Worlds Roleplay

Another magic user, her world must be very interesting.. magic vs. science, if only Arien's world had to endure just that. She couldn't help but wonder how much power that adorable girl could be hiding.

She took a step forward when Ravenna closed her mouth without giving an answer. "I desire the restoration of my world. It has fallen to darkness after the destruction of a magical relic, The Orb of Light." She spoke calmly, "and it seems it's only hope is if the orb returns.. " Arien trailed off having said all she needed to. She hoped Yuuko would understand and be able to help. With the tree spirit dead she feared the situation was worsening by the second.

He kept an eye on the woman as they walked, his last knife still in hand as they approached the house. He glanced up at the small crowd already gathered and stared, attempting to make sense of them.

The tall woman had the clear air of authority and was the one to greet them, and he spared her a long look before gazing at her companions. The girls with the technicolor hair were locals, but the other three distinctively weren't - so much for isolationist Japan. One was even armed with a sword, of all possible things. He reached casually inside his coat for his recorder, then stopped himself. He doubted that would be in any better condition than his gun. No gun and no recorder. He didn't much care for his position right now.

He gave the professional a sideways glance as they approached. "I don't suppose you'd care for assistance," he said, glancing down at her leg. He glanced back up at the Asian woman casually, suspicion and mistrust in his eyes.

Tristan nodded as he listened to the man, taking any information this man could offer. So this Yuuko knew something about him even though they had never met. He didn't know how she could know all this, but he wasn’t going to refuse an opportunity to find out more. “Just a little lost. That's all.”

If it was true that she could really help him with his situation then it was worth a shot. He wasn’t having much luck on his own. “Well lead on, and I’ll follow.” With that, Tristan started following the young man, hoping to find more answers when he met Yuuko.

''Bailey, I'm telling you, our defenses aren't enough to stop their allied forces! They WILL just out number the hell out of us.'' Eva said, raising her voice to her sister.

''Calm down Eva, you are completely underestimating our forces. We are stronger than them sister, have you forgotten that?'' she replied, keeping her quiet tone of voice.

Eva simply glared at her sister before pinching the bridge of her nose and sighing, simply turning away and storming off afterwards.

So obviously her sister wasn't going to help her with this predicament, because she somehow thought they were fine, sure don't listen to the battle master. Sheesh..

Eva walked aimlessly for a bit, brainstorming ways to prevent them from all dying out in this next battle. The Vesperian hide out was built in a mountain with the help of their earth elemental users. To be more precise, it is a shallow mountain with a stone citadel inside its center, bridges connecting the majestic monument to the sides of the mountain dome where a long set of structures used as houses were built. However, Eva's room was right beside the barracks/training grounds for easy access to her troops.

This did give them an advantage, since no enemy had successfully made it into the mountain yet and did not know what to expect, though that would definitely not be enough to achieve victory.

On that thought, Eva got an idea, doubling the traps would definitely be an advantage, but that would cut off access to the outside world, too many traps becomes dangerous to venture through. She sighed again as she made it to her room and simply collapsed on her bed, the stress was giving her a headache, she decided to take a nap, she could most likely think straight afterwards.

On that note, after a few minutes of tossing and turning, she managed to go into slumber.

He stood there in silence with his hands in his pockets. He could use a drink about now. There were too many of these people. But the feeling was familiar. It was similar to the crew getting together specialists from across time and space. But these, as far as he knew, where just misfits. In the best case scenario? Liabilities. In the worst case scenario? Collateral Damage. His patience was being tried.

He takes note of the seemingly omniscient woman doing the most talking. She must have brought him here. Perfect. Because he was just dying to know when someone new would show up, wanting something from him. His inhibitors flicker for a moment and he places a toothpick in the corner of his mouth with his hat on his head.

She sat there and played the part of the benevolent overseer but Wraith wasn't in the mood. He simply stood there, utterly calm, waiting on her to make her pitch.

As for the others? What did he care? Unless they could help him destroy the M-Krel or get back to his crew, which he was positive they couldn't, they were unimportant.

Trick gave a short laugh at the kids comment, hiding his irritation. Christ he was annoying. The world must look a lot prettier in black and white.

He watched the woman warily as he followed the conversation. He rested his forearms against the fence, leaning forward casually as he listened and the kid started to treat the professional's wounds. He smirked.

"I wonder how much longer he'll think you're a damsel," he commented, pretending not to notice as his knife changed hands and ended up, clean of blood, in Yuuko's possession. His gaze darted back as another pair joined them, and he pushed off the fence, casually walking inside the fence and pulling out his pistol. He sat cross-legged on the ground at a distance from the others, his remaining knife near at hand, as he began to disassemble and clean the weapon.

He kept his eye on his surroundings, possible escape routes running through his mind.

Following the young man, Tristan ended up walking into a house. The first thing he noticed was the amount of people gathered. The young man said Yuuko helped people, so did all these people need help or was there another reason? Many of them looked just as confused as he was. “Huh…I wasn’t expecting a party. Sorry I’m late.” He lightly joked.

Tristan walked to a spot he could stand at and started scanning the people around him: a couple of the people were male, several were female, one wounded, and a few with pointed ears. Tristan could only assume they all came from different locations, some obviously very far away.

Focusing on the tall Asian woman, he speculated that this was Yuuko. Her presence could not be denied and she appeared to be the focal point to everyone around. “You must be, Yuuko. I guess you were expecting me…though to be honest, I’m not sure how you knew I was here.” He mentioned as he rubbed a hand through his hair.

With all the tension in the room, he felt like he had interrupted something big. No matter, he could only wait and listen to find out why he was brought here and if Yuuko could truly help him.

Eva would be startled awake by a loud rumbling. There was screaming and shouting outside her room and powerful magics permeated the air.

Eva shot up confused before she felt magic weighing on her shoulders. ''What the..'' muttered, shaking her head to wake up. She quickly grabbed her gauntlets and ran out of her room, equipping them at the same time.

Outside she'd discover a massacre. Guards and mages lay littered about like so much garbage. And though the majority seemed to still be alive, there were a few that were still and would never move again.

An old man--a mage--leaned against a wall, looking in bad shape. Blood was leaking out the side of his eyes and he was breathing hard as if it was both difficult and painful.

Eva felt a shiver run through her whole body as she grasped the situation. She stood still for a few moments, unable to move, speak or even breathe. Finally, she started breathing again only to cough from the stench of blood. The only word coming to her mind was: How? She gritted her teeth together, finally taking a step forward and looking around, discovering an old mage leaning against a wall. Eva almost ran to him and once standing in front of him she almost yelled out ''What the fuck happened here?'' a cold look in her eyes.

The old man's eyes struggled to look at the young woman before him. "E--Eva...?" he said painfully. "You...must go...powerful...powerful mage...attacked. Power...power like I've never seen...magic unlike...anything! He tore through us like we were the air. He..." His eyes widened. "Bailey! He...he was heading to the top!"

She blurted out a curse and attempted healing the man, only to realize his wounds weren't physical. She muttered blasphemy again before adding on ''If you can get to the infirmiry, do it, it's not too far from here... if your make it, be sure to have some healers come help the injured here.'' she finished, saluting the man before sprinting off towards her sisters quarters.

The ascent to the top revealed more battle--one-sided at that. Debris and chunks of walls and floor lay scattered everywhere and men and women lay in defeat. At the top, in her sister's room, she'd find her sister hanging limply on her knees leaning backward, a man's hand holding her by the front of her shirt as silver light flowed from her into a floating, silver, glowing orb in the man's palm.

His clothes were unlike their world, but well-cut robes of a green so dark it was almost black with gold and silver trim and etchings of strange symbols all over it that seemed to shimmer, reappear, and disappear constantly with no foreseeable pattern. The man himself was of his middle years, incredibly handsome, with well-groomed hair and beard peppered with white flecks in both that gave him an even more distinguished look. He wore a monocle in his left eye and light gray eyes regarded Eva casually. "Ah," he said with a deep, resonant voice, "there was another of you. Of course. Well, run along, child, nothing to see here."

Eva's body was trembling on her way to Bailey's quarters. Who had done this? It couldn't possibly be the allied nations. The wards would have detected them and there wasn't any enemies in sight, only defeated Vesperians. Despite this, she only cursed and continued running as fast as she could.

Finally, She arrived, gasping at the scene before her. "BAILEY!" She yelled out, rage rushing through her body. The man looked at her at and simply brushed her off as if she was nothing. "Who the FUCK are you?" She asked not wanting to charge in blindly.

The man said nothing for a moment as the last vestiges of silver light left Eva's sister. "Dear child," he said in a lecturing tone, "if I took the time to introduce myself to every indignant boor that demanded my name, I'd never get any work done." He looked over at the wall to his right that was directly in front and across from Eva and lifted his hand, writing runes that came alive. At once, a door appeared on the wall and opened, revealing a light pattern of primarily blue energy with golden swirls. "Suffice it to say, I'm a traveler and my work is done here. Good day."

"NO! You are NOT leaving!" Eva yelled out, changing to Dark stance, her skin itself turning black and every thing else on her switching to its opposite color. Eva than lifted both her hands above her head and a dark orb formed in a flash between her hands. And thus, a few seconds after her outburst the orb was launched at high speed towards the man.

The man raised an eyebrow in slight surprise. "Well, well, a dark/light type?" he said as, with a casual flick of his wrist, her dark orb unraveled in mid air. "Rare. Raw. You should train those powers up and one day you might actually be formidable." The silver orb glowed brightly and disappeared as he turned and began walking into the door.

Eva growled as the man turned away and entered the door, she switched to holy again and muttered "Fleet foot.." a white glow appearing around her. And then, with great speed she sprinted towards the door the man had summoned. Midway to the door a magic circle appeared under Eva and intercepted her. She felt pain like she never had before run through her body, which was now paralyzed. The second the pain started, Eva yelled out in agony, but, with shear will power, she gritted her teeth and tensed all her body to break the paralysis, breaking out of the magic circle all together and rushing towards the door once again, despite her body feeling somewhat numb from the pain.

In a burst of magical energy she charged through the door, bursting into what looked like a tunnel of energy with golden rings circling it. The magical energy surrounding her crackled and sparked as she went hurtling through at breakneck speeds. The man was below her and gave a small clap. "Impressive," he said, "however foolish. You've entered too recklessly and imbalanced yourself. I wish you well on your journey, should you survive it."

She went hurtling into one of the walls of energy and crashed through it, hurtling into eternity. She experienced the slow torture of hurtling through forever, and the inexplicable shock of blinking and an instant being gone. Worlds came and went in her view. Different worlds, times, different versions of herself, worlds she never could've imagined. And then, she found herself speeding for a bright light.

10% Light 10% Dark

Bright glowing lights was all Eva was able to see after entering the portal, it blinded her momentarily due to the change of luminosity. She heard the man talking, not really catching what he was actually saying, and before she could do anything, she crashed through what seemed to be a wall of energy.

What laid behind that energy, Eva couldn't even fully comprehend. It seemed she was simply floating through nothingness.... however, she could see... Worlds? She guessed, not recognizing any of them as her own. Worlds? She had never even stopped to think that there were others than her own.

And then suddenly, a bright light, and out of nowhere there she was, being pulled by gravity once more, free from nothingness and directionless drifting. To her surprise, her fall was cushioned by what seemed to be a mattress.

However, that is when she noticed in what state her body and magic were. She grunted, getting up slowly to then analyze her surroundings, it seemed she had stumbled upon a variety of people grouped up, they all seemed like quite the odd mix, but none of them looked too surprised of her sudden arrival from nothing. The man had obviously not taken the same turn as herself.. which made her quite a bit discouraged. How was she supposed to find some one who could apparently travel between worlds... Anyway.. no point in squabbling over that for the time being, betting find out who these people were and what this place exactly is.

Eva sighed and overlooked all the group and simply asked "Would some one be kind enough to tell me where I have crash landed?" seating herself back onto the mattress, her body needed time to recover from all the madness she just went through.

"Japan, 21st Century, just outside Tokyo," Trick said, glancing up from what he was doing to give her a look. He swept his gaze over the group one more time, his gaze like ice, before he looked back down at his work. Another dropping in like him. From the variety of people and weapons gathered here he was starting to suspect this wasn't his Tokyo.

He reached into his inside coat pockets, starting to pull out his other equipment as well and air it out to try - recorder, tapes, lighters - "now that's just cruel," he muttered as he pulled out his pack of cards, soaking wet and unusable. Rope, wire, a flask, first aid supplies, a few vials of unknown liquids, all he laid out in front of him in neat rows as he cleaned out his gun with meticulous care.

Tristan was waiting for some sort of explanation from Yuuko when all of a sudden a girl came crashing down from above. He couldn’t even guess where she came from. “You don’t see that every day…” He commented. He had seen more bizarre things in the past few days then the whole rest of his lifespan. It was strange to think how small his world was when he compared it to all that was out there.

“You sure you’re okay?” He asked the girl who had just arrived. She seemed all right, but it was obvious that she had gone through a lot. He had been fortunate enough that when he arrived he had made a quiet entrance into this world.

When Tristan heard the word Japan as to where he was, he smiled. “So this really is Earth…a version of it anyway.” He had seen maps and images of the planet; he studied them when he was a kid. Who knew that one day he would be able to actually visit the homeland even if it was just a version of it.

Trick finished cleaning his gun and slammed the clip back into place, raising an eyebrow at Yuuko as she spoke. She looked at him as she mentioned the Legionator’s ‘companion,’ and he narrowed his eyes, irritated. What price –

His eyes flicked down to his knife still in her possession. He pursed his lips. Of course. Anger seared through him, and the impulse to shoot her and take back what was his rose up in him. He smothered that impulse. He wasn’t an idiot, and he felt claustrophobic surrounded by all these righteous, upstanding young people. The professional, at least, would jump on even the slightest excuse to kill him.

He finished cleaning his recorder and tested it, muttering a few words into it and playing them back. He clipped the recorder on under his collar and started to collect his things, keeping his gaze on Yuuko.

Ultimately it was a question of who he hated more – this woman or the interlopers who got in his way. The answer was obvious. If she could tell him anything useful about the poser and his friends, a knife was worth it. Not like it’s the first one I’ve lost. If he’d had more time he’d find a way to get back at Yuuko, but as it stood…

He flipped his remaining knife in his hand absently and remained seated. He grinned as the girl, Ravenna, introduced herself as a magician. "You don't say? So am I," he said with a smirk. Maybe not the kind of magic she was thinking of, though. Too bad his cards were ruined. “Adrian,” he said. “No wishes for me. I’ll stick around for my answers and then be on my merry way.” Her offer of a wish was far too uncomfortably like the poser’s own offer. Either way there were no wishes he wanted granted by her.

Tristan sighed as he looked around the room.  This place was filled with a bunch of uptight individuals.  He almost felt like he was standing inside the council again except here he didn’t know any of them.  

Listening quietly, he couldn’t help but smile at the title Legionater.  Talk about warm and cozy.  When Ravenna announced she was a magician and Adrian explained he was one as well, he couldn’t help but inquire.  “So you actually use magic? I've only read about things like that in stories.” They had nothing but technology in his timeline.

“Name’s Tristan.” He put his hand in his pocket. He didn’t particular want to explain why he was here with an audience especially since he had no information on who he was running from, but at least it seemed like Yuuko was going to be able to help him.
