledge of human physiology and I have seventy three years of experience of working with humans, specifically.  Humans are my specialty field and that is why I was selected to be your Medical Specialist for the Sharey."

Alarise listens carefully, her head nodding as she listens to the soft, smooth voice that makes her feel safe.  This girl could be a diplomat if she wanted.  Alarise isn't sure what a Terasti of "the fourth kind" really means...she somehow knows of her race, but she can't recall much about them.  She does remember, however that they can literally vibrate their bodies when they want.  Weird memory to have.  Very weird.

So Alarise gets it.  She's the doc and the shrink.  That explains why she's here to wake them up from whatever they were on.  Drugs, probably.  Maybe a comatose state or suspension?  Just how far is technology for that?  Alarise doesn't know anything about that kind of stuff.

However, her mind backtracks when she realizes one of the things that Eanwin had said, "Did you say...sexual consort?"

Eanwin nods, "Yes.  I am here for sexual release, as well.  Since you cannot impregnate me, it's a good way to release stress without worries or concerns of any backlash."

Alarise blinks. "Have...ha-have we...?"

Eanwin laughs, "No.  As of this day, I have yet to be called on for such services by any member of the crew."

Ophelia smiles sheepishly at Alarise, giving a nervous chuckle as she clamps her hands back behind her, trying to not make eye contact. She's perfectly content to avoid eye contact until....

"Wait? 'Consort'? You're this ships personal space proooo- Okay, yeah. No. Don't listen to me talk. Consort. Escort. High class. Yeah." She managed to catch herself that time, burying her face in her hands for a moment, running them up and down to try to disguise the redness of her face. At least she hadn't fucked her. That would have made this even more awkward. "But, like, shit, you cover all the bases, don'tcha? Physical...mental...really physical." She cleared her throat, crossing her arms, straightening her posture.

"A-ny-way! Jobs, right? We were talking about jobs? Yeah, jobs. So yeah, Eanwin, what is it we do around here?" 'Something tells me I'm more suited to being a janitor than anything else.'

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by EphPhoenix 23rd May 2017, 1:24 pm

His eyesight was slowly clearing, enough that people were finally looking like blobs. He heard...Ophelia?...then looked in her direction to see her suddenly fall over. She...was tall for a girl. He laughed at her remark. "Maybe something that doesn't involve plank walking, maybe?" he offered with a jovial wink.

The woman helping him introduced herself as Eanwin. He listened, then does a double take as she mentioned "sexual consort." Luckily, he's spared asking himself as Alarise asked instead. At Eanwin's deadpan explanation, he felt heat rise to his face...and to other areas. He shook himself. Stop that! We're not that kind of guy! What if he had been, though. He looked himself over and gave a rueful chuckle. Not likely with this much to love! Of course, it's pragmatic. Those needs do exist, so maybe he should take advantage...? Hey! Well...maybe...?

He's spared further mental arguing with himself by Ophelia reacting. He chuckled ruefully at her awkwardness, feeling it himself. The only way to spare her is to move on and quickly, so he chimes in to what she brought up.

"Am I the cook?" he said with a chuckle, patting his flabby belly. "It's pretty apparent I like food." He gave her a lopsided grin. "Of course, it'd be hilarious if I was chief of security or some other highly active job! I mean, c'mon!" He laughed again, a deep belly rumble that was infectious.

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JerriLeah7 23rd May 2017, 4:38 pm

Eanwin seems entirely unaffected by their responses, clearly unabashed at her position and untethered by their awkward inquiries.  She laughs with Belfast at his jokes, not surprised by his behavior at all.  Still, she lets all of that sink in before she continues.

"You three are the only primary crew, other than myself, Pilot, and our chef--whose cooking you do adore, Belfast.  Your jobs are...well, you three are bounty hunters--and not just any."  Eanwin says.

The teal skinned girl pulls out a black tablet, pressing a button on it to reveal a holographic screen and a holographic keyboard that fold out beneath it.  From the brief analysis that Alarise can gain from it, it seems to be in an odd language.  She can't read any of the words or the keyboard.  Eanwin types in a few letters and a list pops up--Alarise immediately recognizes their faces at the top of the list.

There are fifty name, fifty pictures.  She can read most of that.  And she, Belfast, and this Ophelia girl--they are all three at the top.  The first place person was a woman--she looked scary as hell, but she was beautiful.  Her name was Neamhain--how in the hell do you pronounce that?  But Ophelia was under her, and then Alarise followed.  After that, it was this Belfast fellow.  Woah.  They are the top four!  The top four bounty hunters!

"You're the best," Eanwin says as Alarise's thoughts catch up with this revelation, "You're the absolute best registered bounty hunters with good names.  You've brought in some of the nastiest of foes.  You're good at what you do and you work together.  You guys are...well, you're a messed up family, for sure, but you're a family of your own."

There are so many questions buzzing through Alarise's mind, but Eanwin continues as she closes up her tablet, so none of the questions are yet asked.  Eanwin shifts the screen of the tablet to show a picture of a bounty file--a bald, slinky man with black skin and eyes.  She holds it out to view as she continues with that soft, delicate voice of hers.  Alarise could listen to the voice for centuries...

"Now to explain the memory loss.  You each had me remove your memories.  Intentionally.  This picture is Mission Amaranth.  You're after this mark--you've been chasing him for the past four star systems.  He goes by Faeras and he's what you would call a Mind Warper.  He's quite elusive, but his specialty is to get into people's heads. He uses your emotions and turns you against each other.  The last four bounty hunters that went after him...they died.  All killed themselves.  He makes you remember things--bad things.  This file goes into detail what he can do to you...you'll each be able to view it at any time.  Anyway.  So now, with your minds emptied, you'll be able to face him.

Of course, you can't really take him down when you can't remember any of your skills.  So, upon request, I have collected one memory--you each chose a specific memory to recall after the process.  I have collected them and, after you've each gained full sight and balance, I'll return them to you.  Do you have any questions, so far?"

Ophelia blinked in shock. How was she second? The second best bounty hunter? She didn't think she was the type to 'hunt' anything! Or- was she?

She didn't remember shit; and the other two seemed to at least know something about anything; but she didn't know shit. All she'd done is ask questions, fall off a gurney, and gotten Alarise to glare at her.

"Woah, woah, woah- hold on a second," Ophelia's confused mannerisms fell for a moment, her formerly bumbling demeanor replaced with something that resembled seriousness. "So, what you're telling me is, we're the top four, well, within the top four, we're all friends; and we went out to hunt down this asshole," She pointed at the black eyed man on the screen. "Willingly? So we got you to suck our memories out, so he couldn't use them to kill us? And we only get one of them back? So are all our pasts just gone? Forever? How dangerous is he, how important is he that any one of us would go through this?"

She had probably had a family, friends, a life outside of this; the people beside her probably had enough memories with her to fill up a book- and they were just

Gone.

All gone.

"Also; how are we supposed to kill, bring in, deep fry- whatever this guy, if none of remember how to do anything?"

It was too incredible to believe. His mouth gaped open. He checked his fat again. Okay...maybe there is more to me than just fat... There was no doubt he was chunky, but...he had solid muscle underneath it. "Don't that beat all...?"

He listened to Ophelia with half a mind. "I doubt we half-assed this," he said, "at least, I hope we didn't. We probably left ourselves some means to tap into our skills. There's also 'muscle memory.' Skills imprinted into our muscles from repeated use. Those would be harder to erase." He looked at Eanwin. "Was I a scholar or something? Cause I seem to know a lot of technical stuff..."

Eanwin looks sad for a very good moment, contemplating something as she replies to their inquiries.  She's surprised that Alarise hasn't said anything, at this point.  Rather the woman is just sitting and listening.

"Yes...you did do this willingly...but you will get your memories back."  Eanwin clarifies, "I can return it to you after Amaranth is complete--though only in fragments.  It takes a bit of time to restore that much information and it can be too overwhelming to restore it all at once."

She listens to Belfast's inquiry, but she hesitates.  She's not sure how to answer, at first.  Finally, she sighs, "This is the second time you're going after Faeras, actually.  The first time was for the incredible amount of money and other rewards, but...I think it is safe to tell you that you went through all of this trouble for revenge.  Your fourth crewmate is dead, now, and...you all specifically asked that I don't tell you anything about that crewmate until he's been taken care of.  Of course, killing him might bring her back--they are of the same race and there is a small chance...

Believe me when I say that you each did provide good memories to start on.  You do have your muscle memory and other files at your disposal to discover some of your base skills.  I can assure you that you will each have a good place to get started to prepare against your foe."

Alarise sighs, sounding tired, "Who was our fourth crewmate, then?  How did they die?"

Eanwin shakes her head, "I cannot tell you that.  Your orders specified that explaining this to you would do more harm than good until Faeras was removed from the occasion."

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Ophelia frowns, showing the first sign of indisputable negativity since she woke up. "I don't know shit about past me, but as far as present me is concerned, she's a bitch."

So she woke up with no memories, a dead friend, an alien prostitute/therapist/AND doctor, two people in the same predicament as her, fumbling around like an idiot only to find out she was probably the second most dangerous bounty hunter alive.

She ran her hands back through her hair. "Alright, so, I think we're ready for whatever memories are in store for us." She looked at Belfast. "Assuming you can stand?"

He listened to her, nodding at her responses as he processed it all. He froze as she mentioned that this was a second attempt after a compatriot apparently bit it. Except, what? Killing him would bring her back. This put a bit of fear in him, and he rubbed his hands, then wiped them on his hands. They were sweaty.

"I'm gonna try and not be a little sketch," he said. "But it would probably have been a better idea to have us leave ourselves a message telling us this part. Did we do that?"

To answer Oph's question, he placed his feet on the floor, then wobbly stood. Thankfully, he didn't faceplant. That was good. He looked to Eanwin expectantly.

Eanwin nods her head, "You left messages for yourselves, but those were instructed to not be showed until after you've viewed the memories."

"I see," Belfast said. "Good. I mean, as long as we see it for confirmation. What does the first memory entail?"

Alarise says, "I'm beginning to not like myself either."

Eanwin stands, walking towards the opposite end of the med bay and returning with what looks like three, black marbles.  Except the marbles were a little smaller and they seemed to have a bit of white light within them, swirling at their center.  They are in a tray--a tray with indentations that perfectly fit them.

"You'll each need to sit."  Eanwin says softly with that voice of hers, "Then swallow these.  You'll have your memory, then.  You can't chew it.  You must swallow it whole."

Ophelia sits back down immediately, holding her hand out, furrowing her brows slightly.
"There's some joke about 'swallowing' back in my-" She's silent for a moment, then she snickers in realization. "Nevermind, it came to me- snrk...ah. Never mind, never mind. On with memory time."

Belfast laughed. "You beat me to it!" he said jovially. "I was gonna say that it's all a little hard to swallow!" He doubled over with mirth.

Eanwin holds out the tray, pointing out to each marble for them to take and swallow.  She is careful not to touch the marbles herself, to avoid getting any germs on them.  Alarise takes hers last and Eanwin notices that the girl looks rather unhappy as she takes it and swallows.

"Cheers!" Ophelia says almost enthusiastically, popping hers into her mouth.

Belfast is holding a shotgun in both hands, his armor tech on his back.  No more shots in the ass, good thinking--the last time he experienced that...he couldn't sit for a week.  Ophelia smiles at the thought, amused at how much he whined from having to sleep on his side.  Guess it didn't help when she slipped in some Sangyrian acid and lowered half of his bed to make it slanted.  Anyway.  Back to topic.

Belfast is on the others side of the door's frame, shotgun ready as she stands on the other with her pistol.  Suddenly, a scream--it's Alarise!  With wide eyes, Ophelia holds out her hand, "No, Bel--!"  Too late.  Belfast has panicked and he's through the door--but it's a long hallway and it'll make him easy to shoot if he doesn't dodge properly.  She follows him through, but he's turned his back and the shield activates.  He's fine.  He's walking backwards to them and Ophelia decides to be his eyes.  "On the right side."

Belfast nods, the tech packs at his hips turning to face behind him as he presses the green buttons on the end.  Twin blades shoot outwards--one takes it in the leg and he crumbles, cursing.  Not bad, Bel, not bad.  A large, bald man comes at her from the side--she didn't see him coming.  She was so busy looking beyond Belfast.  Stupid mistake.  He's on top of her, Belfast already shotgun happy into his arm just before she has tackled her.  A knee to the balls gets him down fast and she's back up, kicking his head up against the wall and knocking him unconscious.  She'd kill him, but he's not the target.  And Alarise may be in trouble.
They speed up, Belfast no longer taking frequent shots in the back.  They are backing away.  Excellent.  "Belfast, stop!  Figure in the floor.  Oh, it's two."  Belfast stumbles carefully over the bodies, looking them over to check for pulses.  When he's satisfied, he just leaves them there, passing them.  "No, me in front, now."  Belfast can't afford to keep facing away like that.  Ophelia steps forward as Belfast graciously lets her pass.  They reach the door and Ophelia kicks it open and fire shoots out immediately.  How cliche.

She's down on one knee, crouched, yelling "Get down!" to Belfast before bringing up her left arm.  There is a blade attached to her sleeve, but it extends, dropping down into a miniature, thin tower shield of a Living Mythril Steel.  The defense take the hits for them and she just waits.  They can't afford to keep wasting ammo...she looks around the barrier when she can, looking for an opening or a weakness.  However, her eyes lock onto Alarise on the floor and suddenly, rage overtakes her body and she shakes.

"Ophelia..." Belfast says behind her, "She's gonna be okay.  Don't be mad.  Alarise is fine."

It's gone through one ear and out the other.  "Oooooh,"  Ophelia says, standing straight as her eyes turn black.  The bullets freeze in the air before her.  Suddenly, a black sand and ash mixture begins to pour from her body as all color seems to drain from the area.  It piles into the floor before her, forming a giant ashen figure that is faceless.  It's at least eight feet tall with claws for fingers and the entirety of the black figure stands before her ominously.
The giant creature speaks, echoing Ophelia's words, like it always does, "Get down."  Belfast whispers, "shit" and Ophelia smiles darkly as the creature before her vanishes from sight--flickering from view as color returns to the room.  Yet, her eyes are still black as she continues to smile at her opponents, walking towards them slowly with Belfast in tow.  The guns fire again, all hitting the invisible creature before her, stopping dead in its flesh before falling to the floor.  Nothing.  The bullets mean nothing.

They begin shouting, cursing at each other and a couple of them bring out swords.  But it's too late.  Douchebag B is already pinned to the ceiling with a bunch of holes gutting him as the creature's invisible claws pull out of him and allow his body to fall to the ground.  The idiots in the room begin to panic and scream, shooting here and there while it takes them all out one by one.  None of them are the target, so...they are just in the way.

"Tell them to surrender."  Belfast says in her ear.  She looks to the ground, annoyed as she considers what their lives are worth to her.  Honestly, nothing, but to Belfast...he'll be pissed.  She sighs, "Surrender, now.  Or die now.  Your choice, boys."
Douchebag D, E, and F are smart enough to put down their guns but the other dude is now aiming at her with is weapon as she steps into the doorway.  "Attack only those that do not surrender."  The man is about to shoot, but the weapon breaks at the tip and he looks down at it with horror or as the thing grabs him by the throat and tosses him against the wall.  He falls unconscious.  Ophelia moves up to Alarise, lying upon the floor with bullet wounds all in her shoulder.  She frowns, "Shit."

Neamhain (Nyav-en) is beautiful with her bleach-white skin and silver hair.  Never did Belfast think that he could feel this way about an odd looking alien like she.  Even when she's deadly, she's gorgeous, every time.  She is crouched behind the tech barrier that Belfast had made, her sniper perked over the edge from afar as she watches the battle in the distance through her scope.  Alarise and Ophelia were giving it their all, but they were outnumbered and Neamhain hasn't dispatched near enough of them.  Tears stream down her face as she watches Ophelia's form go down.  She can only summon a few times a day...now she's out.  They are going to die.

"They aren't."  Belfast says, suddenly there as if he could read her mind.   Neamhain pushes down the tears, shaking her head, "You are going to save them.  You know what you have to do and you know you can do it."

Neamhain looks down at the mark on her hand, the one matching his.  More tears fall and she feels hopelessness seep into her core.  Nothing had gone right in this mission.  Every single thing that could go wrong did, all of her plans have gone to ruin.  This is just bullshit.  Now, they are both down and surrounded and there's nothing she can do abo--

"Yes.  You can do it,"  Belfast says softly, his hand on her shoulder.  As he touches her, his eyes go red.  "Quit reading my heart-Belfa--!"  Neamhain begins.  His red eyes glow and suddenly her demeanor changes as her eye returns to her scope with full focus and a with a look of determination.
She can do this and she will.  She just has to take out the original and the copies will die.  She searches, searches.  They are almost there, reaching the barrier all too soon.  The barrier's defenses kick in as soon as the hostiles come in range, shambling and running towards her.  It electrocutes them and as they fall, Neamhain takes a shot, knocking out the two that were over the girls, almost ready to kill them.  She stands, to see over the others headed their way as Belfast starts to get shotgun happy.  Her focus returns with ease, panic all gone and distress pulled away.  She takes the shot.  She misses, but the copies fade.  He's lost his concentration.

The rifle begins to shake and Neamhain drops it an grabs at one of the keys around her neck.  Belfast takes her arm and she looks at him with irritation as she tries to pull away.  Belfast knows, though.  She's used the keys too much today.  "I'll do it," he says.  She shakes her head, picking the gun back up, "No.  You don't like killing, I know that."

"I'll do it," Belfast repeats.  His eyes are red again, but this time, a red, transparent staff is in his hands as he leaps two hundred feet forward into the air and straight in front of the target.  His staff becomes a spear as the tip sharpens, his strike coming to bear down on the man's torso as he tries to run to the girls for hopes of a hostage.  It pierces through his torso and neck as the target is impaled and Belfast lands as though the impact could not bother him.  The transparent weapon vanishes and a corpse hit the ground.(edited)
Neamhain meets him halfway with a dark, depressed expression.  Her face is still wet from the tears.  Although his insides burn with the pain of taking a life, he smiles at her.  Belfast tries to cheer her up,  "Told ya, my girl.  Nobody dies today."

"You always do that," Neamhain complains, "You always use that shit to make everybody feel good.  And you wonder why no one shows up to your damn parties.  It would end up in some freaky orgy or something."

Belfast laughs at the joke--she knew he needed cheering up, too, but Alarise is already standing again.  She's got Ophelia by the arm, dragging her across the bloody floor and they both look at her like she's insane.  "What?  She won't know, she's out."

The wounds of the target immediately heal--he's not dead.  Just unconscous, now.  His special weapon made sure of that.  He looks over at Alarise and points at their bounty.  "Well, tie him up, then."

Alarise groans, "It's always me that's gotta do it."

Alarise snaps out of her memory with a look of anger, moving over to Belfast and punching him in the face.  Luckily, they were already out of their memories, so it'll save her the trouble of having to punch him again when he finally did come out of it.  Actually, that would have been better...

Eanwin, surprised, gasps, but she doesn't stand from her chair.  She's surprised, but not too surprised.  Go figure.  With a scrunched up look of anger, she says, "You keep stealing my kills, Chubs, and we're gonna have a problem.  You can take that tree-hugging, all-life-matters mentality elsewhere!  This is a damned business, we track down criminals, for Gaia's sake, we didn't come here to look pretty, blink at the targets, and ask them nicely to board our prison ship!"

Ophelia jolted, coming down from her memory, bracing herself back on her hands briefly before hunching other, touching her face to make sure that was real, that waking up was real.

Well, the roster hadn't lied, she was a badass, that's for damn sure. IS a badass. It was like realizing where you were after waking up in confusion; or at least who you were. She was scared, yeah, but not scared of the not knowing, she was scared of knowing what the hell she could do. She knew what that was, but she couldn't name it; it felt familiar, the way a gun feels in your hand when you've had it for long enough.

But Belfast, while she didn't remember him specifically, the memories between then; she remembered it, the concern, the tough love, she got that part. She got the worry; the practical concern buried deep in her chest like a bullet that hadn't been pulled out- he was a softie, and damn if she wasn't. She understood the pragmatism, even now, even with all her memories pulled out, she understood the anger, the hatred, the not caring if those thugs had lived or died.

And Alarise- it was like that fresh panic had hit her like a wave all over again, like re-experiencing a bad dream. She felt the urge to wrap her arms around her, to check if she was okay, once she moved her hands down from her face; she saw her

Knocking Belfast directly in the face.

"Woah, woah, woah; Al, hold on!" Was that a nickname she had for her, or one borne just now out of just remembered fondness? She didn't know. She jumped up, moving between the two, ready to stand between them if she decided to whack him again.

He felt tears coming to his eyes. "You said this guy uses memories against us," he began quietly, "and my go-to is to show me the love of my life in pa--"

His words were cut off by an angry fist slamming into his face. When he had his wits about him, Ophelia stood between him and Alarise. "What...what was that for...?" he said bemusedly, hurt in his voice.

Alarise sighs, realizing that his memory left emotions with him, too, just like hers did.  "I-I'm sorry,"  She says, "Look.  We were in a fight, me and Ophelia going at it like a bunch of badasses--me kicking and punchin' and she's shooting and slashing and flipping and we're yelling out the numbers of the ones we've killed.  I almost won!  I almost beat her for the first time!  And then you come in with your stupid red sword thing and take him right out from under me with this 'oh, I can sense that he's still got good in him' crap.  Agh!"

After a pause, she brings her fists down and crosses them with a pout, "And I wanted to be cooler.  Seriously, all I could do is open some fucking doors with my brain?  Are you serious?!  I'm a fucking door opener!"

Ophelia raises her arms placatingly towards Alarise. "Listen, you're selling yourself short. And I'm sure you'll beat me- god it feels weird as shit to say that- we're all damn good. But just because Bel's a bleeding heart who insists on the whole 'oh don't kill everyone!' thing doesn't mean you didn't wreck ass in whatever your memory was." She lowers her hands, looking at her with kindness caused by all the emotions brought back by her memory. "Look, this seems to be a fresh start; for now. We're in the top four for a damn good reason, I am, you are, Belfast is; but I doubt whatever happened in what you remembered is any reason to clock the guy. He's doing what he things is right and moral and all that ga-...stuff."

"Sorry," Alarise says again, shrugging away from her.

Ophelia looks kind of hurt this time, her face scrunching up for a moment before she tries to break the silence.

"What did you see? Or did past you really just wanna show us shooting shit."

"I saw...I saw that somehow, I knew that they were gonna hit me.  Where they were gonna hit me.  And I could avoid it."  She says slowly, hesitating, "I don't fully understand it, but...I know that--I knew that it wasn't my fate to die, yet.  So I was calm.  I was okay.  That's really all there was, other than me opening a damn door."

Eanwin smiles knowingly, but she stands, holding out a necklace to each of them.  On the end of each one, a storage device.  "These are your personal messages to yourselves.  Give them a listen when you're ready.  Something may be explained...other things won't.  When you're ready to train, the battle hall is on the floor below this one.   If you want to eat, sleep...anything, really....Pilot will guide you."

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JerriLeah7 3rd June 2017, 7:10 pm

Alarise sits in her room and puts the data port into her mainframe with ease.  Simple stuff to remember, apparently.  The video immediately plays and Alarise looks at herself sitting there, staring back at her with a knowing look.  She's instantly annoyed at herself.  She didn't know, though.  She didn't.  She sighs as she listens to herself talk.

"I know you feel useless right now, and the memory I chose will be vague..."  Alarise in the recording begins, "I had to, though.  Your abilities are complex and I couldn't possibly explain them to you, not through any single memory.  However, when you go through the training exercises...you'll figure it out, I promise.  I swear, once you get this guy, your memories will be..."

Alarise tunes herself out, scoffing at herself as she is inwardly incensed at the situation.  They really chose to kill this one dude over their own damned memories?  What the serious fuck?!  Alarise's gaze jerks up the version of her on the screen waves her hand distractingly.

"Oi!  Pay attention," Alarise says, scowling at herself knowingly, "You don't know me, but I know you.  Please listen to this next part.  It's important."

"Yeah, yeah," Alarise says at the screen.

"...this asshole is worth five million credits.  Five million...."

Alarise's jaw drops.

"You take him down...you can even afford for the Sharey to have a baby!  You could do so much for things that you don't remember, I mean it.  You just have to get in, take him down.  Look up the info on his species--whatever you need to know, work as a team with these asshats you'll come to know again and above all else, trust each other.  You can trust each other, you've save each other so many times.  You've taken down so many marks and you can take this one down."

Alarise turns it off.  Now she sounds like some kind of preaching cheerleader that's trying to damned hard to sound hopeful.  Unfortunately, that hope was false and Alarise can tell.  She can see it in her eyes--there's hopelessness in them.  There's desperation.  Just what happened to make her look like that?  Why does she seem so scared and why does it seem doubtful of their success?

Alarise struggles with these thoughts and questions as she heads towards the training hall.  As she doesn't remember where it is, she presses the console and asks for directions to the place.  The face that appears on the console makes her physically jump, though.  It looks...strange, but familiar.

"Pilot here,"  He says, "We'll talk and walk, just listen to my voice on the intercom and I'll guide you.  Nice to see you again, though, Al..."

Alarise smiles, "Um, yeah.  You, too, I think."

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by EphPhoenix 7th June 2017, 2:47 pm

Following the ship's guidance, Belfast went to his room with the video in question. His jaw still stung where Ali had decked him. Holy crap, that girl can hit. I hope my job on the crew isn't "punching bag"...

He propped himself on his bed and activated the video. Immediately, he popped up on the screen -- sitting in a comfortable recliner in a red robe with black hearts and matching red bunny slippers. In his hand was a lit pipe and his hair was slicked back -- with a monocle?! He wasn't even going to comment on that monstrosity of a mustache. It was so bushy he wasn't sure anything could trim that! He shuddered as he felt his face. He'd make sure he shaved often.

"Jolly good," his self said with an impeccably British accent. "I'm sure you're full of questions, my good bean. Sadly, I can only answer a few. Vagueness until you're ready, dear boy." He raised an eyebrow. "I've been warned the memory loss could...change us. I sincerely hope I haven't lost my beautiful accent -- she said the physiological effects could alter muscle memory. Dear god I hope you don't sound like some damnable castrati..."

Belfast blinked in utter confusion. That didn't sound plausible -- unless somehow it affected other physical structures other than the brain? But the brain was a connection of--he suddenly heard uproarious laughter. His past self was doubled over on the screen, slumped against one of the arms of the rocker, laughing for all he was worth.

"Oh my god!" he exclaimed, sucking in air desperately before he began laughing more. "I can...I can only imagine what you look like, right now!" Belfast noted the accent was gone. "Yeah, that was a load of horseshit."

Belfast couldn't help it. He laughed with himself. "Th-that was pretty good!" he said in between chuckles.

After another couple of minutes, both of them managed to regain composure, though both would slip out the occasional chuckle. Belfast Prime, the guy on the video, suddenly threw off the robe and monocle, mussed his hair up, and revealed a more laid back set of work gear.

"Okay," he said, suddenly going all business. "I gotta level with ya. This is some serious crap ya done landed yourself in. And...as you know from the memory, the love of our life is on the line. And our friends. I don't envy you your role in all this, but it's the most important. You're the heart.

Those two knucklehead partners of yours? Powerful as all get out, tough as nails, and hell on wheels. But they're reckless. Both with their lives and the lives of others. It's a full time job supportin' those two, but it's worth it. They force you to up your game, push your limits, bring out strength you didn't know you had. Basically, love --" he cringed "--in one of the most fucked ways you can imagine. Maybe that's why we're 6th best bounty hunter or some such."

"4th, Belfast," he heard Eanwin's voice correct Prime off screen.

"Oh. Right," Prime said awkwardly. "Eh. Who cares, anyway?" He cringed again. "Okay, the knuckleheads do. Be prepared for a lot of ego." He grinned. "But you'll never regret it."

He looked suddenly wistful. "That's it, man," he told him. "It's hard, but you got this. Just remember to hold to what's right and don't waver. Easier said than done, I know. Just focus on heart, man, and the rest lays itself out." Prime gave him a wink and then the screen cut out.

Belfast sat there for a moment, processing. "What fresh hell did I put myself in...?"

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JulietHasAGun 11th June 2017, 12:15 pm

Ophelia, eager to unwind after whatever that hullabaloo was, allowed the ship to guide her to her room.

She looked curiously at the storage device Eanwin had given her- well, each of them. It seemed so surreal, what would 'she' have to say to herself? 'Hello, I'm you with all your memories, sorry I dropped you into a steaming pot of shit but it'll all be worth it when you kill this guy. Did you expect me to leave you with instructions? Hurr Hurr Hurr.'

Uuuugh. Past her suuuucked.

She popped the memory drive in, reclining in her seat, waiting for the video to play.

Sure enough, on screen, there she was; well, her, but not her.

There she sat, reclining in her chair, staring at the camera, with one arm draped over it, amusement teasing on her lips.

"This thing on, Enna? Am I doing this right?" Her voice sounded so sure despite the question. "Fantastic. Well bonjourino future me-erino." Her past self twiddled her fingers at her.

"Now, I'm sure you're confused as shit; you already met the two weirdos Enna is telling you are your friends- you're thinking 'wow, past me was a total fucking bitch for dropping me into this steaming pile of horse shit'. Right?" She leaned forward towards the camera, a wily grin on her face.

Was that a tattoo on her arm?

"Well, news flash, yes I am- and you are too, and that's what's gonna help you make it through this. You're welcome."

It was, it was a skull, in a bramble of roses; how didn't she remember she had a tattoo?

"You- well, we, have never had an easy lot in life. Before you were a bountyhunter, guess what! You were a prostitute, so be nice to Enna- I don't care how many bawdy jokes come to your head; and I know we can come up with some good ones, she doesn't need our shit." She saw herself lean back and grin to someone off camera. "So here's the deal. You're in some shit. You, Al, Belfy- In. Some. Shit. One of you guys' friends just got offed by some charcoal paint dickhead, and the only way to beat him is to get our memories sucked out. Enna explained this to you; but I'm gonna explain it to you in a way you're gonna understand."

Ophelia found herself leaning towards the monitor; wondering what the hell she had to do to get that attitude back because damn was past her sure of herself.

"Someone fucked with you. He fucked with your family. People don't get off on fucking with your family. So you, and Belfast, and Alarise- you are going to roar, and go screaming through the stars, and bring back this guys head on a stick. You're afraid. You're pants shittingly terrified, even though you don't want to admit it." She flicked a piece of hair out of her face. "But you wanna know the beautiful thing about you, us? We're gonna do it anyway. Fear; fear is a powerful thing. People hear the word 'fear' and think, 'oh, fuck, that's bullshit- I'm not afraid!'. They think it means 'weakness'."

"Fear isn't weakness, it means you're being smart. And no matter what anyone else heresays; you're the most street smart meatsack on this ship." She leaned back, the video was ending, she could tell. "I don't even know why I'm telling you any of this, you're me- memories or not, you're gonna do fine. I chose that memory for you for a reason.

Someone's made you feel afraid, helpless, and now you're going to make that asshole feel the same. Damn. Way."

She went back into her reclining position, hand slung over her chair. "Toodles!"

Ophelia jumped from her chair, "Wait!" She said.

At the projection of her past self.

Like an idiot.

That didn't answer shit! Literally! It was a pep talk from a woman, her, who sounded like she'd never given a pep talk in her life!

"Uuuuugh," She ran her hands down her face. "I...am so boned."

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JerriLeah7 28th June 2017, 5:41 pm

Alarise is in the training room. It's a big room with four separate floor mats--very squishy mats. They've got to be made of some kind of strange substance. It's thin, but it feels thick. It's soft, yet still easy enough to walk on. She feels like this is the perfect thing to brawl on, but it looks alien with its burnt-orange, gel-like appearance and its impossible physics.

There's a console in the center of the room, placed on a raised platform that is carefully positioned between the four mats. She moves to it and a holographic screen pops up with a list on it. The console must have detected her movement or her body heat or something. She doesn't know how it works, but she wasn't really surprised when the screen appeared, either.

Looking through the list, it as various levels: "Training A, B, C...Challenge Yourself, Wishlist." With an uncertain gaze, she asks herself out loud, "Which one is the easiest?"

A voice replies and she jumps as the VI's voice from inside the medical bay is heard from this console, "Alarise, your simplest training program is Training A. It covers your martial arts capabilities, specifically the basics."

With a deep breath to calm herself, Alarise asks with an annoyed tone, "Okay. Well, what's 'Wishlist' and 'Challenge Yourself?'"

The VI replies, "Your list 'Challenge Yourself' trains your magical capabilities. Your list 'Wishlist' trains both physical and magical capabilities at the same time."

"Ah." Alarise replies, looking to the different mats and then back to the console. She selects "Challenge Yourself" and then moves onto a mat. Music erupts within the room, a fast paced fun song as the VI's voice says, "Level One." Several spheres pop up into the room--she didn't see where they came from. Looking from each one to the other, her eyes daring every which way to try to count them.

There's at least four, but they are all moving around so fast. Her hands are already up defensively, but none of them attack...or anything. They just spin around her. Just what is she supposed to be doing with these damned things? Alarise had hoped that this would reveal something to her...but nothing. She scowls, standing still as she looks at the damned annoying orbs, trying to figure out what in the hell she's meant to do with them.

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Post by JulietHasAGun 5th July 2017, 5:11 pm

Ophelia, having engaged in a rather dramatic verbal altercation with what she assumed was a closet, now nervously fiddled with the tattooed surface of her arm.

'Must have been some kind of badass to pull off this edgy shit.' She thought to herself, fingernails nervously running over her skin.

She'd opted out of sleeves, having resolved herself to try to see if she retained any of her former selfs combat prowess. She doubted it, but if they were going to be hunting down some ashy fuck who killed one of theirs, she supposed she'd have to try.

The ship directed her down to the training room, and through numerous wrong turns and overshoots, she makes it to her destination.

'Looks like someone got here before me,' She observed the orbs before she saw Alarise, looking like she was having some trouble managing.

'Should I go in? Would she think I'm intruding. Shit, does she need help? Of course she doesn't, and if you insinuated that to her she'd punch you in your non existent nads.' Ophelia furrowed her eyebrows, settling for watching what Alarise would do. She had no idea what the other woman was capable of- Belfast? Sure, she had a vague idea. But Alarise was now a mystery to her. So, she decided to just kick back, and enjoy the show.

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

The orbs float in the air, taunting Alarise silently, perfectly still with their levitation as the fast-paced music continues over the comms. She shrugs, turning to the console at the center of the room and moving to it so as to change her playlist. However, her instincts kick in--or well, whatever it is. She knows what's coming, somehow. With a swift turn back to the orb on her immediate right, she runs and jumps, dodging as three of the orbs fire dart-like projectiles in her direction.

She jumps, grabbing the orb in her hands and facing it to the others, shooting them down, one and then two before dropping down and crushing it under her feet after her fall. She gasps, backing away. What did she just do? How did she make that jump? How did she know which ones were going to shoot? None of the others had fired....they all simply stood in the air, waiting. She doesn't have much time to think about it--she knows another will fire--but just one.

She jumps again, grabbing another floating orb and tossing it to the one that fires--the firing orb hits that one, instead. By now, she's closer and she jump-kicks it out of the air and into the wall, where it shatters. The orbs fire at her in different numbers and in different, random time sets. Sometimes, it's just a second before one strikes, but sometimes it's about thirty or just ten. It varies, just as the amount of orbs that attack at once does. Yet, somehow, she always knows when they are going to strike--how many and right before they do, as well as which ones will strike.

Several minutes of this gets exhausting--all the jumping is annoying, but the movements feel familiar. It isn't long before she's grinning, enjoying it. Challenging, indeed. Suddenly, she halts, freezing up as her smile dissipates. She can sense it--Ophelia is there and she's about to be the next target. She looks to her, running her way instantly with warning in her eyes, "Ophelia! MOVE!"

Forget Me Nots Role-Play Empty Re: Forget Me Nots Role-Play

Ophelia is content to watch; admiring as Alarise seems to have a sixth sense when it comes to detecting the projectiles. She moved with such fluidity, such sureness; like she knew where the next projectile was going to come from.

It was probably how she knew the next one was coming for her.

Ophelia, unfortunately, did not possess Alarise's magical ability of keen perception. Too entranced and amazed by the moves before her; she hardly snapped out of it in time for the sphere to sink one of the dart like projectiles directly into her eye. She wanted to stop it; to pluck it out of the air; she could see floating black particles dance at her cheeks, but nothing happened. Her arms did not move.

It hurt. Dammit it hurt. But she wasn't dead. No, she could still see Alarise's mortified face, the orbs bouncing about in the air. Why, why was she sinking? The world seemed to be tinted a sepia color, and she felt something warm wash over the right side of her face; below the eye that had been hit. She could see it; it was uncomfortable, but she could make out the dart stuck inside her eye.

'What the fuck' She tried to whisper; but the words didn't come out. Her lips didn't even move, why couldn't she move? Her gave shifted, moving down, first Alarise's mortified expression, then Alarise's frozen legs, then the floor; like her head was now turned down. She felt it; felt her vision fading, her gaze darkening- the deep sepia being overcome with blackness until-

She gasped, jolting back, pressing herself fully against the wall as her head snapped bolt upright. She heard the dull 'clink' of the dart hitting the floor; the dart that was once embedded pretty solidly in her fucking eye.

"What the fuck," She whispered, only this time the words came out. She looked up, still in full scale panic mode, at the orb that had shot her. She didn't know if it was getting ready to stick another blow dart in her corneas; just as she was about to jolt up and scramble away- the black particles seemed to form...something.

A whispy black arm reached out; from the cloud of specks, of black dust and matter, and smashed the orb into the ground.

Over,

And over,

And over again.

As it faded before it could even fully take form. Ophelia scrambled away, still stuck on her behind as that thing reduced the orb to a collapsed pulp.

After a moment of silence on her part, she looked up to Alarise, unsure of what to say.

"I wonder if this means I owe Eanwin a new orb?"

She should have just stuck with silence.
