Sword and Cross Boarding School RP

And so we begin!

After a summer of quiet home life where all of the students and teachers that make up the 500 year old school for monsters and creatures of Earth have lived and spent time, September has arrived in the cool autumn mountains Massachusetts. To the outside world it looks to harbor all the strange and mentally insane youth of society. To the students that live there its a place to finally be normal. You can tell us what you are or choose for it to be secret. You will begin in your human form. Every student while at Sword and Cross is asked to respect thier peers. Sworn enemies of nature find this difficult but expulsion means setting themselves to the wild cruel world of humans. Here at the school each student has core corriculum classes of Math, English, History, and Science, but also each completes "CS" or Creature studies where they learn about themselves and the history of their peers. Dorms are in a 5 floor building. The first floor is the rec area and kitchen. Students may now report to the dorms to unload thier bags. You may roomate with anyone.

Saphyra walked up to the gates of her new school. From the outside she wasn't too pleased with what she saw. Barbed wire, a white cinder block entrance building where she was to report for her welcome packet. Thankfully this place had no dress code except for Sundays when she'd have to dress up for a non denominational spiritual gathering. The young woman at the desk wore an awful lab coat, Saphyra kept her cap low on her face.
"I'm here to be read my rights and be put in this jail of a school." she stated sarcastically.
"Hello Saphyra, do try to smile a bit, I'm sure it looks better on you, here's your packet and class schedule. The dorm is on the right, you'll have to put on a smile to pick a roomate I'd imagine." she replied, shockingly not phased by her rudeness.
Without another word, Saphyra walked past her into the courtyard choosing to put her bags down and sit against the nearest tree, watching the other students walk in.

Eris. Was it right to say that this deranged girl didn't belong in this school and instead needed to be in a facility? No, not at all. She was utterly demented. She walked in casually and bit into an apple before stopping and glancing at the girl sitting against the tree. No, she cared nothing for her individually. But it was always fun to scout for new potential...'play mates'. Following her like a shadow as a girl with her head held down and her bangs covering her eyes with her hands in her pockets. "Come along, Quinn. We have to unpack...get settled in." She then walks inside with her 'shadow'.

Vonni wasnt to happy being placed in this new school. He walked through the gates and immediately knew he hated this place. He walked past a girl eating an apple and gave her a twisted smile and the apple began to sprout giant leaves from the stem. His smile left and he walked away with his head down. The next person he noticed, was another girl. She was sitting under a tree and looked shy. He looked her over and decided to avoid contact with her after what just happened with the apple girl. He noticed all of the signs over the campus and finally found the dorms. He didnt want a room mate, and hopefully he wouldnt get one. He walked into the building and found a map of the building. He searched the map for room 13, and made his way to it, climbing two flights of steps and made his way to the third floor, and room 13. It was unlocked, and had a door hanger on the door knob. He took it off, and read it. "The key to this room is on the nightstand next to your bed. Make sure you dont lose it, you wont get another one. Vonnie knew that he had a horrible reputation with losing important things so he took off his black strung necklace and put his room key on it next to the golden Italian horn. He laid his bags down and unpacked, putting his things away in their respected areas. Once he finished, he sat down on his bed and picked up the big, beat up brown book sitting on the bed and opened it up. He started skimming through it and the words began to glow. His eyes changed, one red, and one blue, the scar on his face grew to be a bright red and the words of the book, all in a foreign language flew from his mouth, and time reversed to when he had just walked into the room. "seriously....." He stopped and went and put everything away once again, placing his book inside of an old beat up shoe box and wrapped it in an old hoodie and tucked it away under his bed.

Quinn sees the boy walking away as the leaves sprout from Eris's apple and gets ready to lunge. Before she has the chance, however, Eris holds her back with but an arm, dropping the one apple and replacing it for another she had in her skirt pocket. "Ah ah ah," she says. "It'd be a shame to allow carnage on the first day. Besides...it was absolutely erratic...I like that."

Quinn stops in her tracks and looks back at the boy as he disappears into a building. In due time, she and Eris make their way to their dorms. They weren't in the same dorm but that honestly wasn't a problem. The first classes would be soon and Eris already had a busy schedule planned. This year...she would take the school by storm...a magnificent storm...one of pure chaotic wonder. Oh, the splendid madness of it all.

A nondescript car pulls up to the building, it is her first car ride that she can remember. Actually it is her first time out of the laboratory in a very long time. So long she forgot what life was like beyond her walls. The car stops. “This is your stop kid.” A gruff voice says to her. “Let me get your bags.”

The driver puts the vehicle in park and opens his door. The girl does the same and meets him behind the vehicle. He takes out two suitcases and sets them by the girl’s feet. The girl takes them and takes a step or two away from the car. She looks up at the building and swallows. She remembers the last thing her guardians told her before putting her into the car. This is where she will be living for now on. It is called a school.

She lifts her head up to the sky, relishing in the feeling of the sun on her face. She looks watching the other people and wonders what to do next. She sees some enter the building. There was another seemingly watching the others. *So this is what outside is like. I think I will stay out a little longer.*

Right at the entrance-way to the school, Priscilla felt as if she were entering the dirtiest place in the world. Feeling presences abound, her long cross sat in her hand, tight in her grip. "Lord in Heaven, please protect me today... For what You bestow me cannot be appreciated enough." Covering her was a VERY long dress, covering up her figure very well, and her hair was done up in a bun, hopefully warding away any lecherous spirits. The girl did not want to give up anything about her and it was clear what she wanted. After she opened the gate (with some difficulty), she quickly made her way to registration, where she felt a little safer.

"Hello, dearie?" The voice sounded very old, but Priscilla didn't care. At a ripe 60, she looked far older than that, with sagging cheeks and a very strange cough. It sounded a little too odd to be true.

"Good morning, miss." Priscilla was very courteous even though this woman was a stranger, and possibly even a heathen herself! "Priscilla PreFontaine, I'm here for registration?"

"Oh, my, yes, yes! We've been expecting you! Well, we've been expecting all you students, but especially you! We haven't had a human in a while." This brought Priscilla to attention.

"There are non-humans at this school?"

"Oh, for sure..." The blonde quickly frowned. "After all, you're at a school for the Supernatural." Priscilla huffed, before simply asking for her keys and such, and then stomping out, about to go on a tirade to the next person she sees about her Lord.

(ATTN: Vonnie)

Saphyre noticed several peculiar people pass by her as she rested under the tree. She was particularly curious of the one who made a plant grow from an apple without actually meaning to. After a few more moments she collected her duffle bag and went into the dorm. She wasn't looking for a room mate per say but it seemed interesting to her to make a friend or two. Everyone here had their own problems which is something Saphyre secretly liked. She strolled through the rec room and kitchen, grabbing a candy bar, and then went upstairs to find a room. Each one was decorated differently, she chose number 15 which had an ocean vibe.

Vonni decided it was time to get a feel for his schedule, find the longest possible ways to get to his classes. He slide his red hooded jacket and slung his black book bag over his shoulder after putting his book into the bag. He stepped out of his dorm and saw the girl that was under the tree walk into the dorm next to him, he smirked a bit and the door ignited. He looked around and thankfully nobody witnessed this. He pulled his book out of his bag and quickly turned the pages, found the spell he was looking for and again, his appearance changed and the unheard of language flew off his tongue and a rain cloud appeared putting the fire out. he sighed and knew that he had to explain himself. He walked into the door way and knocked on the wall, "Hey ...uhm sorry about your door...ill fix it.ha.." he walked farther into the room and flipped a few more pages letting his appearance change again and the unspoken language flew off his tongue and vines grew out of the floor and a solid wooden door appeared as the vines disappeared. "The names Vonni by the way" His appearance went back to normal and he took his bag off putting the book back into his bag and he leaned on the wall. "Need any help putting things away?"

Saphyre stared at her door as it first burned then was replaced. Something about that was amazing. She heard the embarrassed mumblings of her neighbor and instead of responding via the wall she walked into his room and leaned on the door jam, her cap nearly over her eyes. "Hey Vonnie, I'm Saphyre." she said, suddenly fairly self conscience. "I um haven't started unpacking yet but I'd rather just watch some tv first if you're game to just relax, seems like our peers don't care for those things." she regarded him kindly even though her senses told her to walk away and forget anyone here. "that is..if you're not planning a genius plan of killing me for any reason, I'm quite partial to my life." she laughed.

(Open, Girl by the car)
A teenager with short curled bloned hair and bright blue eyes, carrying a wooden staff and wearing a a brown hoodie with a picture of a skelaton laughing and the words; 'Ain't Dead Inside,' printed in red underneath, some blue denim jeans and a pair of large, dull hiking boots sprinted along in sheer panic, accidently bumbping into a girl who just took some bags from the boot of a car that stopped outside Sword & Cross.
"I am so sorry! I hope I didn't break anything! Please dont hurt me! Please don't let there be anything valuble broken in those bags of yours! I'll help you pick them up. Wait I see what your doing! Your going to make me carry your bags in and then strike me down when I'm defenseless! Or detonate a bomb in them! Can't fool me! Your out to get me like everyone else! I do hope I haven't sullied our chances of being friends though! Oh, need to run, in case they suddenly decide im not aloud in!", the odd boy babbled in demented panic, before fleeing again, not really listening to whatever the girl was saying and seemed to be just venting at her.
The boy ran to the smilling lady in the lab coat and blurted hastily; "Hi, I'm Llywelyn Jones, I'm joining this school. Oh please let it be aloud for L- Aha! Almost said what I am, but I won't be revealing any secrets yet! Ummmm I do hope I have a room to stay. And I do hope my room mate can cope with my night terrors. What is your an assassin? What if my room mate is an assassin? What if i'm over thinking these things? What if my bed is poisoned? What if my room will shrink down and crush me? What if I don't make any new friends? What if everyone hates me and decides to beat me to e messy pulp?"
The smiling lady merely kept her trademark grin and calmly replied; "Oh don't worry Llywelyn, this boarding scholl is acceptionly safe. I will inform any room mates you have of your night terrors so that is one problem solved for you, and I am quite certain I am not an assassin.", and giggled at her last comment before adding; "Why don't you go off and meet your new fellow students?", while handing over his own school pack and class schedule.
Llywelyn nodded casiously, eyeing the package with suspicion as he took it, and then carefully made his way to where there were other students, as if each step he made could set off a deadly trap.

As Heidrun stands there she is bumped into by a young man. At first he was apologetic and offered to pick up her bags. Then his mood changes and he practically accuses her of trying to harm him. Like a pendulum his mood swings and he tells her that he hopes he didn’t ruin the chances of becoming friends. Are all people like this? Maybe it was a good thing she was kept in the lab.

She reluctantly follows him inside the building. There are some students inside. She hears them talking about registration. She wonders what they mean by registration. She is approached by an adult. “Hello Heidrun, we were expecting you. Come with me, I will help you get your registration done. I can assist in finding you a roommate too.”

Heidrun thinks for a moment…roommate? She knows what room is and what mate is. She looks up at the lady. “Aren’t we a bit young to be thinking about mating?”

The lady suppresses her laughter. “No roommate, someone you will be sharing a room with.”

Heidrun rubs the back on her head before following the lady. “Sure, I would like that.”

Vonnie gave hre his classic smirk that all the girls back home loved and melted for. He walked in and laid back on her bed. The room had an ocean vibe and Vonnie thought of the irony. "Looks like i caught water on fire" he laughed. He motioned her over to the bed and rummaged around to find the remote clicking the TV on. Once on, a black and white striped screen showed and Vonnie looked around un happily. Soon after this, it changed and the face of the lady whohad welcomed him this morning was on the screen. "Hello students, and welcome! We here are S&C are very happy to have all of the new students join us this year. As you may have noticed, some of us here are.....different. We all hope to make you stay here as welcoming and happy as can be! If there is anything that you would need please ask!" with that, the TV went back to the white and black striped screen, and then turned off. Vonnie looked over at Saphyre andhis smile fadded, "Guess theres no TV here" he said as he began to sit up and take his bag off leaning it next to the bed closest to him.

Saphyre sat down on what she'd decided was her bed and let out a sigh. "Great, just what I need, more time to think. This place really is a prison." she said looking over at him. "I'd ask you what you're in for but it most obviously is arson." She giggled, surprised that the sound came out of her mouth so freely. It had been a long time since the last time it had. Somehow Saphyre felt safe having a friend that could light things on fire, it was the best security system a girl could have, save for against him. He probably had similar classes to hers. "Vonnie, I'm gonna tell you, sometimes spontaneously things happen to me too, and when they do..you're better off not being there." she said in a whisper of warning to her new friend.

[ATTN: Ryker, Open]

Swiveling quickly on the balls of her feet, her fists immediately went up, before relaxing and sighing. "Apologies, there are just quite a few... spirits at this school." Her first weak smile was broken as she simply nodded and began a long rant on how the men at her old schools were such pigs, and how Ryker was such a gentleman... "And oh, how they don't ever SHOWER! It's bad enough the Lord allows us to use this technology, but NOT to use God's gifts?" She shakes her head and looks at him with her piercing green gaze, gripping on her cross tighter.

It was now she realized what he looked like. Pointy hair, what looks to be a well-shaded face, any amount of nice features for a male to have. But that didn't really interest her, what interested her was the fists. "I'm sorry, were you about to say anything else?" Picking up a couple of her heavier bags, she decided that he would be a nicer acquaintance to have made, for he was kinder and gentler than the rest. "If you're interested in speaking, please, do so!"

Kaline, meanwhile, continued to serve the others mindlessly, a little ecstatic that there were TWO humans here! She hasn't seen humans in a while, and decided to abandon her post, telling the other old lady she could begin doing her job again. This woman was FAR crabbier than Kaline, and Kaline skipped away, morphed into her regular form.

Eris walks through the school after having taken herself to the front desk to collect her schedule. Of course, Quinn was right behind her. As she approaches, she sees the rather...'chipper' woman sitting there and indifferently stops before her. "Hello," she says. "I am looking to collect my schedule for the year? My name is Eris. This is Quinn."

[ATTN: Ryder]
Mightily and triumphantly, her voice rang out to the heavens. "I am Priscilla PreFontaine, guardian of the Scripture!" Her face exultant, her hands red from carrying the bags, and her slight (and we say this with some understatement, her accent is right up there with the best cowboys) southern accent amusing, she continued to her room, which was room 12. Setting down her bags, she clapped her hands and muttered a quick prayer before opening the door...

The crabby woman sighed, going to her work and making heavy grunting sounds as she walked to and fro. Working for this he**hole of a school was annoying, and there were TWO students here AT THE SAME TIME! She couldn't really handle that, but did so anyways. "Here you go... now skedaddle!" This woman had attitude. A lot of attitude.

Reminder: There is no cursing outside of Darklands

Oh, boy. Did he just ask her what her sacred role was? For the next little while, her passion for the Lord was put into great detail, from her disinterest in girly things, to her days as commander of Ninja Battalion in elementary, to being the belle of the ball in middle school... in essence, a life story up to this point. "And they have the NERVE to tell me that I CAN'T HAVE THIS CLOSE A CONNECTION TO SOMETHING I CAN'T SEE." Stomping on the ground with her foot, she sighed and finished her prayer, opening Room 12 with a flourish.

It was all someone like her could ask for. The room was a simple grey, alongside the wooden flooring, giving it somewhat of a vintage impression. The necessities of life were provided, save for a sink, which she presumed was a communal bath. A refrigerator, some small tidbits of things that she could use like paper, and even a couple of old tomes were either on the floor or sitting tidily on the desk. "Satisfactory..." A smile crept across her face, as she began to put her things away, mostly into the ornate dresser.

[Attn: Attitude Adjustment Required]

Eris takes her and Quinn's schedules and tilts her head with an appearance of interest. "Dear woman, my I ask what ever is the matter?" Her face wore the look of twisted, deranged pleasure as she came across this woman so very rude. Chaos had its catalysts. Madness had its causes. Anger had its reasons and she intended to locate it. If she couldn't, she'd just be sure to take her into the cloak of insanity another time. She hadn't practiced since the end of school the previous year.

[ATTN: ERIS, QUINN]

The old woman sighed and rubbed her temples. "Kids these days..." The few grey follicles left on her face flittered and fluttered to the shaking of her head, almost of disapproval. Her annoyance grew to new heights, as children of all ages (including young adults) really bothered her for some reason. Beginning to rant about how in the old days, computers were all in the head, she wheezed a little bit before continuing on her tirade. On and on she went, until Kaline returned, ice cream in hand...

"Oh, Eris! Glad to see you're back." A jovial smile from Kaline was shot in Eris' direction before sauntering to one of the seats. Turning to the secretary of sorts, Kaline giggled. "Glad to see she's still the same!" Still on her tirade, the now annoyed old woman turned her attention to Kaline, now berating her for being "too nice to the kids". A new topic about discipline was now in the background, with students beginning to pile in by the bunches, all antsy to get their timetables... this could get ugly. Shaking her head, Kaline jumped over the table and behind the desk, beginning to get things in order for the registration backlog. "Quinn, untalkative as usual?" was her last quip before beginning to push out registrations.

Heidrun watches the people around her as she follows the person who greeted her. Were all these people here for registration too? There seem to be grouping off together, maybe they knew one another from before. There seems to be a group forming in front of table. Heidrun can see a woman behind it. She appears to be frazzled.

The lady Heidrun was following stops. “This is where you get your schedule. Please stay in line here and have a little patience.”

Heidrun nods and gets in line. There is a variety of people here some are being less than favorable, like that will help anything. The line moves at a snail’s pace, so to keep herself entertained, Heidrun decides to pick up some discarded papers with her telekinetic powers. She focuses on the discarded paper and lifts it into the basket next to it.
