Rigor Mortis Role-Play

Tricks eyes shot open, and he arched his back, leaping to his feet inside the unfamiliar hole. Im standing in a grave, he noted.

"Can't even bury me alive properly," he muttered under his breath, pulling a knife out and jamming it into the side of the grave, using it to help pull him up to the edge of the grave.

He dragged himself out and rolled to his feet, pulling his gun out fluidly. He was in a massive graveyard, and he wasnt alone. In fact, he seemed to have woken in the middle of a confrontation.

He glanced back at the grave, his eyes growing wide as he saw the headstone. He knelt down next to it, grabbing up handfuls of dirt to bury it and obscure his birth name. Best, he thought, to fall back and observe. But there was no place to fall back to. Just graves.

He kept his gun and one knife in handing, hoping to pass unnoticed.

Awakening with a snarl, Ariadne sat up and looked around in a daze. "Where am I, how long have I been asleep?" she whispered in a coarse voice. She found herself in a box she quickly recognized to be a coffin. It was buried deep into the dry dirt. There were shrieks and clanging noises above her, "There must be a battle going on," she concluded. Not quite sure what to do, Ariadne anxiously stroked the lining of the coffin. The silky touch put her slightly at ease. Working out her thoughts, she jumped to her feet. "Someone must have done this to me in spite," she accused in a low voice. Angry, but not quite enraged, she whistled for her wolf companion. Holo quickly appeared, so fast it was as if she had been watching her closely the whole time. Not startled, as this was Holo's usual behavior, Ariadne nodded at her; signaling to prepare for combat. Ariadne took a deep breath, and floated her arms upward. Wind aided Ariadne and Holo and they leapt out of the hole swiftly, landing smoothly. Now, in an unearthly hiss she said so only she could hear, "This could be fun," and smirked and exposed her fangs.

He sighed. "You can't be serious," he muttered, scanning. One lizard thing, one wolf thing, and a small group of alien like things commanded by the one human there. He looked her over. Professional. Probably military.

None of this made sense. "I guess I appreciate you pulling me out of where I was," he said, training his gun on the little crossbow thing. "But I'd really like to know why. I also am not a huge fan of being threatened and all." Hell he'd have already open fired if they all had been human. He couldn't make judgments on these... things. At least not the woman's drones.

Suddenly, light shone again after brief darkness. The heavy contrast to the world Calamity was in before caused him to run a quick system scan for any errors. Everything checked out fine. For some reason, the android was in some polygonal casing well below what he imagined was earth. Calamity could already hear voices; one vaguely reminiscent of a human.

The distance from the casing to the surface measured to be a distance Calamity could jump over. He carefully got to his feet, wondering where his master has disappeared to. He swiftly hopped up to the surface. The sky was an odd color but the air seemed to have a stable chemical makeup. "No immediate threats detected. Switching to stealth operations." Calamity's radar picked up several moving objects all around him. The clouds didn't seem to provide much cover, and the land was too open. Calamity then drew his beam scythe, but left the weapon in standby. His first priority was to find Meriel.

The engine on Calamity's back began to whir softly as his body began levitating above the hard earth. He made sure to stay low and follow the rows of tombstones. Calamity flew off towards where his scanners found Meriel.

Rose's eyes open and she looks around.  Laying at her side are Wyvern and Bogie, yawning and turning over.  "Asleep?  I don't sleep," she says, plucking them both to get off of her wing so she can fly up from this hole, carrying them both with her.  Bogie awakens as he's being lifted and yelps at how far down the fall is.  "Please do us all a favor and quiet yourself, Bogie."  Rose lands and looks at the tombstone near her grave.  It was blank, for she has no true name.  She then looks up at the sky.  It was a bit brighter and less violent than she was used to.  No thunderclouds or lightening.  Just a yellow moon high overhead.

Wyvern wakes up, having been set down.  "Highness?"  She says with a yawn.  "Highness, where are we?"

"I doubt we're still in Sydna.  This isn't any part of the badlands that I'm familiar with.  I don't sense the Darklight anywhere."  She intentionally ignores the commotion all around her as her wings suddenly transform in a swarm of bats-like creatures, all smaller than Wyvern, that form a sort of floating cushion for her to sit on and think.  "Yet I feel as if my Darklight powers are back.  Curious.  Now if only we could get these others to get quiet so I could think."

"Should we silence them, highness?"  Wyvern asks.

"I don't really care.  Just stay here.  It'll resolve itself."

Calamity soon found Meriel standing with other, less familiar beings. Nobody seemed to be attacking, so Calamity kept his scythe off. As he approached Meriel, he scanned the others around her. Some seemed to be holding weapons, others were in possession of lesser creatures.

"Miss Meriel," The android claimed as his feet touched the ground. "I have deducted that these unidentified subjects are armed and dangerous. What is your course of action?" Even though Calamity was talking to Meriel, his visor-hidden face was trained on the others, especially the one with the lizard-esque creature.

As angry as Ariadne was, she hardly noticed Merial at all. To the notion of quitting the battle, though, she scoffed. There was no way of knowing who was her enemy or not, and she'd rather not wait to find out. Vexed, Ariadne prepared to strike Merial. But, when she suddenly exclaimed, "CALAMITY," Ariadne decidedly backed down. She did not want to get in the middle of what she was sure to be a happy reunion and appear as the bad guy. With her thoughts slowing down, becoming more reasonable and her anger and confusion filled anger diminishing, she retired to watching how things play out.

Cerberus looks at the thing that is calling her an abomination. She licks her fangs and eyes it. "Who are you calling an abomination?" she said snarling. She looks at the woman who seems to be controlling whatever it was that was aiming its weapons at her. "I don't know who you are calling an abomination, but from where I am from I am quite normal."

She takes a step and watches as the things take an aim at her. "Would you rather I take my human form?" she said.

Cerberus howls and takes a moment to transform back into a human. She looks at the woman and speaks in a normal voice. "Does this better suit you? I am no longer a so called abomination." she grins flashing her teeth. "I suggest we work together to find out what has happened here. It is quite obvious either we have each died and reawakened or one of us are dreaming and I would say that it's me."

Trick backed away slowly as the woman's attention was divided, taking his own time to scan the others around them. There was the vaguely lizard-like woman with the blue scales, of course, and the wolf-creature, but others were coming out of their own holes. A dark haired younger girl who was trying to stay unnoticed; another horned girl who seemed oddly animalistic; and now this... android? Who seemed to know the lizard-woman.

I'm in the middle of a freakshow. He almost wished he was back with Thorne. There at least there had been some certainly. At least then he knew his options.

But this... too much of this was foreign. He couldn't be sure how strong any of them were - even the wallflower in the back. The lizard-girl was trying to bring things to order as the professional looking woman summoned more minions. He watched her carefully, looking away to look at the other graves. Most of them had the name Von Chrest on them.

Watching the professional, he suddenly realized he'd been wrong. She wasn't in charge at all. She had no idea what was going on. She just looked over her head. He smirked at the thought, pulling his gun up but keeping it in hand.

"Died I'd believe," he muttered, watching as the wolf-thing transformed. Werewolf. Really. I can roll with it. "If we ask one of these Von Chrests we might get an answer," he called in response. Assuming they could find one. "It is their cemetery, looks like."
