Hide and Seek

Cage nodded. "He got there before me," he said. "He pretended to be Jack..."

Dom closed his eyes for a moment, taking a breath. "We were with each other the entire time. We... fled, while he was busy..." He opened his eyes again, his shame apparent. "I can vouch for these two," he said. "I figured there was nowhere else to go but here..."

He let out a cry as Raziel's knife slammed into his leg, his legs buckling, and his eyes lit up in anger. He slammed his foot into his face and kicked Raziel's sword away, looming over him.

"Son of a bitch," he growled, hauling him to his feet as his form grew shaky.

Laura nearly growled. She couldn't wait for a good opening any longer. She let out a burst of light between them, blinding the both of them before Kieran took the opportunity to chuck a knife at the bastard. His form solidified instantly the moment he was blinded, and the knife buried itself in his already injured shoulder.

The man doubled over, struggling to stay on his feet as Raziel cut across his chest, his hands going down to try and stem the flow of blood in vain. His eyes lit up in anger, and he growled, turning and darting back away from them as Cage threw another knife, only to miss. He turned and collapsed against a machine, his form wavering as he shifted quickly into the asian woman again.

She set off another explosion to send Raziel flying, and coughed hard, that same vapor rising from her mouth and disappearing into the air. "Nice try, kid," she said.

She set off another explosion by the sword, sending him flying as she walked calmly towards the sword. Her form shifted, to the taller scientist he had been when they first found him, and he picked up the sword gingerly.

"Dioltas," he breathed, then blinked, surprised, before he grinned. "There's a piece of poor Professor Isaac Syring in this," he said. He grinned down at the sword. "Don't you recognize your creator, Dioltas?" he said smoothly.

He grunted as the sword grew heavy in his hands, until he finally tossed it to the side, turning as Raziel charged for him again. He turned into the asian woman again, hitting him with another explosion and sidestepping. "Give it up," she said, just as Laura and Dom, standing not five meters away from her, let off another burst of light to blind them as Iris, standing with a newly summoned bird, stood with Cage ready to strike.

She let out another explosion, blasting Cage and Iris back instinctively. "Dom," she growled. "Where are you...?"

She turned, letting out a sigh as Raziel raced for the sword again. She let off another explosion, sending him flying again.

"Tenacious idiot," she said, striding over to him as Laura and Dom followed, invisible, behind. Laura moved to run up behind her as she knelt down, shoving her knee in his gut and wrapping her hands about his neck.

"Wait..." he muttered, as her form grew shaky. "Try now!"

She threw the one knife she had as the wraith appeared, and the thing let out a cry of pain as the knife stuck in it's back. It took a form immediately, turning back into the woman, and blood drained from it's back as the knife clattered to the ground at it's feet.

She slammed her fist into Raziel's gut before turning and setting off a massive explosion behind them, sending Dom and Laura flying. "There you are...!" she growled.

She set off another explosion, sending the two of them flying again. She ignored Laura, instead moving to loom over Dom as his spell collapsed around him.

"Don't you fucking dare!" Iris yelled as Dom tried to scramble away, reaching for his knife as the shapeshifter reformed himself into a taller man wearing a bandanna, bulky and muscular.

Dom threw his knife at him, and it stopped in front of his face. The man grinned down at him, turning as Iris' bird flew near him and flames burst up underneath him. He hissed, leaping out of the way and reaching down, grabbing Dom and throwing him towards the flames. The flames disappeared in an instant, but not before Dom let out a cry of pain. The man reached towards the bird again as it flew near him, consuming that one as well.

Laura let off a burst of light, blinding him for a moment so Dom could recover, scrambling for another knife. "Laura!" he called, sliding one of his knives across the floor towards her and backing away from him quickly, his jaw tightening as he stared at his form. "You'll pay for killing them..." he nearly growled.

The man chuckled. "Killing them?" he said, amused. "I did no such thing. They're all alive. Would you like me to put Marcus on the line? Or, what did you call him, 'Vane?'"

A knife flew through the air, insubstantial, and slammed into the man's shoulder. He nearly growled, turning to see Cage making his way towards him, and turned once again into the smaller woman, setting off an explosion near him so great that for a moment it left Laura's ears ringing.

She blasted the other two back as well, pacing towards Cage. "You first," she said, standing over him as from the corner of her eye she saw Raziel reaching for his sword.

"Shit!" She turned, letting off another explosion near Raziel, hoping to catch him before he got his sword.

She was thrown back against the wall and groaned in pain. The others charged, and he shifted forms quickly into the taller blonde woman, throwing them all back with a blast of wind.

She struggled to her feet - that wound that Laura had given her was still there, and she glared around at them. "Of course he couldn't stay down," she muttered, turning to face towards Raziel.

The blonde woman threw herself out of the way, stumbling as the blast still caught her, and threw out her hand, blasting him back with a gust of wind.

She stumbled as she walked towards him, her hand reaching towards the wound on her back, and she slammed him back into the wall again before he could get up. "Stay... down!" she growled.

Laura groaned as she shoved away from the wall - has she broken something? She reached for the knife her father gave her, her eyes widening as she watched the shapeshifter make her slow way towards Raziel.

He wasn't far, off to her left, and Laura drew away to draw a chameleon spell over herself. Her father breathed shallowly next to her - he'd hit the wall headfirst, and struggled now to stay conscious as the other two tried to recover.

The shapeshifter reached down, dragging Raziel upright and giving the others a cursory glance as Laura hurried to sneak around her again. She frowned for a moment, thinking, calculating, before she looked at Raziel in her grip. "Fun while it lasted," she said, smirking at him.

The smile slid off her face, and she slammed him back into the wall again, wiping his spit away from her eye. The grin suddenly returned. "I know," she said. "I'll lock you in the corner of my mind and use your form to find all of your clan. Doesn't that sound fun?"

Laura snuck up behind her, silent, hesitating as a spike of fear ran down her spine. No. No time for stupid fear. She was so close now she could practically touch her, but...

If she struck now, it'd be useless - it'd change to another form and kill them all the same, but that wound she gave it while it had been shifting had stayed...

Her form wavered, grew taller, dark, until a silhouette stood holding Raziel up, and Laura slammed her knife into it's form.

It dropped Raziel as it let out a shrill cry, it's form condensing down into the blonde woman again as she turned, her knife falling from the wound in her back as her form became solid again and her arm flying out to find Laura, striking her hard before she could dart back.

"I thought I missed one," she growled, her voice tinged with pain as Laura rolled to her feet, struggling to hold onto her spell.

She turned as Raziel raised the sword, having just enough time to turn to throw herself out of the way before the energy hit.

She went flying, slamming hard into the ground and rolling onto her back as her form melted, solidifying back into the asian woman as she let out a wispy breath. She struggled to her feet, stumbling as blood ran down her back from her wounds and left a pattern on the floor.

She ducked out of the way, letting out an explosion in their direction before backing away, starting to stumble.
