Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
Sorry for being pretty inactive lately, I've had family troubles to deal with lately and been out of sorts.
Suddenly the lights will go out and the entire ship will go silent, as all systems on the ship go out. The room is plunged into total darkness and even the pervasive hum of the ships machinery disappears. Eerie silence is all the ship has to offer you as Arios and Pheobe have disabled everything.
Unseen and unknown to everyone Sullivan struggles to try and fix the broken emergency systems and restore life support. Guards elsewhere on the ship are taking out the nonfunctional military droids. What few remaining engineers are also trying to restore life-support systems elsewhere on the ship.
However here in the cafeteria all hell breaks loose as frightened people are pushed to panic. What tiny order that was established falls apart as people think they are going to die. A few lights will turn on as people reach for whatever they can to see.

If things were already bad, the loss in power didn't help much. Immediately Allie switched to her infrared sensors, only to see the humans running amok. "For your own safety, please remain calm!" She screamed as loud as her speakers would allow. Frankly, it did little to help, as her voice was drowned out by the panicked voices filling the cafeteria. Still, she tried placating the group with polite mannerisms. Unsure of what else to do, Allie fumbled about, grasping at people to hold them still.

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
[Attn: All, Closed - Time Skip.]
The UNS Arion finishes it's final landing checks, AriOS confirming that everything is Green. It seems hardly believable that the ship successfully managed to pull through and complete it's voyage despite sabotage and an attack of a hostile A.I.
Luckily due to the quick thinking and actions of Lucy Lawless and several others, some of the colonists remain for the operation. The population has taken a critical blow however and stands at a mere 42.856%. AriOS projects that the colonization efforts of the first wave will devolve into anarchy or worse perish if coordinated efforts fail to establish a solid plan.
Even with the significant loss of crew and colonists, food and water stores are lower than expected. Significantly larger quantities where consumed during the repair efforts that went on for months. Geon, Gendrich, and many other colonists where conscripted (ahem, I mean volunteered) to help restore the ship and the cryopods to working order. There was much apprehension by the colonists at the idea of entering cryo-statis again. Eventually the colonists came around to the idea as it became abundantly clear that doing otherwise would further hamper the colonization effort. This process was done in waves as cryo-pods became available, placing the most non-essential colonists to the repair efforts in first. The last groups were placed into cryo-sleep after a period of 13 weeks, and further repairs completed by the crew. Their temporary conscription was placed on record, and they would be compensated as in accordance with Space-Maritime Law.
[Attn: Allie]
Jack Marony makes his rounds now that Arion has landed. The cargo bay is neat and orderly, though many of the colony supplies are diminished. Most of the seized supplies used during repairs were taken from deceased colonists, starting with those without next of kin. That doesn't however stop him from feeling a bit worried for those about to wake up.
Pausing at the umpteenth computer pad, he checks the numbers on the side of the crate to those on his datapad. With a gloved hand he dusts off the computer screen, which lights up at his touch. He then begins to input the activation command.
Computer code begins to scroll across the console:
Start up sequence initiated.
Comparing Crew manifest against records... Updating.
..
...
Crew Manifest updated.
Begin shake down procedure..
...
Systems check complete.
Boot sequence of ASeRA 21b initiated.
Releasing restraints.
Unlocking storage container.
Sequence Completed.
"Good Morning Allie."
Jack Marony watched as the screen finished, and he waited outside till Allie got out of bed he guessed. Whoever had written the program for this thing must have cared about it pretty deeply to include such a message in it's start up procedures. Didn't change much on his end, he had to wait and make sure everything was ok with it before he could go on to the nest machine and get it started. Just getting the rest of the construction droids up and going would take him another couple hours, but some of them where already getting started.
Allie, you have plenty of time to make it to the cryopods to assist the medical staff with the soon to be waking up colonists. You have an up to date manifest of everyone, including their background and medical history.
[Attn: Colonists]
Now that the Captain is content with the status of the ship after landing on Sigma 25, she sends the command to awaken the colonists from cryo-stasis.
After a few hours, the pods begin to hiss open and release the colonists. Unlike the time before, you won't feel any jarring sensations or sickness. In each of the rooms, there will Medical staff ready to help anyone needing it and to give everyone a quick check up before letting them head off to check out Sigma.
They may have to wait their turn to have their belongings off loaded from storage, but that should be completed by no later than tomorrow. Colonists without many possessions can set out as soon as they get them.
A basic mass lodging is already under construction, and should be completed before nightfall.

The cryo-stasis pod releases Jo into the world, consciousness returning and light bursting forth to reveal that she is, in fact, still alive. It was a dark and deep sleep, one without dreams or nightmares. The kind of sleep that Jo doesn't like, because although she knows that time passed, it doesn't feel like any time passed. Another wakening, but at least things are calm, this time.
She collects what few things she brought with her--mostly a bunch of cigs and other small things, but she wishes only to get out of this damn ship and onto a planet so that she can breathe, really breathe in with a sky or something. Her first steps off the hunk of metal is nice--the green grass below her feet are much gentler on her feet than the harsh ship.
Through the softness of the dirt and life beneath her, she takes a few steps out under the sun, instantly blinded by the light as she looks up at it and at the sky. She squints against it, but a smile falls out upon her face and she bathes in the light's warmth instantly, enjoying this moment. Listening to the sounds of life around her.
Jo's new home. The planet she's going to rule.

Gendrich is awoken by the pop and hiss of air escaping as the cryopod door opens. Sitting up, Gendrich takes a minute to orient himself. His muscles and joints are understandably lethargic. He looks over towards the direction of where he can find sleeping beauty. Her pod hasn't yet opened up, it must be still going through wake up procedures.
Shifting his weight over the lip of his cryopod, his feet find the floor. He's still not accustomed to the gravity on the ship, it's heavy. Even with a few months to get used to it during the repairs, he still misses the comfortable weight of Mars on his shoulder. According to what limited information was available prior to them setting out, he'd never feel that comfortable again. Even with resistance training back on Mars, Gendrich was thankful for the few months of forced labor on the Arion.
Silver linings, there are always silver linings.
Opening the locker by his pod, he unzips his dufflebag and grabs his clothes. Casually tossing them to were he was just napping activated the button to release the seal on the cryosuit. Without a care, Gendrich peels his suit open and rolls it down enough to expose his chest and arms. Grabbing a thin shirt he slips his arms through the sleeves and snaps the front closed as he looks back towards Rosella's pod. The door is open, but she hasn't gotten out yet.
Good, better hurry. Gendrich thought trying to hurry and finish the lower half. Maybe I shouldn't, she's bound to be around me enough to have to get used to it.
"Nah." Gendrich says shaking his head to forget the situation. He ignored the area around him, and finished getting changed. Everywhere around him, people were changing without concern or shame. Those that where, just grabbed their things and went to the bathrooms for privacy, probably Terrans.... Earthlings, I always forget that.
Gendrich finished getting on his boots, puling the straps tight through the clamps. This pair was pretty new, only... two or three years old now. Being frozen, threw off ones sense of time. "That'd make me thirty three now." He muttered as he walked towards Rosella with his dufflebag strapped over his shoulder.
"You look like a ripe Toma[to] Rose. Uncomfortable?" Gendrich beamed with a cheerful and upbeat voice when he reached her. He remembered how he'd had to shield her from view the first time, such a shy girl.

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
(ATTN: Gendrich, Open)
- Cryo pods/Restrooms passed the cryo pods room in the hallway -
Rosella's pod opened a bit later then Gendrich's and she came out a little bit confused at first, being not fully awake. And then memories of what happened started to come back to her. She knew where she was, however it wasn't long before her mind went blank again as everyone was changing around her like there was nothing to be ashamed of. She quickly turned red like a tomato and it wasn't long before Gendrich teased her about it. ''Uh ?!.....I um... yes ?....''
"I figured that you'd be." Gendrich said with a smile full of mirth. "If you let me grab your things, we can head to the restroom so you can change there." Gendrich offered since he wasn't sure how quick she would be to thaw out. It would be a shame if she passed out like an anemic, he'd heard it could happen sometimes.
''Oh... yeah good idea. '' She said trying to walk a step or two, although she didn't notice fully before... she almost trip but catch herself, though lifting herself up was really difficult. ''Why do I feel so heavy ? '' She says struggling to slowly come back up and then had to catch her breath a bit.
"Careful Rose." Gendrich warned as he was a little slow himself to reach out and try to catch her. She managed to do just fine, so he relaxed again. "We're on Sigma now. The gravity is different then what we're used to. Before we boarded the Ship on Atalanta I practically felt like I could fly, the gravity was so low." Gendrich would have tried to make a joke about it and flutter his hands or something but one was holding his dufflebag over his shoulder and the other was opening Rosella's locker. "We're just going to have to take things slow and get used to it."
''Y...Yeah I kinda saw that, I might ask for a few stops on the way.... it's really already hard since my legs are still a bit asleep too... '' She struggled to make a step and another. ''Oh....and thank you for offering to transport my bag.... I mean it's probably pretty hard for you as well. If you need breaks on the way, mention it too okay ?''
"Don't worry about me Princess, I've been preparing for a trip like this before I left home." Gendrich said as he got out her bag and had to adjust to the weight. "To be honest before I signed up for this, I've always wanted to visit Terra, I mean Earth, you know the mother planet. Silly farm boy dream I know." Keeping a close eye on her, he waited till she was ready to head out.
''I see ! That's pretty nice. '' She started to walk very slowly. ''I'm reaady... but not exactly fast.... which way was it again ?..'' She asked, a bit lost.
"Ohh. I'll lead, follow me." Gendrich says making sure not to outpace her. "We'll both have to be extra careful, at least until our bodies adjust." Gendrich seemed to lose his more common cheery demeanor. "Everything is going to be harder, slower." was uttered with a sigh and a gumble.
''Yeah we'll have to be.... careful.'' Rosella was already out of breath after they reached the door. There was several people heading toward the restrooms or toward some other places. They weren't the only ones out of breath. ''Where was it next ?'' She asked just to be sure between two breath.
Gendrich stopped for a minute, "We aren't too far, but we shouldn't rush." It was hard to tell how hard Rosella was having it, and how much if any of it is actually the side effect of the cryopod wake up process. "I also shouldn't be so gloomy right?" Gendrich said with a smile. "Things will start slow, but you'll be there to help me out." The bags were heavyier than he was used to but wasn't crippling.
Roselle smiled back and said ''Yes I will for sure ! I can't wait to learn. '' She took deep breaths. ''I feel like I'm gonna grow giant muscles from just walking in this gravity. '' She said with a little chuckle.
Gendrich looked at her and pinched her side suddenly. "A cute little mighty mouse we'll make of you yet Rose." Gendrich kinda skipped out of her reach, stopping beside the entrance to the restrooms. "We're here!"
''Wha-?!'' she exclaimed as he pinched her side before skipped away to reach the restroom. She then snapped out of her surprise to say ''Wait for me !!.....'' And of course she was walking reaaally sloooowly. When she finally made it she said ''Okay.....I'll take out what I need from my suitcase and leave it with you, is that okay ?...'' She seemed exhausted from that walking already.
"Sounds fine with me Rose." he answered whie setting her suitcase down so she could get to it. When she'd opened it up and started to rumage for her clothes he felt like teasing her but decided not to. "I'll be here when you get out, Promise."
She found a nice blue dress with some floral designs on it and took some underwears as well as a pair of socks. She also took some leggings to put under the dress in case they do a bit more than just walk normally. ''Okay, then I'll be back. '' She said with a smile as she went inside the lady restroom.

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
(ATTN : open)
**This is a collab between me and methos ;D**
-- Restroom at the beginning, close to cryopods in the middle and heading to the cafeteria at the end --
Rosella went to change into a pair of light gray leggings and a blue dress with floral designs on it. Although the suit gave her a bit of trouble to remove at first. Gave her a bit of trouble with the switch to unlock it so to speak. Once she was done she hurried back to Gendrich who was still waiting outside for her.
''I hope I didn't make you wait too long. '' she first express as she gets closer to him. ''Also.... where should we bring those suit to since we don't really need them anymore for now ?'' She asked out of curiosity.
Gendrich was down the hall less than five meters from the restrooms on the opposite wall from the entrance just lounging as he waited on Rose. When she came out and got close enough to draw his attention. "Well now that you look the part Princess, I should ask for that kiss." He scratched his cheek while smirking, "I thik someone promised me one."
Taken by surprise she just say ''W-what? Um.... '' And then she just started blushing and tried changing subject. ''So erm.... where to now ?...''
Gendrich had a mental shrug, nothing lost but a free kiss. "Let's return that cryosuit. Then we can go from there." Getting closer, he could see how red she was. "Want me to get your bag?" Gendrich offered, "it's free of charge, and if I recall you never did promise me one now did you?"
''R-Right ! '' She replied about the statement of the cryosuit and then he asked her if she wanted him to carry her bag. ''I'd appreciate it, if it's not too much trouble. My legs still feel so heavy. And.... right I never did promise it....'' She still looked to be blushing, but she sounded almost sad about it. Not that she really noticed it though.
"I've been preparing for this for awhile." Gendrich got a hand on Rosella's bag and started carrying it. "So Rose, the big question: Who is our biggest enemy right now? Three guesses and if you win, I'll give you a reward of your choosing."
''Enemy ?.... mmm... I don't know, maybe the wilderness since we have no clue what is out there ?.... '' She said trying to guess what he meant by that.
"Well the wilderness isn't our biggest foe but it's a great first guess, and correct sorta. Sigma's a terraformed planet, so there shouldn't be anything monsters straight up out of our nightmares." Gendrich smiled, "So guess number two?"
''Ummm....'' Rosella started to have the most serious face ever like she really was trying to think hard on this. ''Aliens ! '' She said out loud like she knew she was right, yet her face went back to serious. ''Though... aren't we technically the aliens here ? ....''
Gendrich mentally facepalmed. "Well Sigma is a Terrafo..." He paused. "Well I guess you have a point Rose, we'll have to worry about ~~Aliens~~." He added a little bit of levity by waggling his fingers at her. "Maybe, but not at first. Maybe at some point we'll have to worry about our fellow humans. Third guess? And I'll even give you hint: the first guess was closer."
''Mmm.... I can't really see them as enemies.... but I guess.... in hard times something bad could happen with other people too.... probably over... ressources ?.... '' She said not fully sure of what she was saying.
Gendrich sighed, "Yeah, that's why we, -" Gendrich flicked his finger towards Rosella then himself, " - you and your handsome Prince Charming, -" he gave her a wink, " - are gonna ride out into the horizon." If he was being honest, he would have prefered to come on a later ship here once the colony was self-sufficient just to avoid that chance. He just was surprised that they had allowed a convicted murder on board, his luck sucked. "So what is your third guess?"
She said ''humans?'' Although she couldn't help but chuckle a bit at what he said before that. ''I'll follow you if we have to go further, the question though is how do we equip ourselves properly if something really nasty comes out ? I don't really have much experience into fighting or anything survival really. Though I can learn and help you the best I can, if something too powerful comes out, I could end up not being able to help you much in the fight. That's my only worry really.''
"Ok, we're getting a bit out into space with this." He was confusing her. "Guess I need to clear this up a bit. Sigma didn't really have advanced life before, and when We. That's We with a capital W, meaning humans, terraformed it, we probably killed off anything that was setting down roots here in the first place. So the only Aliens you and I have to worry about is our fellow humans." Gendrich said in a way of explination. "Did that sort of clear it up?"
''Oooh I see. Then yes it clears it up. I guess I was going a bit too far into my imagination.'' She said smilling. ''Oh ! Looks like we're almost there.... mmm some people there seems to be picking up the used suits. ''
"Ok so where were we? Ohh that's right: riding into the sunset together." He let out a wistful sigh, "Just me and the Princess in a blue dress, right Princess?"
Rosella started to laugh a bit. ''Yep ! '' She said as she placed herself in line to give back the suits. ''But before that..... you think the cafeteria still have a bit of food ? Would be nice to eat something before going. ''
"Couldn't hurt to try." Gendrich was totally up for food. "So, unless I want to upset my mathmatics Instructor, I do believe that you have one guess left. Still want to go for that reward? I could make it worth your while." Gendrich had a sudden insight, and snapped his fingers. "I'll even toss in lunch." Then he crossed his arms and tilted his head while looking at Rose. "Though I'd treat you anyway, I wouldn't feel right letting you go hungry."
''Um I'm not sure what else to guess though ! '' Rosella said tilting her head on the side. ''Although you did pick my curiosity on what the reward could be.... though a lunch would be more than enough for me, I'm quite hungry to be honest.'' Her stomach confirmed that sentence by growling right at the end of it.
"Ahh only a few more people and you can turn in your suit." Gendrich said looking ahead and taking a head count. "I can give you a hint if you like, just the cost of a kiss... well I'll give you a discount and go with a hug."
Rosella nods at the suit statement, but as he mention that he could give a hint for a hug she blushed instantly. ''Well... I don't really mind hugs really so sure, I'll give you a hug for a hint since I'm not too sure what to answer anymore.''
"I guess we can put the hug on wait till you feel comfortable." Gendrich watched as the person in front of them finished and it was Rosella's turn.
''Oh here you go sir.'' She said as she gave her suit to one of the man that was taking care of it. ''And I'm okay with it really. I don't mind.'' She said with a smile.''
"Well who am I to argue?" Gendrich was teasing about all the hugs and stuff, but a free hug? Who turns down free hugs from cute girls? He walked out of the line and waited a second just in case she was really going to hug him.
She saw him go out of the line and wait and blushed a bit. She got closer and gave him a hug even though the people starring at them were kinda embarassing.
Gendrich gave her a hug back, and when they had seperated he chuckled. "Haha now I feel guilty." He scratched his cheek.
''How come ?...'' She answered curious after they let go.
"Well, that's because you had it right the first time." Gendrich laughed, he wasn't about to tell her that he thought she might have caught on and was messing with him back.
''Oh really ? Why didn't you tell me so ? Well either way you helped me a lot so far so.... the hug could be for that too.'' She said turning around to go toward where she thought could be the cafeteria.
Gendrich openedup his eyes when the expected punch to his ribs didn't happen. Catching up, Gendrich leaned forward to get a peak at Rosella's face. "You're not mad at me right?"
''No I'm not ! Don't worry ! '' She said as she continued walking. ''Let's go to the cafeteria, I'm way too hungry.''
"Ohh, well good then." Gendrich straightened and walked beside her. "You where sort of rightreally. It's not the wilderness but Sigma that we have to worry about." Gendrich paused a second. "People from Terra... Sorry bad habit of mine. People from Earth won't have to worry about Sigma much, but you and I have to. Sigma's gravity is going to be our big problem, at least at first. I can explain it a bit when we get some food if you want."
''Sure ! I'd love to hear more !'' Rosella exclaimed with a smile.

I'm wide FUCKING AWAKE NOW... who could honestly continue sleep with this Zelda last heart beeping garbage going on in this cryo-chamber? Not Link he's too busy ABOUT TO DIE... and certainly NOT ME..... Bleeeerrrrrrrrghhhh....."
*peek*
"GAHHHH! SO BRIGHT!! TOOO BRIGHT!!"
"I feel like I'm in the opening scene in a first person video game now.... man, this is some really cliché shit right now.... hehe.... what ever... time to get up, I guess..."
His inner monologue of nonsense finally done, Geon finally opened his eyes FOR REAL.
"Okay, I think I'm getting the hang of this now..... a few more seconds and everything will come into focus and maybe not look like I'm staring at heaven or something like that...
Oh... yep, here we goooo!"
The room comes into view, and Geon finally sees what's going on in the room....
"Aaand..... my first look into the outside world in likely a year or two..... and it's a bunch of people stripping down naked in front of me...... wooooowww..... yep... this is.... well, definitely an interesting start. This is some real 'garden of eden' shit going on here, man... Should I feel like a newborn baby right now in a weird sort of way? Because I sort of do, despite the adult body and the naked adults around me.... WAIT.... holy shit..... I'm in a renaissance painting.... that explains it!... Oh niice! The water's out of this thing now.... I can open this door and get out now, yaaaaaayyyyy!"
Geon finally stepped out of the pod, and with much enthusiasm at that. So much, in fact, that the sheer energy behind it cause him to collapse face forward on the floor...
"WHAT?"
Geon had overestimated his strength coming out of cryo... he felt entergetic enough, but the sleep state was still wearing off... he had really over exerted himself this time....
"DAMMIT.... Now I look like a fool.... IF I DIDN'T ALREADY...."
He struggled a bit, then slowly put his hands down to the floor, and pushed himself up. He got into seating position and came to terms with his current.... state of physical ability....
"Maybe I should just sit here for a minute and think about this... oohhh, I know what I need... I should do some STRETCHES!
yeaahhhh!!"
Geon got up after a bit and started stretching, getting a feel for the gravity and such... really not too different from earth, but then, different enough that he felt it a bit, mainly due to the lower artificial gravity of the ship, which he ahd gotten used to a bit more, thanks to the unexpected 'wake up' mid way..... THAT had been crazy... Geon was pretty surprised, thinking back, that he had actually survived it...
He got done with what he deemed to be enough stretches. Feeling a lot more limber, he decided to head for his locker, where he fished out his clothes and gear and walked to the bathroom to change. Yeah, most had just changed where they were, but hey, he wasn't in a hurry, and besides, it wasn't like they DESERVED to see him naked... just kidding, Geon was actually kinda nervous about stripping in front of people, and he had walked a ways to his locker already anyway, so whatever....
After he ahd changed, he was eager to get out of this place... It was time to see his new world.... He got his bag of equipment together, put his goggles on his forehead, and got his backpack on. Finally, he headed to the ship exit.
"Here we go.... The real planet..... TIME TO SEE THE LIGHT!!!"
He stepped out the door of the ship and took a deep breath.
"Huuuuuuu- *COUGH HACK....*
He practically broke a sweat right there....
"DAMMIT IT'S HUMID...."

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
Jo steps off of the ship's ramp, moving outwards into the area where they will be colonizing. She sees a lot of people moving about, putting up temporary lodgings for everyone. She already has a plan: claim land, scout the area, and read all the information she can find on the local life--plants, animals, or whatever she can get her hands on.
She looks around, gesturing for her henchmen to follow. After doing about three different walks through the area, she finally decides where she wants her home. She holds out her hand to one of her henchmen expectantly and he hands her four flags with her name on them. She takes them from his hand and drives the first pole of one of the flags deep into the ground. She does this three more times until the area of her claim is properly marked.

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
[Attn: Geon]
The planet is humid and it feels like a sweaty blanket to Geon, probably making him wish he was underground or holed up where ever it is that he's going to call home. Whether that home is here among the starting colony, or somewhere else, there is still somethings that need checking.
With a little talking he can probably persuade some of the people at the Communications Relay to use it for a few minutes to check on his drones in sigma and to make sure they haven't wandered off somewhere and broken down. Being self autonomous is all well and good, but Geon has been suspended in Cryo-sleep for almost two years.
[Attn: Lucy/Jo]
AriOS sensors pick up the radio signal from Lucy Lawless' claim markers. The claim is registered and placed into the archive of the Comms Relay as well her personal files for later.
Despite the claim being fairly close to the landing site it is acceptable and the signal lights on Jo's claim markers flash and blink a signal code before turning green to indicate that her application has been accepted.
"So Boss, this is gonna be the new base huh? Want us to start laying claim to everything around it?" Her minions seem almost over eager to please her, but much of their possessions and hers are still locked aboard Arion. Perhaps it might be worth sending one of them to check on their things and see about speeding it up.
[Attn: Rosella]
Gendrich walks into the cafeteria and notices that its very packed. Luckily by the time Rosella and he make it through the line there is enough room to grab a couple chairs near one of the bar counters.
"So like I was saying: Our new home is going to be rough for us for abit." Gendrich twists the nozzle on one of his food tips and sips at the slurry within. His eye twitches and the corner of his mouth twists at the taste of the stuff. "Hopefully we can handle the strain until the nanos labor away to make us adapt to everything." Gendrich is likely taking about the standard nanomachines that many humans receive as part of normal check ups on planets and colonies outside Earth. The millions of tiny tireless workers that do their best to reduce the problems of low gravity on the human body. "Wait... when's the last time you had a check up?" Gendrich asks concerned. Rosella did volunteer for this project without any planning, and many of her things were rather old or worn. He knew she lived with her Aunt or was it her grandmother? Either way, Gendrich didn't know much about Atalanta or it's economy. Did Atalanta even have universal healthcare? Gendrich couldn't recall, and many of the pioneers on these kind of colony projects were from the most desperate available, particularly during the first dozen waves or so. Private companies wound come in at some point and start snatching everything up once the colony got set up. They wanted a return on their investments after all.

(ATTN : Gendrich/Cafeteria)
**SOORRY I TOOK SO LONG !!!!**
They arrived at the cafeteria and it was packed with people, but it was okay. ''Yes it will be a bit difficult.'' She said smilling. ''But ! I'm sure we can do it !!'' Rosella added looking motivated. ''In the meanwhile though... food would be nice !'' She added again. Before she could go toward where the food was being served, Gendrich brought over the topic of when was her last medical examination and he spoke about nanos too. ''Nanos ? And my last examination... mmm.... I'd say it was maybe ... a years ago ? .... I didn't really have troubles since then... soo I didn't really go after since it costed money to do so.''

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
Jo begins issuing orders to her minions, from little things to baggage claims to larger things, like strategic land claims. Although she's careful not to get too close to the main colony's base, she also has to figure out how she's going to manage to get herself in charge of this place. It's going to happen.
However, as much of the moving and planning began, she realized something important...she is hungry. With a roll of her eyes, she heads back towards the ship so as to find her way into the cafeteria. She'd do anything to get some food crammed down her throat so that her stomach will shut up, allowing her to continue her long work that she has ahead of her.
A few people stopped her, thanking her for her "service" towards the civilians in her room. Most of them were not people she recognized, but either way, she just shrugged it off, telling them to remember that "service" of hers in the future, when she needed them in return. This usually resulted in confused faces, but she didn't have time to explain. Food is what matters most in this place, right now.
Finding her way into the cafeteria, she is quick to grab some grub and find a seat far, far away from the others. Those seats of gaps soon fill up and she is disappointed to find no space between her and others any longer. How annoying. People are annoying.

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
After several long and tedious startup checks, Allie stepped out of her container, immediately feeling the effects of the new environment. Her knees slightly buckled under the planet's gravity until her motors calibrated themselves for optimal movement. After packing her gear, ready for her first directive, she loudly exclaimed "Hello world!" before making her way to the cryo-pods to assist the surviving passengers. There, she helped pull weakened passengers out of their cryo-pods, as well as providing physical therapy for those temporarily unable to walk. The more serious cases were either put in a wheelchair or carried to the infirmary for detection of muscle atrophy.
Once all the passengers were out of their pods, Allie stayed near the ship, watching over the settlers claiming land for themselves. Like a cat clawing through furniture, Allie ran her talons through the soil, feeling the familiar support of the ground beneath her. Despite being on an alien planet, Allie was always more accustomed to the outdoors. The narrow passageways and polished floors of the ship were more of a hindrance than anything.

"Well, at least the two-year nap was pretty nice, I guess... maybe I shouldn't have woken up... This place isn't making the greatest impression so far... although... I've not really been in a jungle environment before.... It does sorta look amazing... I guess...
Well, I guess I had better get to it... a lot to set up while it's still day light, or at least.... make sure everything is still operating okay.... kinda hard to run remote diagnostics on equipment that has been a few hundred light years away from me, but now I should be in range...... but first... I gotta sync this stuff in the first place... How long are days on this planet again? I know we went over that a lot at the start of the recruitment process.... then again, that's been TWO YEARS.... and I've SLEPT since then...
Well, I'm not gonna get answers just asking myself, I don't guess! ....well, unless of course they did some kind of deep seeding memory experiments to us while we were in cryo...." >.> <.<
And so, Geon headed for the Communications Relay, or well, he tried any way... it was the one place he could get his equipment checked on, plus he should be able to remote sync his handheld to his drones there and at least check their status and find them himself... That would have to be his first stop for sure. The only problem was the Communications Relay, which he swore couldn't be far from the ship... seemed to be well, he couldn't see it from here.... Was it on the other side of the ship? (=_=) ? "huuuuuuuuhhhhh???"
On top of that, the crowd was getting thicker out here now.... and most people seemed to be just as confused....
"This isn't going to get any easier as we go either and I gotta get out before this gets to overwhelming.... it's already hot and humid enough out here with out all these people around.... Pretty soon this place is gonna feel like a big sauna or something.... maybe even turn into a mud puddle with all the sweat... gross to think of it... eww...."
So Geon just headed off in.... well, a direction, anyway. He started by looking around the ship as best he could, which with all the people, was getting harder to do.. not to mention that while the direct area around the ship wasn't necessarily heavily wooded, it was still not what Geon would call the most 'friendly' terrain. Small plants, easy to trip over, seemed to be everywhere. And then there were more and more people, EVERYWHERE... "If I knew there would be this many PEOPLE in my way too... wtf??"
He finally managed to get around the ship at just right angle to see a fairly decent sized structure with a satellite relay on it... oh. >.>
That was one thing solved, but unfortunately it looked like there were already quite a few people starting to line up over there for various things. It was gonna be a popular place pretty soon. Geon sped over that way and got in line.. Luckily, it seemed not many people had quite made it over there yet so far. Looked like it was gonna take a bit to get through the line though.... oh well... he wasn't sure what he was gonna say when he got there anyway... shouldn't be hard to ask to do ONE SIMPLE TASK, but he was all a bit too familiar with how these dumb things often worked. No one ever had their shit completely together and because of that, they always made it a total pain in the ass to get your shit that their shit was SUPPOSED to be HELPING YOU GET. SHIT..... ]
It angered Geon a bit just to think about.... damned bureaucratic bullshit....

Re: Sigma 25 Colonization Project
Cafeteria
(ATTN : Jo, Open)
"I can understand that." Gendrich said reflexively, "or rather I'd want to say that but Mars has a manditory healthcare system. Atlantica must be rougher. I figured things would be different, after all you have all that water." It just baffles the mind. Back home they said things where very different out elsewhere in the universe.
Rosella is surprised to learn about how it was mandatory on mars. ''I didn't know it was, I hope at least they had better health coverage for forcing you to do it.'' She then had a small noise coming from her stomach.
His eyes stretching in surprise he looked down towards Rosella's stomach even though his view was blocked by a table. "Was that you? I mean I thought we just fed that thing." Rising to his feet, he pulled out his Credcard and motioned towards the vending machines. "Did you want Se-conds Princess?"
''Um.... yes please ?....'' She said with a look of apology and a smile.
"Gladly." Gendrich said as he reached out and grabbed Rosella's hand. "Come on let's fill up that belly of a beast you've got. All that cryosleep can have that effect on people once they get settled." This girl might just eat me out of house and home, Gendrich laughed at the thought. Good thing he was a farmer, or that might be a problem.
Rosella smiled and said ''Thank you. And I am slightly more hungry then usual... although I always kinda had a good appetite. I'll try my best to calm down once we go survival mode... well my tummy might still protest though. '' She knocks her tummy gently with a fist saying ''Bad tummy bad !''
"No need to go positively barbarian on the poor thing. I think it's best to make a choice soon before it revolt's on us both." Gendrich continued to joke around about it while they waited in line for Rose's chance. "I'm not to worried about our food situation, I and by extention you should be good and clear till we manage to grow something." Gendrich smirked, "Though I'm not sure if we'll like the stuff, Gravity is probably going to throw it all off kilter."
''I can manage with cheaper food till we grow stuff it's cool. As for the gravity... we'll probably get used to it soon ? I hope ?....'' Rosella said trying to think of more solutions. ''Dunno if there's tricks to make your body adapt to it faster or something.''
"Boy do I wish there was a trick, but I fear we'll hate our new little homeworld for the near future." Gendrich said gruffly, even sighing a bit. "Honestly I've been dreading it. I envy those from Good ol' Earth. Lucky shits."
"So what are you picking for this round?" He asked looking over her shoulder interested.
''Ummm..... Oh they have fruits !! I can't believe they kept them fresh like that. Then again we were frozen and are alive and well I guess ! ... I think I'll take the fruit salad there. If it's okay !'' Rosella was happy to find these, she loved eating fruit salads whenever she could before.
"Are you sure it's fresh? I mean it's probably more like fresh-frozen." Gendrich wasn't really sure, but he might figure it out if he really tried. "The pamplet did mention that the ship has an agroponics sector. I've been curious, but it's probably off limits."
''Well to be fair we were frozen too and we're fine. So I'm sure this salad is A-okay too ! '' She said with a thumbs up really wanting that salad.
Gendrich smiled at her optimism as he swiped his credcard to pay for the meal and they went back to sit down. "So?" He picked up a fork and stole a piece of fruit from Rosella's fruit salad. "Questions?"
Rosella did a face of But my fruit !! when he stole one, but then she just started to eat some herself. When he asked his question she thinks and answers ''Um.... well mostly do we leave to explore right after this slowly even if we're still a bit unsure with the gravity or do we wait more ? Unless you also wanted me to have a medical test before to be sure everything is okay before we leave ?''
His fork completed a couple circles as gendrich twirle his wrist, before it stopped to point at Rose. "You have a point there. I'd rather wait till they off load my things tomorrow before exploring away from the base camp, but I think you're right about getting a check up." Gendrich set his fork down on the table rather than attempt to steal more of Rosella's dessert from her. "We'll need to find somewhere to sleep tonight too. Maybe they have somewhere set up already, or we can bum a room someplace on the ship. What do you think?"
''I think a room on the ship should be cool. Plus if I do go get a check up I don't know how long it'll take depending... maybe the results of some tests will take a bit longer and I should stay on the ship. '' She continued eating a few fruit pieces after she finished her sentence.
"Maybe I should ask you all sorts of personal questions" his tone part flirty part teasing. "After all I want to know all about this adorable cute kitten I've adopted." His hands rose to rest under his chin as he interlocked his fingers. "We can take turns! So? -" Gendrich left a sizeable pause before he tried looking serious and asked "Do you snore?"
Rosella almost choke on a piece of fruit since she wasn't expecting that switch of tone. She get slightly flustered, but at this point she knows he's just messing with her so she tries to brush it off and not show it too much. ''Um.... Not that I know of, unless I'm sick or exausted to the point of falling asleep instantly. But even then I've heard that... it's more like a light snore then anything.
"Ohh fhhhew" Gendrich said leaning back with an exaggerated response. "I guess it's only fair to let you switch back and for with the questions. You're up, I need time to think up a good one."
''Umm.....What's your favorite fruit ? '' Rosella asked, being curious.
"Most people on Mars don't get to see actual fruit, except in books. Lucky for you, I'm like a fourth generation farmer." Gendrich said with a fair amount of evident pride. "Easy one: Tomato. Most food on Mars is processed and liquified. Lots of little reasons why, but hope you like slurry, because that's what I brought to keep us until we manage to grow some actual food."
"Now I forgot what I was going to ask." His finger tapped the table in a rhythm as he pondered for a second. "Ah ha, I've got it: how good are you with being in tight spaces, some likely underground?"
''I see ! And I don't mind slurry and as for tight space, depends how tight we're talking about. And are you planning on doing some kind of underground base ?....'' Rosella asked, not sure where he was going with this.
"I've brought some tunneling equipment for just that sort of thing. Nothing fancy, I kind of had to figure a work around to make a home. The fees on supplies was pretty high, my father just about had a corinary helping me with this."
"Not everything will be underground, but at least it'll be nice and safe just incase. Though I did bring a little tiny home module to start. It wasn't really made for two, but we'll make it work."
Gendrich put on a little flirty smile, "Rose Darlin, we'll just not have to think of it as tight, but cozy." he winked just to tease her.
''Oh so like we'll do some kind of mining stuff ?... I don't mind then as for the house module I mean I don't mind sleeping on the floor if anything. And having a house to start will be nice. '' She said with a smile, although his change of tone made her slightly flustered again.''
"Kinda sorta about the mining. Part of it also might be the so called Martian Madness." Gendrich says in way of explaining. "Ohh I see you're confused. Like, ok. phew" Gendrich blows out a breath, trying to figure that out. "Mars isn't exactly one of those planets like this one that could be easily terraformed. So early on they sort of built lots of tunnels, and just made a few domes to allow us to see the sun and stars. Being below ground too long can drive you crazy and mess you up - " He waved his hand around in a circle indicating himself "medically."
"So they got around it by adjusting the light schedules, but in lots of areas, if they wanted to save power they'd turn them off more, or leave them on to try and boost productivity. It kinda messed them up, made some go crazy. Most of those, sort of adapted to life in tunnels, it makes em feel safer. I didn't notice it so much on Mars, but hopping to Atlantica sort of made me realize that maybe that Martian Mole Madness is there -" He tapped his head and then his heart, "- even if just a little." They hadn't been outside, and he had a slight trepidation to step out yet and just go look. It would be there tomorrow, and Demos and Phobos be damned, a whole new planet to see too.
"So it's your turn then Rose. What sort of questions did you have for me? It's only fair." Gendrich asked.
''Oh I see. That must have been pretty rough, the life on mars I mean.'' She then hears him ask her if she had question for him. ''Mmmm.... I'm not sure what to ask honestly, other then maybe more details on what we'll do once we're set. '' She said eating more fruits. ''I'm thinking we can get to know each other more on the way too, feels like asking everything now would be like getting spoilers.'' She said with a small chuckle.
When she mentioned life on Mars Gendrich shrugged and scrunched his face a little as he sais "Not really." It was worse for those that came first. "Well Rose darling, we can just take our time." A playful smile returning a little bit of teasing entering back into his voice, "Just like we're supposed to. Should we go visit the doctors?"
Rose laugh slightly and says ''Sure let's go see them, I just finished eating too.''
"Then we're off." Gendrich said rising from the chair and then offering his hand to her. "Oh before I forget we should probably go thank that girl over there." He tilted his head slightly to indicate Lucy. "Manners and such. What do you think?"
''Oh yes we should ! We wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her.'' She said nodding with a smile.
Walking over, Gendrich stopped with Rosella tagging along with him. "I'd like to say thank you for earlier... with the cafeteria and the robots."
''Yes ! Thank you so much. We probably would have all died without you. I am really grateful. '' She said smiling to the woman.
