Back Story: Farina, like all shrine maidens, was chosen as a child after the death of the last Voice, and when she was old enough to leave her mother's side, she took the name of the sea and moved into the Temple to live with the other Maidens.
She was raised by her older Sisters, who gave her a comprehensive education; teaching her her people's history, culture, religious ceremonies, literature, and art. She was taught art of many forms so that she may help decorate the temple, and she was taught protective magic as well as basic spear fighting - after all, Shrine Maidens were the last lines of defense the Temple had, and were expected to die to keep the Heart of the Sea safe.
As the youngest Maiden for a while, she was expected to care for most of the chores around the temple, cleaning the temple and running errands out into the city to procure supplies, so it's not like she was forbidden from leaving the temple - just rarely had time or reason to. Indeed, the majority of her life has been spent within the walls of the temple, and while she occasionally desires to spend more time outside its walls, she has a sacred duty - one entrusted to only a select few.

Back Story: If there is anything that Amalthea is good at, it's law. She studied it from a young age, thanks to her father, who was also a Judge. Unfortunately, it is not due to her father, nor her law knowledge and skills that got her into the position of being a Judge (nor a Council Representative, for that matter). Rather, her magical and innate ability to detect lies is what brought her into the attention of those that could hire her.
For those that she Judges, this has been a real problem--and so, she has been given the nickname of "the Thorn." As all People of the Land are given titles, this did not surprise her--but she did hope to gain the same title as her father and have it passed to her to make him proud. Still, although she is not the Amalthea, the "Leveler of Scales," she is happy with being a thorn in the sides of those that would breach the Laws of the Land.

Back Story: The eldest of two, he was groomed for the position of Council Head when his father passed. An apt pupil, he finished the lessons easily to the point of boredom, but kept it to himself as it allowed him time to pursue his own interests. For his coming of age ceremony, he sought and found an ancient spell thought to be lost, bringing much pride for his family. However, he partly considered his pilgrimage a scam as he had two bodyguards. But as was custom, the future Council Heads were required to live amongst other towns, as well as other world cultures. He told none save his sister of his plans.
As the living among the towns of his own people drew to a close, he slipped away under the cover of night, going on a true pilgrimage around the world under disguise, testing himself mentally and physically. He sent word by proxy to his family to let them know he still lived, but otherwise has kept a low profile. He's been gone for over ten years, now.
