This is an RP with aspects borrowed from D&D that is for myself, Kiseki, and sagiri only. If you want to start your own D&D based RP, I'm open for questions, but registration for this one is closed.

Name: Darast Reisen

Appearance: He is 5'9", 149lbs, with a slim but muscled frame. He has silver hair which reaches down to his lower back that he usually keeps in a braid and his eyes are blue. He's usually seen in his armour. TADAA

Back Story: Darast was orphaned as a baby and was taken in by a mercenary group, which he stayed with until he was 17. He fought with the mercenaries in the Malar-Arachen War in the Karedde hills against forces from Palino and was almost killed by a stab wound to the chest. After he was wounded, he fell down a chasm in the hills, but was saved after he hit the bottom by a few Clerics of Bahamut, who had received orders from the deity to do so.

They took him to the Dragon Lands, an area south of the Great Plain, where dragons are worshipped as much as regular deities, through a cave system which he had landed in. He recovered in the Temple of Bahamut and was chosen to be Bahamut's Paladin by the deity. He has been training with a Paladin from the nearby Temple of Heironeous for the past three years.

Appearance: He’s a little above average height and slim with pale skin and purple hair that covers one of his blue eyes. Like so.

Backstory: Casimir was born into an upper-middle class family in the city of Orios. When he was eleven, his sorcerer powers began to manifest in the form of lights and sounds that startled even him at first. His mother was the first to clue in, as her younger brother was also a sorcerer. His father, a man concerned with status and appearances above all else, wasn’t particularly keen on the idea of having a ‘different’ son. He left the family when Casimir was twelve. His mother was stunned by her husband’s reaction, as sorcerers were not stigmatized and she had never witnessed anyone react to her brother in such a way. As an overprotective mother, she feared that others would respond similarly and kept Casimir as confined from the outside as possible. Her mental health was deteriorating by this time; she grew increasingly paranoid and controlling in the following years. Unable to cope with her madness, she committed suicide several months ago, leaving Casimir on his own with more freedom than he’d ever had.

Casimir has lived a sheltered life and as such, he knows very little of the world. He can be quite charming when he wants to be but he’s prone to mood swings and stubbornness. Even though he sometimes comes off as a know-it-all, he’s actually pretty naïve. He lacks foresight and as such, tends to follow his whims over his logic.

Back Story: When Chazz was young, his parents wished to give him a normal family life despite their racial differences. They lived on the outskirts of Lysas at his father’s home for much of Chazz’s childhood, during which he dreamed of one day becoming a paladin and fighting for justice.

However, their peace only lasted until Chazz was 8, when his elven mother’s very high class and anti-human family began to hunt them down, angry with Chazz’s mother for the unforgivable disgrace she brought upon them. Chazz and his parents were forced to flee to avoid the assassins that were sent after them, which they did for nearly a year until one day while they were living in Palino. The elven assassins found their home and Chazz’s parents instructed him to escape while they dealt with the assassins. Before being killed, they managed to convince the elves that the family had been misinformed; they had no child.

After finding that his parents were dead, Chazz wandered the city until he was reluctantly taken in by an orphanage. The other children were human and he was the subject of much discrimination, forced by the orphanage owners to live in poorer conditions than the others. After living this way for about a year, Chazz snapped and killed the orphanage owners. An organization of rogues, hearing of this potential recruit, quickly took him in and trained him to be a rogue and a valuable member of their force.

Name: Raphael Berlithmyr

Back Story: Raphael is the heir to the influencial aristocratic Berlithmyr family. Ever since he was a small child he has displayed a wide variety of involuntary motor and vocal tics, causing his family to believe that he is possessed by some sort of demon or evil spirit. After many failed attempts to banish the evil, Raphael's parents decided to have him become a cleric of Pelor in hopes that the deity would help him if he was a good servant. However, despite learning to heal and helping many people, Raphael's condition has not improved.

Recently, Raphael's parents sent him on a journey to improve his abilities in human territory. They have little hope that the deity will heal him after all this time and secretly expect him to be killed, in which case his younger, healthier brother would become the heir. Raphael's parents hired a human who was doing mercenary work in elf territory to be their son's bodyguard during his journey.

The Berlithmyr family's strong dislike for humans has caused Raphael to become wary of them. He tends to feel uncomfortable around them and sometimes has difficulty understanding their speech because he has never dealt with native speakers of Common.

Name: Elyse Lagana

Back Story: Elyse was born in a border town between human and elven territory. Her grandmother was a retired general and spent her days running a combat training school; Elyse learned fighting techniques from her. Her family had no problem with the elves and always encouraged Elyse to keep an open mind about them in spite of what she heard other townsfolk saying. When Elyse was 17, she fell in love with an elven boy. The two kept their relationship a secret from his family and eventually became engaged. His family found out through town gossip and refused to accept the union. He disappeared without a trace and Elyse still has no idea if he's dead or alive.

She has since joined a mercenary brigade and prefers to accept jobs in elven territory, hoping that by treating the elves with respect, she can help change their opinions of humans.

Backstory: Makari was born in the city of Orios. He lived with his parents and older sister until his parents were killed by burglars when he was eleven. They had no other family, so his sister took care of him. When he was twelve, she got married and had a baby with her husband. His sorcerer powers had begun to manifest the year before. His sister's husband already disliked him for his spirited nature; the fact that he was a sorcerer only added to his ire. When he was fifteen, his brother-in-law tricked him into going into town with him one evening and proceeded to sell him to slave traders.

Makari was sold to a harsh master and unsuccessfully tried to escape numerous times. Finally, when he was seventeen he managed to get away. He didn't think it would be safe to try to get back to Orios, so he wandered for a while. He was half-starved, battered and had nothing but the tattered clothing he was wearing, so he soon realized that he had to find somewhere to go. He soon found out about a rogue group and managed to become initiated by appealing to them with his magic.

He remained with the group for about six years. His last mission, which he was assigned to with Chazz, was a disaster. Both of them were equally to blame for the failure, but Makari lied to the boss and told him that it was entirely his own fault. He was cast out of the group.

The last five years of his life have been spent as a drifter, travelling throughout the region and picking up temporary jobs of incredibly varied types.

Back Story: Nadina's father runs a very successful metalworking and crafting business, and thus she has always lived in luxury. She was raised to be a proper lady, though her attitude tends to get in the way of that and she has a habit of mouthing off. It only got worse when her parents split, and she and her mother went to live in the family's second house. She had always been close to her father and it took a toll on her.

She loves nature, but isn't allowed to go very far from the mansion, so she spends a lot of time out in the garden. This is what drove her to study the druid class, and her tutor found she had quite a knack for it. She's never been in actual combat, however. As a present for reaching the 2nd level, she was given her pet wolf, Yuki.

Since he and Raphael are of similar age, they hung out various times as they were growing up. Airon is a bit of a troublemaker and doesn't hold to his family's strict properness. He has a tendency to steal things and lie, and he hangs out with people who his family would rather he not.

Back Story: Valtteri was born to an elven mother and never knew his father. His mother got married to a another elf when he was very young and the two had a daughter together. Growing up, Valtteri was keenly aware of how the rest of society viewed him, especially in contrast with his sister. This made him unable to trust people and caused him to resent his sister. Between his suspicious nature, cynical attitude and the typical uneasiness his race triggers in people, Valtteri is bad at making friends and even worse at keeping them, with only a few exceptions.

Back Story: Tarian is Airon's older brother, and unlike his sibling, he behaves in a more proper manner. However, this does not hold true when it comes to humans. His family's teachings have left him with a strong resentment for the race, which he considers to be less intelligent and barbaric. Tarian has always liked Raphael's family, though Raphael's tolerance for humans perplexes him.

Back Story: Azrael’s mother died giving birth to his younger brother, Gabriel. Their father had never been entirely stable and the death of his wife caused him to completely snap. Azrael dealt with his increasingly volatile behaviour stoically for Gabriel’s sake, letting everything build up inside of him. One night, it all came to a head and Azrael killed his father. He then fled the town with Gabriel before anyone could find out what had happened. The two had no choice but to learn to survive on the streets. Azrael had always been protective of his brother, but became fiercely so during this time.

The two finally got an out when Azrael’s reputation caught the attention of a rogue group. He agreed to join as long as they agreed to take Gabriel in as well. Azrael rose through the ranks of the group, becoming one of their most prized assassins. During his time with them, Gabriel took Chazz and Makari in. Azrael was reluctant to agree to it at first, but he soon became attached to them, Chazz in particular.

Back Story: His family lived in a hilly area in the Dragon Lands; a secluded area where no human or elf has been. He lived with his grandparents, parents, and two younger sisters, all of whom were Othellai. He was raised in a very Draconic household, worshipping a Draconic deity and speaking the Draconic language, though he was taught the common language later on and can speak it passably but with an accent.

As much as he enjoyed his life, he longed to travel and see new things, and find some nice shiny treasures too. So he set off in no particular direction and eventually ended up in elven territory. He quickly learned that the elves weren't very accepting of someone who looked different than them, and that they were quite different from his people back home. Using the Hat of Disguise that his father had given him, he made himself look like them and was able to pick up some Elvish along the way. Since then he's become a somewhat well-known bard, though people are still wary of him because of his unusual accent and sometimes strange behaviour.
