The Reapers Role-Play

[ATTN: Open]

It didn't feel like he was waking up. The darkness around him was the same darkness he saw while sleeping. It felt more like he was simply becoming... attentive again.

The first thing Thain noticed after the darkness was the cool - though really, everything was cool in comparison to the desert. He reached for his pendant about his neck, his prayer necklace, brushing against the Lady's insignia and thinking a wordless question as he looked around, trying to figure out what was going on.

While it was dark, he could still see - though, what was there to see, but the void? What was this? He reached for his bow, pulling it from his back and reaching for his quiver of arrows, feeling fear suddenly spike through him. He drew an arrow, holding it between his teeth as he reached for his marble pendant again for comfort.

He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm the dread that sank in his stomach, trying to listen for the voice of his patron. Wherever he was, he had to be able to contact him -

Nothing. Not a whisper, not a sigh.

His grip on his pendant tightened, and he opened his eyes again with a start. Where was he?

{ATTN:OPEN}
Choukichi Soutarou wakes up but feels a sleep still he seems to be in a dark forest. next to him is his kendo stick and Red 9 and a few clips.

Choukichi Soutarou gets up from laying on the filty floor and picks up the red 9 and kendo stick along with the ammo thats laying there. he blindly walks around in the dark forest only to find him self in a town.

he looks around and sees that it's dark in the town as well. he sighs, he enters a random building.

"where could a flashlight or map be at" he said to him self he was digging through the house for a map or flashligh and found nothing. he sighed again, then sat in a chair. he listend to everythign around him and hears nothing not even an animle. sighing yet again he just sits there and trys to come up with a plan.

[ATTN: Thain]

The red eyes glow within the darkness, starting off incredibly small and quickly growing in size, coming frighteningly close. No sound is heard--not from movement, nor breathing. It becomes close, these red eyes, as a long exhale can finally be heard, echoing out into the space. An almost black form can be seen.

The cold, cutting voice speaks, rasping into his core: "Define thyself."



[ATTN: Soutarou]

The darkness begins to take shape--all the shadows twisting and bunching together to make shapes and eventually taking on color. He soon finds himself standing in what appears to be a cathedral, large and elegant in its massive size. Yet, there is something wrong here. The wood is still rich, the decorations still fine and intricate.

The glass, however, is black. Throughout the entirety of the structure, no cross can be found--not one holy or religious symbol. Rather, it almost looks as if the building is decaying more and more as the seconds go by. The walls and ceiling crack, the benches threaten to tilt and crumble. The light slowly dims more and more...

[ATTN: Thing]

Thain pulled his arrow from between his teeth as the eyes appeared in the darkness, notching it to his bowstring and drawing quickly, training the arrow on the eyes and taking a startled step back as they sudden came rushing closer. His fingers twitched on the string, but he held his fire as the thing stopped, uncertain.

He reached for his magic, cursing that he hadn't had the foresight to reach for one of his statues in his bag before drawing. He forced himself to breathe slowly, pulling on his magic just enough that faint sparks of static could be seen bouncing off his fingertips and darting down shaft of the arrow.

He froze as someone spoke, his hands shaking on the bowstring before he steadied himself. "Thain Tormond," he said, trying to sound confident. "Vassal of Thar, one of the Five under Our Lady." He thought a prayer before he spoke next. "Define thyself," he said.

[Attn: Open]

Bentley stirred on the cold ground, slowly coming back to consciousness. As soon as Bentley's senses woke up as well, everything felt wrong. The stylings of Antonio Vivaldi wasn't playing on the record player, the soft, warm light that trickled through the windows seemed nonexistent, the polished marble floor felt more like hard stone. There was no way Bentley was in his lady's mansion. He found himself in something far different.

The red-haired butler slowly opened his eyes as he got to one knee. The view that surrounded Bentley was mortifying. It was like looking out into the floor of an abyss. Bentley stood on both legs and dusted off his clothes. How could he end up in such a dismal place after just reading a book in the mansion's living room? Bentley strained to remember the events that took place before waking up, but all he remembered was reading his book.

It was then that the man noticed the frame of his glasses was slightly bent. Bentley let out a sigh before bending the frame back into shape. He was almost relieved to be occupied by fixing his glasses. There was an unusual sense of panic building up deep inside him, and his glasses was just the thing to distract him from the growing fear. After placing his glasses back on his face, Bentley extended the hidden blade in his sleeve. The metal was spotless, and still retained its gleam.

Is this a dream? Bentley wondered to himself. The guards should have prevented any intruder from coming inside. Unless...the infiltrator somehow sneaked in and incapacitated me before I could react...And yet...still... Bentley was overcome with feelings of hatred and abhor. Not only was he upset that a dangerous criminal had gotten into the mansion, but also that he couldn't even stop whoever it was. Bentley hastily walked off in one direction, determined to get out of the abyss and make sure his lady was safe.

Choukichi Soutarou notice a sudden change to the room he was in. it was some what brighter yet dark still and it gets dimmer each second that passes then before though it was still creepy. Choukichi takes hold of his red 9 and explores the cathedral looking for either a map or some form of newspaper. yet still haven't found any thing but locked door this included the front door. only 2 doors opened one was to a hallway the other was to a confession room. he decied to explore the confession room first. on the table he found a key to one of the doors. unaware of which door it went too he kept exploring the room he looked at some of the books but all the titles of the bookes were unreadable or were scrached out. he founf one book that wasn't harmed he pulls it out and flips throw it.


Choukichi closed the book and put it back and turned around only to see that the building seems to slowly be decaying. he leaves that room and heads for the hallway. in the hallway eh felt unsafe so he held tightly to his red 9. when he gets to the end of the hall he notice the door was locked he sighed then remembered the key. he used the key on the door if you know it it didn't work. he turned back to go down the hallway and the door slowly opened squeaking as it opened.

Choukichi quickly turns around aiming the gun at the door to see nothing but more darkness. he eneters the room unaware what was inside. it seemed like it was the priest's room. "Theres bound to be newspapers or a map in here heck even a flash light or candle would be nice!" he told him self he seached each drawer of each dresser and found nothing but a blank piece of paper. the fire place was unlit Choukichi felt hopeless. as he was leaveing the room he smelled smoke he looked at the fire place it was lit he picks up one of the large yet thin logs and used it as a torch to see through the darkness which was getting darker and darker the building now smelled of death and decay.

he walks past the bed as something fell on it. he looks and sees it was another key to the building. he fears something or some one is watching him. he grabs the key and leaves back to the main room which seems brighter then the others. he sits on one of the decaying benches as he studies the key wondering which of the hundreds of doors it could go to. he knows something is wrong he knows something is after him now.

Thain turned as something appeared, nearly letting the arrow fly as a girl appeared out of nowhere, grinning mischievously at him. He scowled at her, releasing his hold on his magic and loosening his draw on his bow, keeping the arrow nocked.

He stumbled back as the girl nearly tackled him, overwhelmed. "Whoa, wait, hold on!" he said, dropping his lofty tone. "Who are you?" he asked, finally freeing himself and backing away, returning his arrow finally to it's quiver. "Wait..." he said, frowning. "Spirits?" he asked, confused, looking around them, lost. "I'm sorry," he said, narrowing his eyes, sounding almost lost. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about..."

[ATTN: Ryla]

He only stared at her.

"I can't be dead," he finally said, reaching up for his pendant. This was all wrong. Where was everything Thar had spoken of? The gates, the scales, the Five...

He reached again for his presence, finding nothing. He bit back a moment of panic. Alright. Stay calm... Something must have gone wrong, if he was dead. Maybe he was in some sort of limbo? But why?

He suddenly narrowed his eyes at her. "How do you know my name?" Thain asked. "And the desert?"

[ATTN: Soutarou]

As he sat upon one of the benches, the ice cold key in his hand, the doors open, banging loudly against the inner walls as the wind rushes in, blowing in leaves from the outdoors--or at least what should be outdoors. Yet, there is no environment out there. Just darkness and shadows.

Then, a light appears just outside of the entrance of the Cathedral. A perfect circle of a light, bright and shooting up into what should be a sky. Then, another appears. And another. They seem to lead forward into a path, dimming only after he has passed them--if he follows them, that is.

After a time, the color of the light changes when two paths fork out before him, the left side becoming a dark purple in hue and the right side becoming a deep orange. Due to the colors, these provide less light, which might change one's opinion on how "inviting" they appear. Regardless, they both lead on, promising mystery...


[ATTN: Thain, Ryla]

The ground begins to shake violently as a deep, hollow sound of what might be suction can be heard, growing in volume and intensity in a matter of seconds...it seems to be coming from up above. The air grows cold, though one's soul wouldn't normally feel cold...would it?

Then, a swishing sound can be heard as a giant scythe, about three times larger than any normal scythe should be, swings down at the heads of both Ryla and Thain with a quick, agile movement that almost seems to be from nowhere.

The skeletal creature appears at the weapons end, its eyeless face grinning back as it flies levitates above them with shadows growing thicker all about them...


[ATTN: Bentley]

As he finds himself with consciousness, a small ringing can be heard in his ears, as if there were electronics nearby humming with their high tones that humans can't normally hear. A growl is heard from behind, and when he turns, a wolf is there, crouched and wild with matted fur that appears to be soaked in blood.

Its teeth, too, are sharp and bloodstained, as its eyes glow a bright yellow, its countenance a menacing hatred, or perhaps hunger as it begins to circle its prey...

[Attn: Open]

Before Bentley got far, he heard a strange stringing behind him. Bentley decided to disregard it, intent on only getting out of there. He then heard growling, which caused him to quickly look behind him. There was a wolf, feral and savage. Bentley channeled the fury in his heart toward the wolf, seeing it more as an obstacle than a danger.

"I will not let some bloody dog keep me from m'lady! Scatter, pest, or taste the cold steel of my blade!" Bentley held an imposing stance with his blade at the ready. His muscles were tensed enough to react within a second.

Lights appeared before Choukichi Soutarou, with his low level intellegence in mythology he knows that any form of light that apperars with out a sorces is known as a will o' wisp creatcures that guide travalers to there death or to prosparity or just make them more lost, it was up to him to choose to follow them or keep exploring. he decided to follow them to the entrance of the cathedral there they split in to two diffrent colors. know that both lead to the inedable and both paths lead in to the darkness. though he sences a pressences down both paths even though the out side use to have trees and other buildings it's not nothing but emptiness.

"Which way the dark purple or deep orange both lead me some where unsafe or maybe somewhere safe either way i'll be alone in total darkness."

he remembers the burning log he was useing for a torch he goes back and grabs in then follows the deep orange path. though it was emptiness it sound as if he was back in the forest though there were no trees and no grass. in the as he kept walking forward he started to get hungry. he looked around but there was nothing not even a house he knew that the will o' wisp were guiding him to hes death... deah by starvation.

Amaterasu opened her eyes and stood to her feet, immediately disliking the atmosphere around her. She gave a small whimper and looked around for her companion, Issun, but he was no where to be found. She could feel the darkness around her, and she let out a howl of loneliness. After doing so, she started moving forward, determined to find her way out of this strange land back to her beloved nippon. The familer presence of her reflector disc was on her back, and the spirits of her powers were still there, so she knew that not all hope was lost.

[ATTN: Ryla, Reaper]

Thain looked up, eyes widening as the thing appeared above them, reaching for his bag and his statues in there before Ryla tackled him to the ground.

The scythe flashed above their heads, and he managed to scramble in his bag for a lesser statue, a small clay pedestal with a yellow bolt inscribed on it, and smashed it on the ground. He could feel the mana stored in the statue adding to his store, and Ryla dragged him to his feet, starting to pull him away to run.

He didn't ask questions, only started to focus his energy if he had to let off a shot.

{ATTN:Taichleach}
Choukichi Soutarou was still blindly following the will o' wisp when another creature appeared it was some kind of stone bird thing. he said "greetings human" then said and asked "I am Taichleach the gargoyle. Mightn't you be able to tell me where we currently find ourselves?"

Choukichi Soutarou didn't understand his wording but he knew thta it had to be friendly.

"Um hello there Taichleach i'm Choukichi Soutarou, but please keep your voice down something is off about this place, and to answer your question i can only tell you is this is mearly a road between whats seems like Life and death the path of judgement."

Choukichi Soutarou noticed the bird thing had a sword, he then rethinks on how to approch his target he grabs hold of his kendo stick and waits for the stone bird thing to make it's move though a kendo stick won't do much.

"may i ask you something, do you have food on you, anything will do as long as i can eat it?"

[ATTN: Ryla, Thain]

They run--fleeing before the dark figure as the scythe comes at them again. A screech can be heard as the thing calls with a wrathful tone, the scythe striking and down at its targets yet again, missing them and striking a tombstone, instead.

They are suddenly in a graveyard again, surrounded by gravestones and occasional trees in a few areas where the bodies aren't strewn about under the ground. The tombstones near them that was attacked crumbles to the ground as the creature backs away, seeming to vanish from sight--but a deep, creepy laughter can be heard.

And then the hands strike up from the earth, skeletons rising from the ground, forgetting that they are dead. The skeletal remains all move forward swiftly, moving to attack their targets as swords, shields, axes and other various things appear in their hands.



[ATTN: Ameratsu, Bentley]

Ameratsu hears something in the distance--a feral wolf's growl as it circles Bentley--its new prey. The creature's eyes glow a bit more as it moves a bit more closely, sniffing at the man. A thick, black ooze seems to start to drip from its mouth. It continues to circle Bentley until he is surrounded by the black ooze in a circular pattern.

The wolf lunches in to attack as the black ooze suddenly lights up and is on fire--surrounding the man and ensuring that there is no escape. Yet, now Ameratsu can see the light in the distance, as well, and it seems to radiate a strong heat in his direction.



[ATTN: Taichleach, Soutarou]

The "ground" shakes as they find themselves on what appears a flat, grassy lands. However, the flat lands shake more violently, enough to make it difficult to stand, as the ground ten feet from them on one side beings to dip downwards, slowly forming enough of a dip to house a lake or a pond.

Sure enough, the center of the dip begins to fill up with a black liquid, black water that rises up until it reaches the top of that dip and fills the "pond" up completely. All is silent as the something begins to rise up from the center of the waters, causing the surface to ripple outwards as the water rises up above the lower pond and takes the form of what appears to be a door, albeit a black and liquid-like one.

the stone bird said it didn't have food Choukichi Soutarou dind't mind atleast he meet another life force.
a few mins passed and the ground started to shake causeing Choukichi to fall down he then go up after all the shaking and there was a black fluid pond with a door appeared in the center. he fells unsure about the door and he knows a kendo stick won't do much he pulls out his red 9 and backs up as he aims at the door.

"So which way in to the door or in to the darkness behind us? it's your call though i must say for a stone bird thing you must be a fast mover if you can swing that sword"

Choukichi Soutarou relized that Taichleach couldn't be trusted either. so he decided to keep an eye on his back at all times just to prevent any misunderstanding

"Hey, can i trust you? i mean if we decide to go through the door can i trust you to carry me over there to open it?"

Choukichi Soutarou knows that the black fluid couild be either dirty water , tar, or death.

Amaterasu's ears perk up when she hears the wolf's growls. They didn't sound friendly at all, but it was the only thing she currently had to go on, so she decided to go towards it. She started to run, and then there was a light before her, generating the familier strong heat of fire.

She arrived just in time to see a wolf leap at a human who's only protection appeared to be a blade he held in his hand. She gave a few vicious barks at the other wolf, her lips drawing back into a snarl, hopefully she could get the other animal's attention.

[Attn: Open, Amaterasu]

Bentley kept his blade pointed at the beast's snout, sheer determination on his face, Bentley thought he was facing some strange species of dog until a thick, black substance began dripping from its mouth. Is that some sort of saliva? I've never seen an animal salivate like that before... Bentley thought to himself.

The wolf then jumped at Bentley as a ring of the black ooze turned into flames. With little room to dodge, Bentley braced for the impact and kept his blade towards the creature. As soon as it made contact, Bentley would thrust the blade as hard as he could.
