City: Dedonia Empty City: Dedonia

City: Dedonia 2vj5pnc

City Name: Dedonia (Duh - done - ee - uh)
Country/Territory: The Free People of Genevsa
Government Style: Merchant & Business Styled
Population: 3,821 Registered Residents; 4,000-5,000 Non Permanent Residents
Tech Level: Advanced -- Little reliance on Ether Technology (Doesn't accept Force User Immigration or Tourists)
Trade: Oil, Shipping, Vacation/Tourism Locations, Underwater Mining, Oil Refinement

Many shops and stalls dot the many streets of Dedonia, starting near the dockside and steadily progressing to eye-catching tourists attractions.  Many of the streets and main through-fares cater to the main economic business of Dedonia, which is tourism.  If one walks off the beaten path, they will find themselves surrounded by tall buildings that house most residents and every day businesses and companies that help to support the rest of Dedonia's economy base.

When one does walk into more remote sections and even into the denser populated areas, one can find many parks and fairgrounds.  It is uncommon to travel more than three or four streets without encountering one.  The largest and  most profitable form of tourism is the attraction of water sports--rather than air sports, as is dominant in other countries.  Many of the smaller rivers have ferries and walkways from one area to another and it is recommended by the board of tourism to use these ferries to see the many sites and for speedy travel around Dedonia.  Land vehicles within Dedonia are few and far between, as are horses, near the dock areas and a surprising depth within the city itself.  Most businesses are set up near water-side so that they can load and unload boats and save on shipping costs for freight.

There are various amounts of different water sports and games, but there are a few land-based sports as well.  However, due to one of the main traveling necessities being airships, airship races are not allowed within Genevsa territory.  If this is discovered in this area, the offending racers will be jailed and fined, and possibly stripped of their airship(s).  In fact, most of the air space over the city of Dedonia is a no-fly zone and all air ships that wish to enter the territory must have prior, scheduled permissions and clearance.  Only airships with a CODE2R emergency call may have an exception to this rule.

The primary religion here is Puritianism and only Force Users that are born within its borders are allowed to live or remain.  The Puritan Church plays heavily in lobbying movements of the government and their foreign policy.  All Force User tourism and travel is heavily watched, as well as scrutinized and Dedonia is one of the cities that have the highest Force User security in existence.  Please note that all technology in this city is NOT ETHER TECHNOLOGY.  As such, the city is considered by most to be old fashioned, but the place runs efficiently as any other City with Ether technology.

Further out from Dedonia are many of its refineries, fishing lanes, and reefs.  Each of these have limited access to Dedonia born employees that are skilled in the necessary trades.  There is a very large border patrol and it is very common for unidentified ships to be stopped for clearance checks and paperwork verification.  Tourists are reminded not to travel in areas on their own and to utilize the many tours and site-seeing guides and guidelines in order to enjoy their stay more.

There are two forms of travel from entering and exiting the city other than Airships.  The first is sea ships, which is the slowest form of travel and it can take up to two days for a one-way trip from the City to another Country's border or vice versa.  The second form of travel is an under-water tunnel that goes from underneath the city of Dedonia to land near Watera Town in the L'Avaielle Empire.  The tunnel supports a train, which can also carry horses and other normal cargo--but cargo trains are separated from passenger trains.  Security here is strict, just as all Sea Ships are searched and secured before full docking.

Just as dawn was breaking Convina had already been up an hour and was just staring out of the window with a cup of coffee in her hand. She was all packed up and ready to go. Yet she wasn't sure if SHE was ready to go. Everything had prepared her for this, She'd convinced her self a number of times. She needed to go. She just had to say goodbye to her parents.

Finishing her coffee she washed it up and headed to go get showered and dressed. She'd picked out comfy Clothes considering she was going to be travelling for a while. But because she was riding her bike she needed her Jacket as well so she just put on a plain t-shirt underneath and tied her hair back.

Making sure her rucksack was packed with plenty of pads and pencils and her wallet she grabbed her bottle and headed down stairs with her bags by the front door. While she was filling her bottle her father came in behind her. "I Really wish you wouldn't go, You can stay, you don't have to work, you know we'll support you. Your mother is worrying sick and you haven't even left yet."

She turned around leaning against the sink while she tightened up the bottle lid shaking her head at her father. "I have to go. I Need to. Please respect my wishes. I'll be back for the holidays. Promise." She smiled going to to him to hug him.

After another hour of calming her mother down and saying goodbye to her parents she pulled on her rucksack grabbed her keys to her motorbike and headed down to the street below. This was the start of her adventure.

[ATTN:  Covina]

"Alright, Ms. Maresca,"  The man says behind the booth, "I'm almost finished with your travels paperwork and the security protocols have all been completed--all I need now is to know if you'll be leaving by ship or by the tunnel.  After that, we can have you on your way."

He's wearing all black, the uniform clearly uncomfortable, yet highly protective.  The glass around the booth isn't glass, however--it is full force glass, a nice force field that resists gunshots and other attacks much more effectively.  In theory, the booth has been attacked before, because the force field glitches out on occasion, suggesting damage of some kind.  The man seems uneasy during each moment that the field phases out, his speech somewhat hurried during their conversation as it occurs.

"Additionally, is there anything else I can do for you? I know we need to transport your bike, too, which is registered in your name already--good, good..." The man keeps rambling for a bit, clearly nervous as the field phases out again. Hopefully, the thing will be fixed soon?

Covina watched him pitter patter about nervously. The Force field flickering every now and then. Which of course made her nervous. Besides she just wanted to get on with it and get out of Dedonia. She made sure she had everything. "I'll be travelling by tunnel." She smiled to him. "How much will that be ?" She asked pulling out her wallet. She had plenty of credits and she'd start earning some as soon as she got on the tunnel when she started writing.

"Is there any extra tax for my bike ?" She asked the man watching as his eyes flickered over her shoulder, making her eyes follow. The queue wasn't long only one or two others behind her, but both were male and big guys. Great. Turning back to the man she took a breath and smiled brightly at him.

[ATTN: Covina]

The man takes credit card as she offers it while telling her what she is being charged. "The train ticket plus the bike charge is 750 credits total. You will have to pick up your bike from the cargo train when it arrives on the other side--just present your receipt and you won't have any problems."

He slides the credit card through the reader waits as it processes. Then, a thin, translucent laminate ticket slides out and he hands it back to her through the slot along with her credit card. "Hold one moment, please."

The receipt slides out finally and he passes this through the slot, as well. He looks back behind her and notices this huge dude pointing at her ass with a huge grin. He scowls, but his attention moves back to Ms. Maresca. "Ms. Maresca, would you like an escort to the train--if so, you can find them just over there. You have a nice trip!!"

With that, he points her on her way and then waits for the douchebag to come up to the window. He's still nervous as the field flickers out of visual, but he still hopes to stall this creep for as long as he can until the woman disappears. Talk about a pervert...."Can I help you, Sir?"

Covina frowned at his question of escorts while sliding her receipt and card back into her wallet, looking over her shoulder she rolled her eyes at his leering looks before smiling back at the man behind the booth. "I'll be fine, but thank you, have yourself a nice day." She said walking off, purposely swinging her ass, daring the guys behind her to make a move. She would have them on the floor in no time, thanks to knowing some defense. Something her father had insisted if she was to leave.

Making her way to the train waiting on the tunnel she climbed aboard and settled herself into a seat pulling out a pad and pen to start scribbling ideas while she waited for her journey to begin.

This role-play is now closed due to the following reasons:

1. MethosArchaic no longer has time to assist as RPM.
2. Several members have voiced an opinion of keeping it private within a smaller group, defeating the purpose of this RP.
3. Inactivity; inability to get a response from inactive members.
4. Christmas Holidays require the use of the RPG stylesheet, which is currently being used by this role-play.
5. Several inactive members have implied or stated that they will not return in the near future.

This role-play may come back as a smaller role-play. No further massive role-plays will be run by Leah7 on this forum ever again. There is not enough people that are willing to work together outside of their normal, small cliques to make this kind of role-play work--especially for one of this scale. As such, never expect to see this style of role-play again, but you may see this setting again, if you are invited.
