The Umbrella Colony

First topic message reminder :
Commander Mytrell, the Umbrella's head lead and a dark-skinned Turian with red markings on his face, is staring out at the planet before them, hands behind his back as he watches the terraforming process continue. His eyes watch with an intensity over the pilot's head, whom many know as Jacquelyn. She's quite well skilled and also bored--and who wouldn't be? Still, everything is so quite here on the Command deck compared to elsewhere, as each member of Umbrella becomes more and more excited as the time passed. They will be on land soon--instead of on this ship, where they have resided their whole life. Of course, that will be after the scout parties, terraform analysis, and other such processes...Mytrell hopes his crew has patience on this morning.
Silla finds her way by his side, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. He's not surprised by it, anymore, for sure, but it can be quite alarming to those that aren't used to her presence. She is an agile Asari, both timid and agile, quiet and mysterious. She smiles at him with greeting and speaks softly. "Your orders, Commander?"
"Send the saints to the three moons of this planet. I'll have them searched for anything useful and scouted--can't be too sure what we are living near around here. We barely have information on the solar system." Mytrell replies.
"Understood, Commander." Silla says, "Anything else?"
"I want some scout teams prepared, along with some scientists to be readied for the first ground team within the next eighteen hours. I want the top scientists out there--we need information on this planet as soon as possible--oh...and I'd like some Dragari tea, please. Turian style."
"Of course, Commander. I shall return shortly." Silla nods her head with closure and a quick salute before leaving the Command deck...life aboard the Umbrella is about to get busy, especially for her...so many commands and plans she'll have to help issue. So many things to organize.

While Lucius follows Kardes inside, his eyes dash around, closely examining the ships interior and the crew.
Lucius checks his Omni Tool, and walks over to a corner, studying it closely. If noticed, he seems to be flipping through files, pictures, and information, reading it quickly.

- Thoughts inside his head:
- Only a few guards it seems, though most of the military is headed towards the planet. Odd. If we are the mining crew, we could also be the agriculture, the builders, the citizens. Why keep us away? And why towards the moon? Sure, I could understand what they told us, "Gather all the materials at the moon first, then we move to the planet." But someting sounds fishy about that. Plus, The military should be right in front of us, not in a different area all together.
Protect the people, we don't know what is out there, have those who are armed and trained scout out ahead. Sending a few guards to look after hundreds of people is too thin. I hardly think any of them are trained in what I was trained in.
Look at them, dancers, miners, technicians, scientists. All with family, friends, and loved ones. If we get raided, if something goes wrong, all of this falls on my head. I joined the SS to make a difference. I just hope this mission was thought through, thoroughly.

He had taken the time to review the files for the personnel involved. He knew some of them--mostly by reputation--and two of them were noted for authority issues. He'd see how that played out; he preferred to give people the benefit of the doubt as opposed to automatically assuming the worst.
Karde, Vilithine, Sari, Braveheart, and Lordene aside, the ship was joined by three soldiers from the military. It made sense to him. While Ishmael was military trained, he was here primarily for scientific work. The soldiers would be strictly for protection should they actually require it. As most moons were generally peaceful, Ishmael had his doubts they'd need it.
He had Lordene take them out of the station and plot a trajectory for the moon. They had a limited window for the most efficient landing as they had a schedule for an intercept course.
Three other ships were also heading out containing Salvage Saints as the work was being divided amongst the four groups, including his. On top of that, four ships of military personnel would be following maintaining a geoscynchronous orbit above the specific group they were tailing--the cavalry if things really got rough. He sincerely hoped it wouldn't.
The trip wasn't too long, and he spent it in silence, reviewing the mission parameters and going over it with his second, Karde, at one point. Other than that, he had little to say--he wasn't one for small talk or personal affairs.

Craisa ran into the ship, to the cockpit, and jumped into the nearest empty seat. She noticed Allehina, there, and shouted a hello. This was going to be the greatest mission yet.
"Good afternoon," he said, addressing them all. "I am Ishmael Nober and I shall be heading this mission. All goes well, it should be just a routine survey mission and resources reclamation. I see no reason everything shouldn't go well, and I look forward to working with you all. Thank you."
As the message closed Craisa pouted, "Leave it to Ishmael to make a mission like this sound ordinary," she thought. She knew it would be just the opposite, or she hoped so, at least. Craisa turned her attention to the window and her mouth dropped in amazement. The planet was very close, it was so mysterious, so new. She could hardly wait. She knew she'd never be able to capture this feeling in a drawing but that wouldn't stop her from trying. It's color was almost visible, too, and it'd probably be clearer from it's moons. She looked for it in the distance but couldn't find it.

Kydoimos continued to stare out the at the stars and planets both near and distant. The planet before him appeared different to him than to humans, as he could see into both ultraviolet and infrared spectrums. It would be indescribable to those incapable of witnessing it themselves, but the planet though certainly the most dominating observable mass wasn't as appealing as the more distant stars.
EDI correctly pinged his wireless security systems and notified him that the data was ready. She didn't apparently seem in the mood to converse. Kydoimos figured it had to do with helping manage all the increased activity across the colony now that they had reached the destination.

His systems continued to update. They did not completely delete the original information but rather carefully compiled all the data and then updated only the relevant bits. It was mainly a fail-safe to protect against data loss, though the redundancies were deleted.
Though there was nothing planned for him till his departure to the planet, Kydoimos began to seek something to fill his time. Sure he could continue to stand here, disregard the movement of Organics traveling through his sensors, and continue observing the view... but the planet was beginning to dominate the observable distance of the atrium window.
Turning around, Kydoimos' head swiveled around observing several organics and identifying them. With no one immediately warranting interaction Kydoimos began his departure from the Atrium.
Kydoimos opened up his files and pulled up the 3D map and schematic of the colony. Then he began to layout all his possible transit routes back to his auxiliary storage locker. The most efficient way was to return to the service tram. However given his very limited time constraints, Kydoimos altered his navigational plans.
Activating the controls for the Service Tram, the doors opened and he departed back towards Residential. After that he would have plenty of time to commence with other activities. As the tram progressed at it's normal operational speed, the files of the nearby star-map was pulled up and Kydoimos began studying them. Even though he retained the information in his databases, he went about actually going through it. It was an oddity that AI's actually went about learning it, and creating unique shortcuts for their own memory recollection.

He is the forth to actually board the ship, after Alehina and her 2 military escorts. He walks over to Alehina and puts his hand on her shoulder. From such close proximity, he hears the music blaring through her helmet.
(I assume she either lowers the volume or removes her helmet)
"Hi, I'm Theloneous Graveheart, but you may call me Thel." He gingerly grabs her hand as if to shake it and starts lifting it. "It's an honor to meet you miss Alehina Lorden. Your singing and dancing are without compare." He gently presses his lips to the back of her hand. "and with me here as your ship engineer, your piloting will be the same." He gently lowers her hand back down.
[ATTN: Mission Crew]
After everyone else has boarded.
Thel looks them all over and thinks to himself. "Ishmael seems competent." His eyes shift to a young spirited Asari. "Craisa can be fun, but other than that I don't see why she's even here. If the going gets tough, she'll only hinder us."
Then, Kardes and Lucius board. Thel all but stands up and objects. "These two oafs! They barreled down the corridor with no respect for anyone in the way. Sent a poor young woman careening to the floor and knocked over a dumpster in their little race."
He turns and focuses on telemetry information gathered on the moon. Using Umbrella's sensor network he ascertains that a landing area close to high density rocks would yield the highest payoff. He forwards the information to Ishmael's HUD.
He then forwards the ideal flight plan, to the moon, to Alehina, in order to shave off a bit of time and increase the odds of getting the highest yield.
As the ship leaves the hangar. He loses the use of Umbrella's long range sensors and therefore has to depend on the ones within the ship. He focuses more on locating the same high density area he found before and helps guide Alehina to it.
He stands up rechecking is gear, he starts by putting on his helmet. It's not the generic engineer helmet, it's packed with sensing equipment which gives it a distinctive lupine look.
His engineer suit is also heavily modified and painted silver and dark grey. It has shoulder mounted lights connected to an infrared sensor is his helmet, so wherever he looks the light move to point in that direction.
He has his requisitioned pistol for the mission, which he holsters to his upper thigh. A much larger empty holster lies on his back. "I guess they though an assault rifle would be too much for an engineer on a simple scouting run. Maybe I'll get one if they send me to the planet."
He sits there waiting, for the ship to land, and to take his first steps on the moon.

The lumbering Krogan had to hunch himself slightly not to hit his head on the way in of the ship, thankfully it was only the doors that were like so. Hallways we're alright, he could resume his normal height on them. Time was short however and the mission was delayed enough he had to rush himself to the bridge and report once he heard Ishmael on the intercom.
"Ganar Karde, heavy machinery specialist reporting for duty." He introduced himself noticing a few folk he recognized.

He looked over his superior, an upstart by the looks of it. No judgement yet, he'd cast the dice only when he knew what this man was about. "I'm hoping you know what we'll be doing?" Karde asked in his gruffly voice, removing his helmet in the process holding it under his arm, the natural unimpressed expression hanging on his face something that often made rookies panic. "We've got two rigs in the bay ready for service. I'll be handling one of them."

Alehina had calmed down the dancing and had started to get more things ready, but she was still shaking her head. Music was playing through the entire bridge, but also within her helmet. It's then that another man get to the bridge. Both of the millitary officer turns and they were both Krogan. They watched the man carefully from the moment he entered to the moment he reached Alehina.
Alehina feel a hand on her shoulder and turns to see who it was and she seemed surprised to see it wasn't Ishmael or someone else. She lower the music from her helmet enough to hear him well and also lower a bit the music from the bridge, but it was still pretty loud. ''Yes ?'' Seeing that he had full attention of the woman, the man takes her hand and he introduce himself, taking her hand gently and kissing it. With a little blush she answer ''My, what a gentleman.''
''Umph, you shouldn't try to get to close little man. '' The first Krogan named Garm said.
The second one named Dreen added ''You might end up hurt....'' as he got up.
Alehina sighs. ''Honestly you two should take him as an example and chill. He's fine. ''
Both krogans calmed down at the command even though it was obvious they didn't like that man.
''Good... Sor- '' As Alehina was about to appologize, someone else she didn't want to see came in. She glared at the Asari and then ignored her smiling back toward the man. ''I meant sorry about those two. It's a pleasure to be working with you as well... though your name tells me something as well... Mmm...'' Somehow it felt so familliar, but she wasn't able to place her finger on it.
**(Assuming she would have seen your name in one of her magazine series or a book even about new engines and stuff.)**
The Turian she saw earlier also arrive at the bridge and he sit down casually in the seat he would have to take. Kargiel looked toward Alehina and said. ''Everyone is amolt here.''
''That's good. '' She said with a smile.
''What's up with the music ? '' Kargiel asked pointing the speakers.
''It's music that I decided to put on to set in a better mood. '' Alehina replied to the Turian.

Before Kargiel could reply about the music being loud, Ishmael got to the bridge and lowered it making his message of introduction. Alehina stops the music and pouts. ''So boring.... Why are they all whining about the music anyways ?...'' She thought with annoyance.
It's then that Lucius and Karde came to the bridge shortly after.
''I guess that makes everyone.'' She said adding ''Well last call everyone on their seat, we're gonna leave soon.''
As everyone seemed finally ready, Ishmael gave the command to Alehina to get to the launching station to plan out the trajectory to the moon. Thel was helping her with the planning of the route while Karde and Ishmael were discussing the matter of the mission. As preparations were finally ready, they advise the station of their leave and go away from it, the trip to the moon had finally started. ''This beauty still is smooth as ever. Aren't you happy to see me ?'' It seemed the woman was talking to herself, but in fact she was talking to the ship.
The planet came into view and was without words of beauty. The view was much better then at the observatory. Sadly she couldn't really take a picture while piloting. It's then that she turned to Thel who had been helping her with the trajectory toward one of the best spot. She just hoped they would be able to get it considering they were late... they probably would not. ''Thel, could I ask you a big favor pleaase ? .... Could you please take my celphone in my backpocket of the suit and take a picture of the planet with it ?....''

As everyone seemed finally ready, Ishmael gave the command to Alehina to get to the launching station to plan out the trajectory to the moon. Thel was helping her with the planning of the route while Karde and Ishmael were discussing the matter of the mission. As preparations were finally ready, they advise the station of their leave and go away from it, the trip to the moon had finally started. ''This beauty still is smooth as ever. Aren't you happy to see me ?'' It seemed the woman was talking to herself, but in fact she was talking to the ship.
The planet came into view and was without words of beauty. The view was much better then at the observatory. Sadly she couldn't really take a picture while piloting. It's then that she turned to Thel who had been helping her with the trajectory toward one of the best spot. She just hoped they would be able to get it considering they were late... they probably would not. ''Thel, could I ask you a big favor pleaase ? .... Could you please take my celphone in my backpocket of the suit and take a picture of the planet with it ?....''

Lucius finishes reviewing the dossiers of the crew members. A small sense of ease comes over him, though he is still unimpressed.
He walks over to one of the seats near Thel and sits. His helmet still folded back as he sits, it shifts forward and locks into place. He takes his assault rifle and that shifts and expands out, he examines it, using scanners he finds a small flaw in the thermal ejection unit.
Quietly he murmurs to himself, "Hmm maybe if I direct more power.."
Using his omni-tool he tweaks the rifle, though in the exterior, looks like nothing is being changed other than the lights near the bolt of the gun shines a bit more blue now, other than white.
He starts by checking the thermal drive fail-safe, the exhaust ports and flaps, and the sensory equipment.
"Check"
He sets the rifle on the back side of his armor and it folds into itself, compacting as all weapons do. Then, grabbing his pistol, he checks the sights, his thermal clips, bolt, the grip. Everything checks out.
When he finishes, he notices a vast majority of the crew is only armed with pistols. At least they are heavy pistols. Any other mission he would be fine, but this makes him uneasy.

With a smile, he reaches into her back pocket, extracts the cellphone with expert ease, and examines it within his hands. "This won't take a sufficiently beautiful picture. Here, allow me." He goes over to his terminal in the ship and uses the ships cameras to capture a super high resolution picture. He then open Alehina's phone, and navigates to the phone status, he copies the number into the terminal, memorizing it in case he wants to contact the super star later and transfers the photo to it.
He creates a contact for himself in her phone with his number, the contact name is simply, Call Me.

The man seemed okay. The normal gruff neutral he was accustomed to in his military days. "Let's hope so," he replied to the man's statement. He'd done this numerous times, but that was no reason to get complacent. Of course, this was his first time doing so in a supervisory capacity.
"I assumed it would be so," he said in response to the krogan's statement about operating the rigs. He was interested in learning operations himself and had set about putting in the hours for a license, but he still had plenty more to put in before he got it. "Vilithine will be the other, of course."

Time sure had a way of changing things. Jazz took a stroll through the station after that whole episode with the crowd. She attended to her duties, as requested to her. She spoke to the various Guild Heads. She was surprised to learn some of the developments of the past years. There were plenty of new guilds, guild locations, and sub guilds. The layout had changed, not that she had seen much of the place before. The Krogan population had increased and the Salarians had decreased. She almost felt guilty for feeling a little happy over that last part. Maybe it was because she was mentored by a Krogan.
Of course, there were some things that never changed. There was still in-fighting with certain guilds. It didn't shock her at all that the Salvage Slayers were somehow sticking around. But, then again, she did tend to expect the worst. This...totally expected. She'd heard some bad things about them too. Then came something completely unexpected.

Saria, the Medical Bay VI, activates from her terminal. The familiar, holographic avatar shines emotionless into the room as it speaks with a deep, masculine voice.
"Doctor Sonali, you have an unscheduled appointment request starting in thirty minutes. Would you like to view it?"
Sonali was ready to relax and get out of here. The only reason why she is still here is because of her extended break. "Affirmative, please show the request."
The avatar holds out its hand, a small screen appearing to reveal a request for an "Specialist Interview" by none other than Meeda Enteris, the Science Guild Leader in her office, scheduled to behin within 30GS minutes.
Sonali confirms the appointment in her calendar to alert the others she will be busy. She will need to find the file for Meeda Enteris. She likes to be at least some what prepared. She checks on a patient quickly before going to her office.
Meeda hums a sweet, cheerful tune as she holds a small, compact mini-computer device in her hand. She walks up to Sonali's office and the door opens automatically when she moves up towards is, demonstrating that the doctor hasn't locked it and made it clear that she is not yet busy.
Sonali hears her door slide open and looks up from her computer. Her first impression is that her patient is not the typical Salarian. "Hello Ms. Enteris, please have a seat." Sonali motions to the chair across from her neat desk. "May I ask the purpose of your appointment today?"
"But of course!" Meeda says with a smile, speaking remarkably slow for a Salarian, seating herself before Sonali. "As I am sure you are aware, I am a the Science Guild Leader and I do get to speak with the Umbrella Council about policies and other sub-laws that are being proposed by the people.
However, as I present my opinions on said policies, I am allowed to provide the feedback, through interviews, of any Colony members involved. As you are one of our longest lasting surgeons, you will be deeply affected by a particular new law, should it be passed.
Unfortunately, I am unable to give you the details of what this policy states, as it is still being considered and is confidential, but I am allowed to ask you questions in an interview format that have high relevance to the policy's purpose. Would you be willing to partake in this interview with me and be recorded answering my questions?"
Sonali is surprised by the demeanor of such a high ranking Salarian. In a way it is refreshing. Sonali nods. "You have peaked my interest. I am curious as to how this new law will affect me. I will partake in the interview. I don't expect any interruptions, however if anything arises I may have to end the interview."
"Woo!" Meeda spins her left index finger in the air in small triumph as her head tilts to the side with a gleeful expression. "Thank you so much! I shall set up my recorder here and then we can begin! I'll make sure to edit out anything you are uncomfortable with!"
Meeda takes a few minutes to set up the device, setting it up so that a blue screen pops up into the air, which copies over Sonali's face with a recording symbol in the corner.
"Doctor Sonali. May I ask your profession, as well as the time spent in this profession, for the Council's acknowledgement?" Meeda begins sweetly.
"I appreciate you assessment in my skills Ms. Enteris." Sonali sits up straight and takes a deep breath. "I am doctor Sonali and I am a general emergency surgeon for about 50GS years now. I do have a microscopic enhancement which enables me to do more detailed surgeries." She hope that is enough for Ms. Enteris. She has never been interviewed by the council before.
"Thank you, Doctor Sonali." Meeda says with an adorable appreciation, "In all of your education and experience, what different species anatomy training do you have and what species do you operate on? Are there species that you currently are not certified to be your patients?"
"As an emergency general surgeon I am certified on all currently known species. However I don't have a specialty. If specialty surgery is needed I prep the patient as best as possible to transport to the specialist." It is obvious by the slight smile on Sonali's face that she loves her job.
"Do you feel most familiar working on any particular species, such as your own?" Meeda asks after a slight pause.
Sonali nods. "Honestly if you ask most doctors they feel more comfortable operating on their own race. So yes I feel most familiar with Asari and Human since our anatomies are similar. However sometimes there is a certain appeal to the challenge of the other species at well."
"As an Asari, how do you feel about the competence of other doctors who have much less time to practice in their fields as you have?" Meeda asks next.
"The length of time does not determine a doctors competence. Sure I have been in practice longer that most, but I am just a general surgeon. Meaning there are other doctors that have more experience in their specialities." Sonali answers. She wonders where this interview is leading. "Is there any documentation you need regarding my experience? I will provide you with any you need."
"No, no--I've got your files available at any time." Meeda says cheerfuly, "But thank you kindly for your gracious offer. Do you feel that, due to your longevity as an Asari, you are more likely to amass experience that outstrips those of shorter-lived species, such as the Drell or Salarians?"
Sonali raises her eyebrow. "I am not sure where you are going with this line of questioning. If you are trying to get me to say that I am a better doctor just because of my species, you are mistaken. Sure the lifespan of my career is longer than some, but that does not make me a better doctor. Sure in the future I may decide to specialize in a different field, but the training is the same no matter what species I am. Even if I don't specialize in a particular field, my length of service does not mean I know everything about emergency medicine."
""Aaaaand give the good doctor two points for figuring out the gist of the policy!" Meeda says playfully as a human talkshow host would speak. "Thank you very much for your help, Doctor Sonali. I am so glad that you agree with my view on the policy that is trying to be passed."
At this, Meeda is already closing her recording device and removing it from Sonali's desk, out of the way and back into her arms safely clasped before her in her lap. "I truly appreciate the time you gave to give you feedback on this matter."
Sonali is caught a bit off guard by Meeda's response. She blinks quickly. "Oh well, thank you very much for asking my opinion. Is there anything else you need today Ms. Enteris?"
"Yes, Doctor Sonali!" Meeda says with a wink, "Hee hee! Have you considered a career in modeling? You can do that part-time, you know." A slight pause..."You get the lastest fashionable clothing!"
Sonali laughs quietly. "Thank you for the compliment. I will keep that in mind if this doctor thing doesn't work out. Until then I am afraid the fashionable clothing will be wasted under this white coat and scrubs."
"Well, if you ever change your mind..." Meeda says as she holds out her card, "You'd be surprised how many would have a fetish for an Asari in a white coat and scrubs..."

Lucius overhears his name being spoken, he turns his head towards the two speaking but stays seated.
Karde continued to talk to Ishmael. "If everything goes well it'll be quick, me and Lucius will use the drills on the rigs to bore enough samples." He let out a grunt with a confident sneer. "Easy enough and you don't need to be so formal when the boss isn't around." He told him.
Lucius stands up "Kardes, I need to speak with you. Now, uh, sir."
The old miner turned his gaze to the turian, he quirked his brow finding it odd to be referred by an honorrific. "You need to talk outside the bridge?"
Lucius nods, standing there awaiting, his helmet retracts backwards, showing his face.
"Alright" Said Karde who motionned his mate to follow as he left the bridge room waiting for his partner with arms crossed.
Turns and heads over to his friend, also crossing his arms. "I understand we are miners but i'm one of the few who is armed well enough to defend the group, I can't be stuck in a mech."
"It's a moon Lucius." He responded quietly and calmly.
"You remember the beasts we encountered in our salvage runs of asteroids, we are steping into the unknown and this time a lot more lives are at stake."
"And you remember what I did with my drill when that thresher maw came up...Granted it was small."
Lucius chuckles "You just about ripped its talons off with your bare hands."
Karde nodded with a grin of his own. "Exactly. They'll know who're the real scary ones If things get hairy we have those two along with two big mech's." His expression returned to a sort of neutrality, his sharky grin had disapeared into his mouth. "Worse comes to it you've a vantage point to fire your toy from."
Lucius nods and smiles, though still appears stiff. "You know friend, it isn't the wildlife that bothers me, it is the other groups. Tensions have been rising, with most of the military on the planets surface, the others may try something. You can't tell me, pirate attacks and people going missing hasn't caught your attention."
Kardes turned to face the door and was about to head through it, he stopped mid way and grunted, he stood there silently reliving some moments he'd rather forget. he shook his head and grunted again his eyes shut.
Lucius steps forward and sets his hand on Karde's shoulder plate. "I'm with you till the end, you're the brother I never had, you have me on your flank always. If you want me in a mech down there with you, i'd be honored."
That tap was all he needed to snap back to reality. He turned his head to give the lad a glance, He answered with a nodd and moved his shoulder to nudge his hand away. "Do what you think would be best for everyone's safety. I'm sure we can find a volunteer." He answered gruffly.
Lucius chuckles, "Well I much rather have a mech armed Krogan at my side than some scientist and singer to be honest my friend." He grins, and punches Kardes in the arm.
Karde growled as the door slid open. "You'll pay for that you son of a bitch." He meant it in friendly terms...truly!
Lucius just smirks, knowing Kardes intention. "Well I geuss we should wait until we begin our approach on the bridge, there more than likely will be a breifing."
Karde nodded and started his way back to the bridge to rejoin the rest. At the same time he was fighting away second thoughts that had resurfaced just now.
Lucius follows and stands next to Kardes, now completely ready for what is next.
The two re-entered the bridge hoping not to get awkward glances.

Turns and heads over to his friend, also crossing his arms. "I understand we are miners but i'm one of the few who is armed well enough to defend the group, I can't be stuck in a mech."
"It's a moon Lucius." He responded quietly and calmly.
"You remember the beasts we encountered in our salvage runs of asteroids, we are steping into the unknown and this time a lot more lives are at stake."
"And you remember what I did with my drill when that thresher maw came up...Granted it was small."
Lucius chuckles "You just about ripped its talons off with your bare hands."
Karde nodded with a grin of his own. "Exactly. They'll know who're the real scary ones If things get hairy we have those two along with two big mech's." His expression returned to a sort of neutrality, his sharky grin had disapeared into his mouth. "Worse comes to it you've a vantage point to fire your toy from."
Lucius nods and smiles, though still appears stiff. "You know friend, it isn't the wildlife that bothers me, it is the other groups. Tensions have been rising, with most of the military on the planets surface, the others may try something. You can't tell me, pirate attacks and people going missing hasn't caught your attention."
Kardes turned to face the door and was about to head through it, he stopped mid way and grunted, he stood there silently reliving some moments he'd rather forget. he shook his head and grunted again his eyes shut.
Lucius steps forward and sets his hand on Karde's shoulder plate. "I'm with you till the end, you're the brother I never had, you have me on your flank always. If you want me in a mech down there with you, i'd be honored."
That tap was all he needed to snap back to reality. He turned his head to give the lad a glance, He answered with a nodd and moved his shoulder to nudge his hand away. "Do what you think would be best for everyone's safety. I'm sure we can find a volunteer." He answered gruffly.
Lucius chuckles, "Well I much rather have a mech armed Krogan at my side than some scientist and singer to be honest my friend." He grins, and punches Kardes in the arm.
Karde growled as the door slid open. "You'll pay for that you son of a bitch." He meant it in friendly terms...truly!
Lucius just smirks, knowing Kardes intention. "Well I geuss we should wait until we begin our approach on the bridge, there more than likely will be a breifing."
Karde nodded and started his way back to the bridge to rejoin the rest. At the same time he was fighting away second thoughts that had resurfaced just now.
Lucius follows and stands next to Kardes, now completely ready for what is next.
The two re-entered the bridge hoping not to get awkward glances.

Alehina smiles and say ''Thank you ! '' To Thel when he's done taking the picture and she add to that ''I'll check it as soon as I can. '' After a bit more time of flight, the moon finally came into view right as Karde and Lucius came back to the bridge. Alehina wondered why they had went away in the first place as she didn't quite listen to everything while focusing on piloting.
''We're getting close to the moon, however.... Seems someone took our spot.'' She mentioned as it came into views of the trajectory radar. ''Where to ?'' She asked not being sure where they wanted to go on the moon now.

Ishmael shook his head. "I come from a traditional military family, Karde," Ishmael answered respectfully. "The formality is breathing for me." He nodded when Vilithine asked to speak with Karde.
Ishmael shook his head as a message came up on his omni-tool and he opened it to get a message confirming what Alehina said. "This is unfortunate," he said. "I'm getting new coordinates from command, now. I'm uploading them to your panel, now, Lordene.
"Graveheart, if you'd like to analyze the best readings of the remaining sectors available--uploading them, now--I would appreciate the extra input."

(Assuming the moon isn't small and that the sectors are only a few miles across, considering it's a "short" scouting run.)
Thel seems to over analyze the situation, "Yeah sure they got the best surface spots, simple minds attracted to shiny things." He mutters to himself trying to scan deeper than just the crust.
He tries bouncing signals off the orbiting military ships to get several points of reference at the same time. "Sparsely dense rock... no voids... there could be a cluster, but it's small... hmm maybe there... no it's probably..." A small blinking light flashes on his screen. "I see a pocket about a kilometer underground here," he sends the coordinates to Alehina and Ishmael. "I can't be sure what is there, could be oil, gas, maybe even just water or a cave."
"Caves could lead to riches too!" He thinks to himself.

"Looks good," Ishmael said, nodding at the coordinates. "Lordene, plot a course."
So far, it looked like the crew would get along decently. Some of them seemed to already know each other, so that could potentially improve productivity. He took the time during the trip to review the mission parameters one last time and mentally prepare scenarios and how he'd deal with them.

"Admiral, another unit has arrived to the salvage zone." Malik says from his seat before his computer console. He is aboard the Umbrella Cadence, one of the lead Military escort ships, "Unit 009B412, Welcome to the party. You're a little late. Please make sure you are connected to correct channels that you have been assigned to. Please keep in mind that we have about ten and a half hours remaining for your shift. Thank you. Umbrella Cadence out."
"Thank you, Malik," Admiral Thessan replies, "How are the other crews looking?"
"So far, so good." Malik replies, "No odd activity within sensor range and all channels are pretty quite, excluding the casual chatter. Salvage Slayers are at it again, it would seem."
The Admiral rolls his eyes--that's nothing new. "Excellent."
Another man from a console near Malik gasps slightly. They look to him, slightly alert, but not overly bothered. He blushes, apologizing profusely. "Sorry, sorry. I just realized...Alehina is piloting that ship! She is an amazing pilot! Have you ever seen her--"
"Stow it, rookie." Admiral Thessan cuts in, "You can leave your idolization and your wet dreams back at the mess hall. I expect you to keep the comms clean--no daydreaming, you got it?"
"Sorry, Sir!" The man cuts in sheepishly, "I-it won't happen again!"
As the Admiral walks away, Malik leans in with a smirk. "Have you seen her ass? I got to touch her hand once. For two. Whole. Seconds."
"Just 'cause you're the one that pulled her ID during a freaking security check doesn't mean anything, dude! You watch...I'm gonna marry her one day." The guy sighs, returning back to his duties and ignoring Malik's sceptical expression. He grits his teeth at Malik's last, appreciative words:
"Dat ass."

Craisa gasped, the moon was starting to come into view. She pressed her face up to the glass, straining to see closer. "This is so cool. We'll be there soon and.. wait." She paused as she saw something else, a ship.
Craisa moaned and turned to Ishmael and Karde. "A team's already there, where are we going to salvage?" They'd probably already have everything taken care of. They'd still get to view the moon up close, though. "Something more to draw," she made her expression neutral, not so discouraged.

Reego's Den is one of Sonali's favorite places to go when she wants to be out. It is a good balance between a club and a restaurant. Plus the food is delicious. She steps in and is taken to 'her' table. It is one that is further from the dancing. She loves listening to the music even though she cannot dance at all.
She is seated and a waitress drops off a menu. Another reason why she love this place is for their variety of foods. She looks at the menu and picks something new.

It's then that he send those new coordinates to her and Ishmael and their Captain decide to go there.
''Yes Cap'n ! Everyone prepare for landing.'' She says as she start to take a course closer to the moon toward those coordinates. It's then that they receive a message on the console from the umbrella cadence Admiral. Alehina was focusing on landing however so she didn't say much toward that. Before long the ship would finally hit the ground of the moon and Alehina would let go of the controls.
''Well that's that. Heard the Admiral, let's make sure we're on the good channels of communication. '' She said mostly toward the two millitary officers that were with them.
They simply check and one of them says ''Communication Channel is green.''
''Well Cap'n we're there, what's the plan now ? '' Alehina gently ask.

"Same as before, Lordene," Ishmael said mildly, "just a different location. We land, we split into teams, and we get to work. Karde, if you wouldn't mind choosing the teams?"
He put on his helmet and began preparing for departure. He looked forward to the chance to explore the moon of the place they'd soon be calling home.

The miner crossed his arms listening in to the radio's signal. Craisa's remark was something that made him grunt as well but it figures, he was late and to blame for this. He should have just taken a jerky and ran out this morning.
"In the case of the mission Craisa its not where we go but how deep we -can- go.
Where we set up is of no importance." He spoke dryly.
Still arms crossed sporting his usual expression he looked as they landed, he didn't show much emotion through his sourpuss face. Inside his mind he was curious, very curious almost like a cat trying to claw at catnip through a couch, his helmet turned on and retracted to cover his face as they landed, as Ishmael gave the orders he pointed to both people he'd choose for the rig operations.
"Alehina, Lucius your both assisting with rig operations today." His gaze then turned to Garm, one of the Krogan soldiers that joined the mission. "You, with me. Everyone else your with the Captain."
He said in a very strict fashion, his hand beckoning them to come over to the ship's hangar bay where the two rig suits we're held in. He stayed there looking at Ishmael, and curtly he asked. "Objections Captain?" He had organised the teams to have 2 people with military training in each.
