Alright, I'm starting a DnD based RP that will include dice rolls on MY part, to determine your environment and enemies. I would like everything to be in paragraph style, with decent grammar, but I'm not a grammar nazi. I would like most posts to contain at least four to six sentences.

This RP will take place in a medieval-type period in an original map/world known as Ardri. I will allow several races, classes, and skills, and your race may or may not give you racial traits, as well. This will contain a lot of information, so if you feel I've left anything out, feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Available Races Are:

Human Humans have more skills and talents than any other race and will be less likely to fail when I roll a skill check for them. Height Average is 5 to 6 feet and Weight Average is 125 to 250 lbs.

Halfling Halflings have little strength, but great speed. They are lacking in the distance they can travel, but they are excellent in acrobatic and stealth skills. Average Height is 3 to 4 feet and Weight Average is 30 to 35 lbs.

Dwarf Dwarves have little charisma, move more slowly than humans, but have dark vision for up 60 feet. They also excel in recognizing, bartering, and handling all manners of stones and gems and are extremely skilled with Dwarven weapons. Average Height is 4 to 4'6 feet and Weight Average is 125 to 250 lbs.

Elf Elves have excellent speed and dexterity, allowing them to move much faster and hear much farther than a human. They have low-light vision for up to 60 feet and have no need to sleep.

Gnome Gnomes are not as strong as larger humanoids, but are tough fighters. Though the lack in land speed, they have a lot of dexterity, as well as Low-Light vision for up to 60 feet. Gnomes have the ability to speak with animals for up to once per day.

Half-Elf A half elf has the low-light vision, sight, hearing, and lack the need for sleep as elves do, but lack the elven grace and speed and are less capable of using magic.

Half-Orc Though they are less charismatic than dwarves, Half-Orcs have brutal strength and are a forceto be reckoned with. They share a human's average speed, but have the dark-vision ability like a dwarf.


Available Classes Are:

Barbarian Barbarians are skilled warriors that "rage" or "berserk" into their enemies with out thought and only the intent to kill. Despite their low intelligence and inability to read or write, Barbarians make a living as Mercenaries or by remaining with their tribe. They deal massive damage, have decent defense, and tend to become reckless during risky battles. Barbarians cannot be Lawful! They also have the ability to move much faster than normal during the heat of battle and are commonly found to be human or half-orc and occasionally, a dwarf. Though the Barbarian deals more damage than the average fighter, he has one weakness: Magic. Magic can bend the will of most barbarians, causing them to flee when they normally would not and other such affects.

Bard Bards are the most skilled of any class, having more of a variety of talents than any other. Through their great storytelling and skilled performance abilities, they can buff the part, strengthen morale, and be stealthy or dexterous. Bards are usually found to be Human, half elf, elf, or gnome and generally find knowledge, both local and non-local, rather easily. They are usually neutral or chaotic.

Cleric Clerics are a cross between a fighter and a healer, having both the skill to use divine magic to scare/rebuke undead and heal wounds, as well as wear armor and fight effectively while dealing a decent amount of damage. Clerics gain their magic through a deity, and are known to be very religious. Clerics can be found in any race or alignment.

Fighter Fighters are warriors skilled with the most variety weapons and armors than any other class, as well as common among all races, religions, and alignments. They can be extremely defensive or highly offensive, both of which can be an asset to any party.

Monk A monk is a tough fighter that uses only a staff, bow, or their hands. Fighting with fists is more common and they never wear armor. They are highly defensive and can deal as much damage as a fighter. Monks are religious in a spiritual nature and have always taken a vow of poverty, for they are known to have come from a Monastery. Monks are always lawful, not to the law of the land, but to their own code they have come to respect. Monks are usually found to be human, half-elf, or half-orc.

Paladin Paladins are mighty, honorable warriors that are the most lawful of any class. They fight for the ruler, the law of the lands, and will smite evil/good to the greatest of their abilities. They are usually humans, half-elves, and occasionally dwarves. Nonetheless, they fight for what they believe in and are open about their values. They have minor magic against demonic/divine creatures, as well as superb damage-dealing abilities.

Ranger Rangers are dexterous fighters, more commonly bow users, and are one with nature. They excel in hunting and survival and have charismatic encounters with animals. They usually have an animal companion and are very talented in hiding and moving silently. Half-orcs and humans, and halflings are usually rangers, and rarely there is a dwarven Ranger. Rangers have a nomadic lifestyle and have extensive knowledge about enemies. Any alignment.

Rogue Humans, halflings, elves, and half-elves usually take to being a rogue, where being hidden, silent, and quick is their specialty. They are skilled in picking locks, stealing, and using sneak attacks to deal extra damage. They are usually any alignment, but rarely lawful and most commonly chaotic. Though rogues are not capable of casting spells on their own, they can "fake it" well enough to cast spells from scrolls, activate wands, and use just bout any other magic item.

Sorcerer Sorcerers are magic users that know a specific and limited set of spells, but can spontaneously cast those spells without having to have prepared those spells before-hand. Though they can be limited in the spells that they know, their spells can be chosen at any time and they need less rest in order to cast more spells the next day. Sorcs are usually found to be humans or half-elves and also have an animal familiar to fight with them. Sorcs cannot wear armor and can only wield small, simple weapons. Any alignment.

Wizard Wizards are magic users that know a widely varied amount of spells (which has no limit in number), keep those spells in a spell book, and can prepare specific spells to use each day. They require more rest to prepare the spells for the next day in order to cast them than a Sorc needs, but they can use more of a variety of weapons than a Sorcerer can. They cannot wear armor and do not gain a familiar. Common in any race and alignment.


Weapon Proficiencies, armor proficiencies, racial name suggestions, and alignment possibilities, as well as your character layout will be posted in the next post, since this one is already too long as it is. Thank you!

Deity Options (Deities are not required to any but clerics):

Boccob The God of Magic, Boccob, is neutral. His titles include the Uncaring, Lord of All Magics, and Archmage of the Deities. Boccob is a distant deity who promotes no special agenda in the world of mortals. As a god of magic and knowledge, he is worshiped by wizards, sorcerers, and sages most commonly. The domains he is associated with are Knowledge, Magic, and Trickery. The quarterstaff is his favored weapon.

Corellon Larethian The God of the elves, Corellon Larethian, is chaotic good. He is known as the Creator of the Elves, the Protector, Protector and Preserver of Life, and the Ruler of All Elves. Corellon Larethian is the creator and protector of the elf race. He governs those things held in highest esteem among elves, such as magic, music, arts, crafts, poetry, and warfare. Elves, half-elves, and bards worship him most commonly. The domain he is associated with are Chaos, Good, Protection, and War. His favored weapon is the longsword, Cruumsh is his nemesis, and it is because of Correllon's battle prowess that Gruumsh is called "One-Eye."

Ehlonna Ehlonna, the Goddess of the woodlands, is neutral good. Her most commonly encountered title is Ehlonna of the Forests. Ehlonna watches over all good people who live in the forest, love the woodlands, or make their livelihood there. She is pictured sometimes as an elf and sometimes as a human. She is especially close to elves, gnomes, half-elves, and halflings. She is also worshiped most commonly by rangers. The domains she is associated with are Animal, Good, Plant, and Sun. Her favored weapon is the longbow.


Fharlanghn Fharlanghn, the God of Roads, is neutral. His title is Dweller on the Horizon. Fharlanghn's wayside shrines are common on well-used roads, for he is the deity of travel, roads, distance, and horizons. Bards, other wandering adventurers, and merchants commonly favor Fharlanghn. The domains he is associated with are Luck, Protection, and Travel. The quarterstaff is his favored weapon.

Gruumsh Gruumsh, chief God of the orcs, is chaotic evil. His titles are One Eye and He-Who-Never-Sleeps. Gruumsh calls on his followers to be strong, to cull the weak from their numbers, and to take all territory that Gruumsh thinks is rightfully theirs (which is almost everything.) The domains he is associated with are Chaos, Evil, Strenght, and War. His favored weapon is the spear and he harbors a special hatred for Corellon Larethian and his followers, due to Larethian's taking his left eye in a fight.

Olidamarra The God of Rogues, Olidammara, is chaotic neutral. His title is the Laughing Rogue. Olidammara delights in wine, women, and song. He is a vagabond, a prankster, and a master of disguise. His temples are few, but many people are willing to raise a glass in his honor. Rogues and bards are frequently among his worshipers. His domains are Chaos, Luck, and Trickery. His favored weapon is the Rapier.

Pelor Pelor, God of the Sun, is neutral good. His title is the Shining One. Pelor is the creator of many good things, a supporter of those in need, and an adversary of all that is evil.. He is the most commonly worshiped deity among ordinary humans and his priests are well received wherever they go. Any good alignment follows him, regardless of class, and his domains are Good, Healing, Strength, and Sun. The mace is his favored weapon.

Appearance: He wears black leather armor with a hood that he can pull over his head when he needs to not be seen. His eyes are green. He has a scar on his left cheek. He has black hair that reaches his shoulders. He keeps his beard shaved to a 5'o clock shadow. His Hand crossbow rests on his right shoulder thanks to a harness system. His daggers are on his hips. He has a black piece of cloth that he can pull up over his nose for when it gets to windy or if he needs to hide his face.

Back Story: was born on the streets. He has always stolen food to make a living but has given it to those less fortunate. As he grew up he learned how to use a hand crossbow as well as duel wield one handed daggers.

Back Story: Malia comes from a long line of servants to the royal family. She herself is a personal bodyguard to the young princess Arianna Cantarian. When she isn’t busy with what she calls babysitting, she hangs at one of the inns. She is known to be quite flirtatious, but doesn’t go much farther than that.

Armor/Weapons: Light leather armor conforming to his body, studded on the legs and arms and dark brown. He carries two double edged knives and a throwing axe.

Appearance: With dark hair and his 6'0 stature he might be considered threatening if he wasn't as thin as a rod and good natured. He is somewhat good looking and has never had any problems with dancing with pretty girls at the balls frequently thrown at his castle.

Back Story: He was orphaned at the age of two on the doorstep of the Castle Redmoore and has been there ever since as an example of the kindness of Baron Redmoore. The Castle Redmoore is located on the outskirts of the land of Castle Bentfort. It is relatively small, thus not attracting the attention of the Queen, who might otherwise decide to take it for her own. On arrival to Castle Redmoore, he was treated with the utmost kindness and humility. He was, however, put to work at the age of nine. He went from job to job, never finding anything that he couldn't break or ruin within an hour of beginning. Until they gave him a sword and asked him to spar with the junior knight that had been bullying him. He quickly beat the young warrior, earning his place in the academy. They soon found out that as good as he was with a sword, he was even better with a knife. They soon realized his talents and sent him to train with the royal Guardians, who are basically glorified assassins. He soon found himself in over his head in the art of murder, which both excited and sickened him. He learned the darkest secrets of killing and won every mock fight brought to him. At the age of 17, Roran was ready to become a guardian.

Armor and Weapon(s): Den Gao wears only his robes, and uses only his fists for weapons.

Appearance: A tall, plump man with rosy cheeks, long orcish tusks and graying hair tied back in a ponytail. He wears simple monk robes, and keeps a wineskin at his side and pipe in his mouth most of the time.

Back Story: Den Gao was the result of an unwanted pregnancy. Orcish raiders had forced themselves on his mother, and when he was born his mother abandoned him out of disgust. He was discovered by a wandering monk and taken to a monastery where he led a good life of quiet contemplation. He was taught the monastic arts, including writing and martial arts. Now he wanders the land, like the monk who found him, wanting to do good for others.

Appearance: 5 feet and 6 inches tall. Has a slender, 132lbs body. Also has short, wavy, and grey hair that partly covers his golden brown eyes. He wears a thin pair of glasses, a white buttoned shirt, black pants, and a pair of black shoes with silver buckles

Back Story: Aegis grew up practicing the medical arts, but he secretly grew interested in sorcery along with the skill of necromancy. Even though Aegis put most of his time in developing his healing skills, he still worked on creating and developing spells that could reanimate dead bodies and transfer the life from one body to another. He works as a surgeon in the hospital where he lives, tending to the sick and the wounded all the while using his experience to increase his sorcerer skills.

Race: Blue Drakenbred (Othellai in Draconic)*

Class: Bard

Deity (Optional): Hlal (Draconic deity)

Armor and Weapon(s): Light armour, usually leather. A short sword and dagger.

Appearance: 5'9", 153 lbs. He has wavy, messy, deep blue hair that reaches his chin and light violet eyes. He has normal human-looking skin, but has patches of scales along his jaw, shoulders, forearms, shins and feet that are the same colour as his hair. He has large, fin-like ears and horns that protrude from behind them.

Back Story: His family lived in a hilly area near the Serraf Ocean and consisted of his grandparents, parents, and two younger sisters, all of whom were Othellai. They kept to themselves and stayed far from the Elves, as they weren't well accepted by them. He was raised in a very Draconic household, worshipping a Draconic deity and speaking the Draconic language, though he was taught the common language later on and can speak it passably but with an accent.

As much as he enjoyed his life, he longed to travel and see new things, and find some nice shiny treasures too. So he set off in no particular direction, and came upon a small Elf village. At first they shunned him, though they eventually accepted him and taught him the ways of the Bard, as well as a little bit of Elvish. He has travelled to many places, though quickly discovered that most everyone hated him on sight. He recently completed a quest to obtain the Hat of Disguise, which allows him to alter his appearance to one more acceptable.

He is creative and persuasive, and enjoys pranks, jokes, and humourous stories. He is typically good-natured, though is quick to become annoyed, and can be impractical and stubborn. He is also a bit of a hoarder and loves to collect treasure.

*Note on race: Othellai are descended from Blue and Copper dragons, and can breathe a line of lightning like the Blue dragon. More info on them here.

Appearance: Illias stands 5'11" and weighs 145lbs. His hair is black and reaches the middle of his back. His eyes are amber and he has a scar across the bridge of his nose. He is almost always smiling, especially during combat, regardless of whether he is winning or losing.

Back Story: Illias was born with the sole purpose of serving Olidamarra. His mother was manipulated into being impregnated by one of Olidamarra's followers and killed after giving birth. The followers were using the deity's name to justify their crime and offered the child to the temple as a form of 'sacrifice' to appease him. He was raised in a harshly religious environment and as a result, he tends to think of himself and Olidamarra as 'one'. That's why in spite of his impulsive nature and general insanity, he is able to dedicate himself to his deity one hundred percent. He tends to wander between the few temples of the deity to make sure that they are 'up to standard', though his standards change rapidly. He does not hesitate to weed out anyone who fails to meet these mysterious standards of his.

In spite of his devotion to Olidamarra, his weapon of choice is a sickle and not a rapier. He insists that the choice was made with the deity's blessing, but it's more likely a personal preference.

Armor and Weapon(s): Leather armour, a composite longbow.

Appearance: His height is 5’ 7” and he has a fairly average but slim build due to being part elf. He has light brown, slightly unruly hair that reaches his mid-back, but he always keeps it held back in a ponytail. His eyes are a light grey-blue colour.

Back Story: Errol’s mother is an elf and his father is a human who lives in a forest on the outskirts of the Jarren Kingdom. Shortly after his birth, his mother left Errol with his father and never returned, ashamed. Errol’s father, a skilled ranger, taught his son to hunt with a bow very effectively and also to respect nature. While growing up, Errol bonded with animals more than people, since his encounters with people are limited to occasionally visiting a nearby village.

Errol is very energetic and quite cheerful. He enjoys adventures in the great outdoors, and can be naïve at times. He cannot stand people who do not respect nature, and isn’t afraid to let them know what he thinks.

Errol has an animal companion, a badger named Truffle that he befriended a few years ago.

  • Only one character at a time is allowed.

  • Expect to have to edit some posts, based on rolls that I make.

  • If you decide to use a skill and I inform you that you do badly due to a dice roll, you cannot back out of using that skill.

  • Attacks are based on rolls, as well, so if I tell you that you didn't hit someone, you missed.

  • Archers must keep up with their arrows!

Appearance: Raven black hair that he braids into a single ponytail, eyes of a grey hue, he stands at 6"4' and weighs 180 lbs. He has a lithe muscular tone.

Back Story:

A former monk, Kravos left his monastery after ten years of conflict in the order. He found that their ways simply did not serve him on his path. Though he enjoyed the vigorous training and the influence of the monastic order, the elders always conflicted with him about right and wrong. If a child was starving and stole food, they considered it a "crime" for they followed the "laws" set by man; however, he could not accept such views. Stealing was simply a means to an end, if stealing was wrong than so was the governance of strength of the noble lords. After leaving the order, Kravos joined a small corp of mercenaries and drifted across the land, he disavowed his former monk lifestyle, only keeping his vigilance in training his mind and body. Though he did not necessarily seek strength, he knew that it was the only true way to bring order in this human driven world.

He follows no specific god or goddess he has studied them all extensively, attempting to find one that called to him. However, upon his travels as a mercenary, he saw such horrors that humankind had inflicted on the weak and helpless, he noted these transgressions for what they were. He understood that the only way to truly change the world would be through his own power. If he must, he would subjugate those in power as they did to all lesser than them. He would befriend and beguile, gain the good graces of one and then betray them to the horrors that they themselves inflicted upon others.

After years of work, his mercenary band was sent to the war-front. There the mercenary corp was fought back inch for bloody inch of the way they came and pushed unto a cliff edge. The merc corp did not give, they held out on the edge for several days, almost always on the brink. After a week, reinforcements for the enemy troops arrived and the corp were finally pushed back and off the cliff. The drop was steep and steady, straight onto rocky crags and the sea. The few survivors managed to make it back to shore, but their passion for battle had been lost, only Kravos remained defiant , he continued his path, becoming an aimless swordsman, wandering the land in search of his dream.

This RP only has room for one more RPer. This RP will begin soon, so if you want to join, now's the time.

The above followers will be split into two groups and role-play in two different threads. Both groups will be in the same world at the same time, so both groups can affect/run into each other. Both threads will share the same dice roll thread. If a 10th person joins this RP, they will be placed in the group that has one less member.

The name of the group is named after the group leader. Both group leaders have extensive knowledge in DnD, so if you are uncertain about anything and I am unavailable, you can defer to them. Both groups have been arranged based solely alignment and class alone.

Back Story: Not much is known about this young man, as he mostly keeps to himself. He's friendly and talkative if you approach him, but generally quiet with a faroff look. He travels from place to place, always as if he's searching for something.

Armor and Weapon(s): Quarterstaff

Appearance: 5'0". Bronze coloured skin, golden blond hair that reaches her mid-back, bright green eyes. She wears a green dress that matches her eyes that is embroidered with thread the same colour as her hair. She has a golden cape that is ragged at the bottom, which was given to her by her late father.

Back Story: Xanaphia lives in a village near Inlantria Castle. Her parents were both wizards, though her father was killed by an anti-mage group when she was younger and her mother gave up the study of magic out of fear. Xanaphia still decided to become a wizard herself, despite her mother's protests, and crusades to have mages accepted like everyone else.
