The UNRIVALED RP

Guidelines & Rules:
•  Follow the RP Guidelines & GtR Rules.
•  Minimum character age is 16 (or the equivalent in alien years). You CAN be younger, but 16 is the minimum to enter the actual tournament.
•  When it comes to creating your character, be thorough with their abilities and what they can achieve with them. I'm not going to require to provide me with the name and specs on every move in your character's arsenal, but provide me with enough information that I can believe some move you pull out of your rear, later, is something they'd actually be capable of.
•  You may create your own alien species & worlds if you please. If you'd rather not, but want to be an alien, talk to me. This is loosely based on a series of my own creation, in which there are a few established alien races I can suggest for you.
•  If your character is NOT approved, please address the noted conflicts in their application.
•  If you want to fight other PCs at any point outside of the actual tournament, that's fine. But during PC v. PC tournament matches, I'll be moderating. Unless there's sufficient reason to believe I shouldn't need to (like, for example, a character is very obviously outclassed and there is zero chance of them winning without the winning the Deus Ex Machina lottery). If you want me to moderate your out-of-tournament fights, just ask.
•  "OP" is a bit relative, considering where this RP will be going. If I tell you a character is OP, I'm also liable to tell you that you CAN have that level of power, just not yet. The same goes for the competence level of your character.
•  No gods. Not gonna get into why, but no literal god characters. Even if their level of power is sufficiently low enough.
•  On the same token, no demons or angels.
•  Pure-blooded Aliens cannot be Espers or Metas. That is strictly human. Aliens can, however, have abilities similar to human Espers and Metas. Usually an alien will have this as an inherent genetic ability of their race. They can also wield Chi, Chakra, or Mana, same as anyone.
•  If you do want to play antagonist, talk to me. We'll work stuff out.
•  Characters (PCs or NPCs) cannot die unless their death is pre-approved.
•  Try to post at least bi-weekly. I'll assume the role of puppet master for your character until you return, otherwise.
•  You may be any alignment you please, but as is implied by the previous bullet, if you're Evil and intend to be an active antagonist, we'll talk.
•  Things can - and will - change about your character over time. Please keep your application up-to-date.
•  If you're not up to fight in the tournament, and there isn't an out-of-tournament event going on for you (basically me giving your character something to do) feel free to sandbox with one another. But please, please please please, don't take too terribly long and hold things up.

Just as a quick guide to what will easily be the most complicated part of the application - Skills, Powers & Abilities, Techniques.

While it is fairly self explanatory, I'll review them anyway, just so there's no confusion. Skills are things that can be learned ordinarily in the real world. Fighting prowess, cooking, etc. Powers & Abilities are exactly what they sound like. Yes, you can learn Chi, Chakra, and Mana manipulation in this world, but they're still not ordinary things so that kind of stuff goes in this category. Along with any Esper or Meta powers, or abilities had by an alien species. Techniques are bound to be the most confusing. Simply put, they're the specific things you can do WITH your skills or powers/abilities. Not everyone who can manipulate Chi knows how to fly or enhance their physical parameters, for example, even if it is something they could figure out, one day. This is also the section where detailed named attacks go. The example below should make it fairly clear, but if you do still have any questions, le'me know.

Skills
INTELLECT – Eris is actually an incredibly gifted young woman, when it comes to the cerebral. She’s an insanely quick study, and has a knack for teaching herself whatever she desires. She’s managed to become a tech wizard, having learned enough about her father’s Warp technology to repair it, or even build personal models of more advanced Warp Tech devices.

MARTIAL ARTS – Eris is an exceptional martial artist, having trained in self defense from the time she was young. While she’s learned a number of styles, she’s not mastered any one of them, instead emphasizing versatility over mastery of any one style. However, she’s particularly adept at a select few styles, tending to favor Korean and Japanese martial arts over others, and knows one or two alien-created styles as well.

Powers & Abilities
CHI MANIPULATION – Chi manipulation is an exceptionally difficult ability to use. Mastery takes years, upon years of training. Even learning to simply harness it, let alone learning the most basic techniques, can take months, if not longer. Eris has not only learned how to manipulate chi, but she taught herself the basics in a matter of weeks.

Techniques
PHYSICAL AUGMENTATION – Despite her lack of formal training in doing so, Eris is able to use her Chi to willfully augment her physical parameters to achieve superhuman feats. However, because of that very lack of formal training, her self-taught method is rather ham-fisted and unrefined. As such, it causes considerable strain on her body, the longer it's active.
•  SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH – Eris has always been deceptively strong. However, the use of her Chi allows her to exceed this in spades. At one point she proved capable of effortlessly knocking over a fully equipped news van with what seemed to be a casual backhand, whilst trying to get paparazzi to leave her alone.
•  SUPERHUMAN SPEED – Eris has always been relatively quick, but through Chi augmentation her reaction and sprinting speeds are well beyond average human limits. She’s proven capable of keeping pace with a sports car, for example.
•  SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY – Eris is exceptionally tougher than most, but her resilience has its limits. Still, she's highly resilient, being able to resist bullets (they don't penetrate, but still bruise), and take a beating from pretty strong opponents.
•  SUPERHUMAN SENSES – To match her heightened speed and strength, Eris also has heightened senses. She can perceive the world at a slower pace than typical humans, allowing her to notice things that might be going too fast for the average person to notice.

FLIGHT – Eris has learned how to use her chi to fly. Interestingly, this is a feat that usually requires a bare minimum of one year to master. She, however, taught herself the technique in a matter of days, and mastered it in just over a week. Her top speed isn't known, however. She implies that she can fly at at roughly twice her land speed.

PHYSICAL ATTACKS - Standard physical attacks.
•  3-POINT KICK – Eris leaps into the air and spins. Using her chi to stay airborne for an extended period of time, she launches powerful kicks to targeted points of the body, stunning the target by locking key joints and muscles.
•  WALK OF SHAME – Eris suspends herself in the air, performing a flutter-kick to the opponent’s stomach before doing a sudden back-flip kick to their chin while they’re hunched over, sending them careening into the air. Then, using her speed, she appears over them and kicks them straight back down to the Earth.
•  PAYDAY – Eris rushes in and delivers a single, powerful punch directly to her opponents abdomen, capable of dazing even some significantly tougher opponents.
•  DIAMOND DIVE – Eris rises into the air, then launches herself into a diagonal downward kick, meant for her opponent’s face. If it connects, it usually isn’t long before they’re a crumpled heap on the ground, buckling under the kick’s immense pressure.
•  GOLDRUSH – Eris charges her opponent, striking viciously, multiple times, at high speed in a series of punches and kicks that force the opponent back, ending with a final blow to knock them across the arena.

CHI ENHANCED ATTACKS - Physical attacks reinforced with Chi energy.
•  CARAT KICK – One of Eris’s named attacks, she channels a large amount of Chi into her foot and uses it to enhance a fearsome high-kick, generally straight to the opponent's jaw. She can charge the chi used in this attack to great levels, and even adds a number rating to the attack, based on how much chi was used to charge it, initially capping out at 100, though it’s implied that if she were better trained, she could achieve greater power in the attack. Even the lowest charge is enough to break an ordinary man's neck.

CHI ENERGY ATTACKS - Attacks utilizing raw Chi energy in the form of projectiles or other manipulations.
•  CHI BOLT – The most basic form of chi energy attack. Can be fired with virtually no effort and at no energy expense. As such, it can also be shot continuously. It isn’t especially powerful, however, and tends to be used almost exclusively as a disruptive technique.
•  CHI RING (yes, it’s pronounce “Key Ring”) – One of Eris’s stylized attacks, she first draws a ring of chi in mid air with her fingers, then throws it at her opponents. Provided it connects, the ring wraps around the opponent and proceeds to begin crushing them to deal considerable damage.
•  GLITZ GUN – One of Eris’s signature attacks, and one entirely of her own design, she fires one or a series of fast, narrow, low power, yellow Chi Blasts that channel all of the chi into the tip for piercing damage, over explosive force. She launches this attack from the tips of her index and middle fingers, pointed at the target.
•  GLAMOUR CANNON – The ultimate variant of the Glitz Gun, Eris channels a much greater amount of chi into her two fingertips, charging the attack. It can only be fired once at a time, as opposed to rapidly, but this variant can pierce even the most heavily armored opponent, and even the armor of relatively high class spacecraft.
•  BLUEBLOOD BOMB – Previously Eris’s most powerful attack, she charges a volatile sphere of chi in her hands and throws it. The ball then explodes on impact, with a blast whose power depends on the charge.

Personality: Eris is arrogant, petty, and snobbish. She looks down on others, presumably because of her status and role in society. Her pride and temper often lead to the revelation of her vengeful nature. Meanwhile, she possessed the mind and self defense ability to subdue anyone who challenged her, only inflating her sense of superiority further. She came to view herself as the best there was. Despite this, she holds a very cynical view of the world, and tends to be in a constant state of unrest. She’s very sarcastic, often bitingly so. If annoyed, she’ll often make snarky comments, even if not necessarily insulting anyone. She’s also rather blunt at times. She enjoys luxury, where she can get it, be that relaxing on a privately owned, family beach, fine dining, shopping, or designer clothing. Eris has always had a flair for the dramatic as well, which comes across in her habit of naming otherwise nameless attacks. She’s maintains a surprisingly strong distaste for dirty fighting, preferring things be fair, and cheating be penalized to the fullest extent. She's actually quite honorable when it comes to fighting, and will usually turn her back on a fight if it seems like it's engineered to give someone an advantage, or if her opponent is fighting against their will. Be this a matter of pride or simply disdain for foul play is uncertain. Perhaps most interestingly, however, is a streak of generosity. Eris has been known to help people on numerous occasions, even if usually doing so with a scowl, and often against what she claims is her better judgment.

In short, Eris is arrogant, acid-tongued, and incredibly blunt. But also highly insecure, and rather irritable. There may be an incredibly mild undercurrent of kindness, but it's buried so deep, you may stumble across a unicorn before you ever get to see it.

Background:
Eris's pattern of behavior, and general outlook spawned from her self-made nature. Everything Eris has managed to accomplish, she did on her own. She set out to train her mind and body, completely of her own accord. This was largely done in a bid to impress her increasingly neglectful parents. When that failed, she went on to tell herself her own worth, ultimately resulting in that vastly inflated ego. This explains her hidden streak of kindness, such as her donating to charities, which her parents can’t be bothered to. She figures people in need of these charities have been dealt an unfair hand, so she helps them out where she can, giving them the opportunity to improve things for themselves.

Eris has yet to give up on her parents, and decides to enter the UNRIVALED Tournament in a bid to show them that she really is the best, so she'll be worth their time. Upon deciding to do this, she determined that she couldn't do so at her present level. So she took up Chi Training, teaching herself everything she could in order to compete with the likes of Metas, Espers, and Aliens.

Powers & Abilities Cosmically Touched: Sigrd possesses trace amounts of the cosmic energy, which is the core from which her other abilities manifest from.
• Energy Absorption and Manipulation: The absorption of electromagnetic energy is the base of Sigrid’s life and power. She has a modicum of control of the four fundamental forces of the universe, allowing her to reach any effect she desires. As a result, she can absorb, manipulate, and discharge energy of the entire electromagnetic spectrum at incredible levels and with sufficient destructive force to level cities. Additional abilities include erecting force fields, phasing through solid matter, trans dimensional travel, casting illusions. She can heal living beings, even if they are near-death. She cannot, however, raise the dead.
• Matter Manipulation: Sigrid can rearrange matter to create other objects of importance by rearranging molecules. She can also change the state of matter, such as changing solids into gas.
Superhuman Physical Abilities:
• Superhuman Strength: Sigrid possesses superhuman strength. In general, she can normally lift around 20 tons, but can use her cosmic energy to augment this in a pinch.
• Cosmic Durability: Sigrid’s skin has an ethereal sheen and she is able to withstand the rigors of deep-space travel including extreme pressures and the friction associated with atmospheric re-entry, and can withstand exposure to stars and supernovas relatively unscathed. She compounds that by wearing a virtually indestructible cloak that grants her even greater protection. It looks like space with what looks like swirling galaxies inside.
• Cosmic Speed: Sigrid can run and move at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
• Cosmic Stamina: Sigrid’s highly enhanced musculature generates nearly no fatigue toxins, body stress, or even sweat, granting her near inexhaustible physical stamina, which allows her to fight other beings for prolonged periods of time before tiring.
• Cosmic Agility: Sigrid’s agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
• Cosmic Reflexes: Brunhilde's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.
• Cosmic Longevity: The cosmic energies in her body prevent her from aging and keep her at what would’ve been her biological prime were she still human.
• Cosmic Healing Factor: Despite her body's great resistance, Sigird can sustain physical injury by beings at or above her power level. If injured, her metabolism enables her to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue faster and more extensive than a human being is capable of. Injuries such as slashes and puncture wounds can heal completely within a matter of minutes and broken bones within a matter of days. She can even regenerate lost or severed limbs and organs.
• Flight Speed: Sigrid can travel at speeds faster than light. She can enter the Hyperspace when she exceeds the speed of light, Her mind and body can be used at these speeds as well, making her extremely reactive and agile.
• Cosmic Senses: Sigrid has certain cosmic-energy enhanced perceptions which enable her, through concentration, to become aware of the patterns of energy anywhere in the world. These abilities allow her far-ranging vision (in space she can see people clearly over a light year away), the ability to see sub-atomic particles, superhuman hearing, the ability to detect fields, traces, and concentrations of pure forms of energy and discern their natures.
• Cosmic Self-Sustenance: Sigrid does not need to eat or breathe since she absorbs life-maintaining cosmic energy directly through her skin.
• Teleportation/Warp travel - she can fold space time, connecting two points and allowing her to instantly appear there within certain distances. She can also extend this ability, allowing herself space travel over great distances.

Techniques
(Technique 1): Cosmic blasts – forms blasts of energy in the various spectrum of energy –or outright bolts of pure cosmic force
•  (Sub-Technique 1): Cosmic burst – forms a ball of energy that explodes
•  (Sub-Technique 2): Attractive burst – creates a sphere of energy with attractive force (magnetic, electromagnetic, electric, etc.), attracting nearby objects. She can then explode said sphere, creating a devastating attack of shrapnel.
•  (Sub-Technique 3): Matter manipulation – can change an object on the fly into something else. For example, a person attacking her with a melee weapon she might turn their weapon into a pillow.

Background: Sigrid was a fairly down to earth girl. Athletic, smart, she did well in school and was generally liked. Her mother was a mathematician and her father a physicist. She lived a normal life up until her 13th year.

Her father's work caught the eye of Torellio Bartuce, a billionaire obsessed with power and prestige. In one of his papers, her father had mentioned the possibility of harnessing into limitless energy citing Tesla's beliefs. This energy, he theorized, could power the entire world forever. Free energy. But the same formulas he'd used to calculate tapping into this energy also got popular ideas citing it could potentially alter physical matter. As one budding scientist put it, "Ye be gods."

To Bartuce's utter frustration, Fuchs refused to work for him. Not a man to be denied, he hired armed men to take Fuchs and his family, holding the latter hostage. Overworked, tired, and desperate, Fuchs worked day and night to develop what the man wanted: a device to tap into the fabric of the universe. Though warned, Bartuce's avarice got the better of him and he threw on the device before any true testing could be done. The device opened a wormhole to what looked like the Aurora Borealis shaped into a celestial gate. He activated the siphon to tap into the energy, but the smallest trickle was nth levels higher than anything they could've imagined. There was a massive explosion and Sigrid felt energy course threw her as she was blown away into what she presumed to be nothing. Such was not the case.

When she awoke, she was drifting aimlessly through the reaches of space. A patrol ship in the area found her and brought her in, amazed she wasn't frozen and/or asphyxiated. She was studied by the doctor, but he couldn't find any explanation as to her miraculous survival, other than a trace amount of energy that he couldn't identify as it defied his means to examine it.

Taken to the M'hel homeworld, the scientists there had better luck, finding her body had been infused with pure cosmic energy. A small amount, but enough to grant her amazing abilities. With her permission, they studied and tried to help her figure out her powers, until the N'Cromm came and wiped out the M'hel. The last thing she saw was her friend N'ah'oney blasting her with a teleportation ray that launched her light years away.

She has since traveled throughout the galaxy, wandering aimlessly and keeping an eye open for any sign of what happened to the M'hel.

Along her travels, she met a woman named Piper Dugan and it had looked like a friendship was forming. But then they crossed paths with a group of powerful aliens and in the ensuing chaos, a great explosion occurred. When the dust settled, her friend was nowhere to be found...
