Character Closure RP

[ATTN: Hunting & Idle Party]

As the animals come running, she fires her gun as soon as her visor notifies her that they are in range. The brilliant, blue bursts of rays explode from the weapon with a surprisingly more quiet volume than one would expect. Shooting them down in quick bursts, she grants them a mercy with her accuracy to give them the least amount of suffering possible.

After hitting about seven or eight of them, Celsetta jumps within her suit as she notices that Brelion is standing to her left, only a few feet away. She didn't expect him to be there so suddenly, though he does seem different, for some reason. She is about to speak his name with inquiry when his voice echoes through her mind in his usual way.

"I need a few of these animals--please forgive the need for more kills, but it would appear that the blood user is low on her blood at the moment." Brelion says. He sees Celsetta's look of mild concern and continues. "You needn't worry. I will ensure that she is in good health."

With that, he moves forward and takes a few of the kills and flies off with his battered wings, his rough departure from the ground making it quite obvious that it is painful and arduous to fly. She cringes, turning back to the hunt, only to find that Asher has already taken care of several of the kills, himself. How many should they need to kill, anyway?

As Brelion returns a while later, he finds that Taeyrn fellow is still unconscious and Geneva is attending to his care. He brings the bodies before the weakened Nymeria, quick to place them right next to her and quickly ask her telepathically if there is anything else she needs. He is somewhat afraid of what she will do.

Nymeria calmly waited for the fate that awaited her body. Confident her body could last for a few more hours, she focused on keeping herself relaxed and composed. The air around her was so silent, save for Geneva tending to Taeyrn. She could hear the remnants of her blood getting pumped through her starved brain. If Brelion didn't make it back in time, Nymeria would have to resort to extreme measures, lest she become trapped within a corpse.

After moments of silence, deep thought, and difficult breathing, the sound of heavy steps grace Nymeria's ears. By the time Brelion returned, Nymeria's skin appeared much more pale than normal and her fingernails took on a bluish hue. She concentrated on instructing Brelion how to resupply her with the fresh blood.

"A transfusion is the quickest solution, so make an incision near the chest." Once Brelion follows the instructions, Nymeria pools her own blood into her hand closest to the bodies before forcing the blood through her fingertips as small needle-like proboscises. Each needle inserts itself into an incision, sucking the new blood into her body as quickly as possible. She continued pulling blood as long as she was conscious, losing sight of her surroundings. Several minutes later the needles retreated back into Nymeria's fingers. She let out a sigh as her hand fell into a resting position.

"Thanks. Save the livers for later." She exhaled before her resting once again.

He was aware that Brelion had come to land, but he didn't lose focus, tuning out his words as he took down another of the creatures. He grabbed another arrow, his brow furrowing as he took aim at the next.

He briefly wondered, looking at the bodies, if they had enough already, and as he loosed another arrow he finally spoke up. "This enough for us, you think?" If this were some creature he knew he'd say yes for sure, but Maker knew what sort of anatomy these creatures had, or how much of them was edible.

Brelion assists the woman as best he can, but there is no denying that he is quite disturbed at what she does. He has never seen any creature do this and it is quite strange, albeit less gory than he had originally expected. Relieved at her recovering, he finally backs away from Nymeria and looks over at Taeyrn. He's still unconscious and his heartbeat sounds weak. Given a few days, he should be okay.

Brelion's head suddenly jerks up, his eyes shifting into a deep brown and black color, darkening steadily as his irises become larger. He looks over at Sullivan and Geneva, speaking into their minds with a somewhat cautious tone.

"The Guardian is coming; the Guardian is almost here." Brelion says.

With a few animals now being gathered carefully by Celsetta's practiced hands, she decides that they do have enough to feed everyone--even Brelion should end up with two to himself, if he can eat that much. She wonders how much Gargoyles eat...

The Gargoyles land a few feet away as she and Asher just finish up with the preparations to carry their prey to the rest of the group. She smiles and waves at them, but her eyes move to the small band around her wrist that suddenly begins to beep.

Bringing the waving hand down before her eyes, she looks at the band more closely and a small screen pops up above it, a transparent, green rectangle of light as text sprawls across it. She looks at it for just a few moments before looking back up at her hunting partners.

"We need to go back, now. My sensors are picking up the Guardian. He's almost here." Celsetta says hurriedly.


[ATTN: Idle Party]

The hover craft that Sullivan is riding also beeps a few moments later, a notification of the scanner picking up the familiar DNA scans of the Guardian. Brelion bows to the ground as a humanoid figure can be seen in the distance, appearing over a hilltop and moving down its side and coming towards them at a rather quick pace. It walks on two legs, though the legs are much longer and thinner than that of a human's. As it gets close enough to the group, it approaches Brelion first, touching the top of his head to release him from his bow.

The creature has blue, human-like eyes and long, brown hair like any human would have, but those are the most human traits about him. He has a masculine voice and lacks the female breasts of a woman while still having the nipples and abdominal structure of a man. He is shirtless and stands at ten feet tall. Of course, his legs are bony and elongated (still clearly visibly through is thin and leather like pants), as are his arms, and he has but three fingers on each hand and his feet are hidden within shoes.

The Guardian:

The Guardian speaks, "Brelion, my friend. It has been a long time since you have wandered upon my lands. It is nice to see you."

"Yes," Brelion says shortly, with a submissive-like tone. He seems nervous and not at all like one would be around a "friend." Still, that is all that Brelion says as the Guardian's eyes switch to that of the four Pillars before him.

He looks each of them over carefully without saying a word, his careful and calculating eyes meandering over each of them with a slow patience as the hunting party comes into view. His eyes eventually shifts to them, his eyes looking them over as they move forward with their prizes. He pays no attention to Celsetta, nor to the animals they have hunted.

Before they are close enough to the Idle party, she whispers urgently to the group. "Don't talk. Okay? Don't speak unless you are spoken to."

They decrease the distance between them. Looking at each of them with a cold, icy gaze, the Guardian seems completely neutral and emotionless. Celsetta comes near enough to sit down next to Brelion, her eyes not leaving the form of the Guardian for even a moment as she approaches. She is silent and says absolutely nothing as she nervously picks this place and seats herself.

[Attn Idle Party, Open]

Nymeria felt she was close to falling asleep as she heard sudden movement and a small beeping sound, probably coming from flying machine. Nymeria turned her head to the source of the sound with only one eye slightly open. She saw Brelion bowing away from her towards something she couldn't see until it finally came within a metre from the group. It looks just as alien as the creatures Nymeria has already encountered, but it seemed to be more self aware than the tailed monsters she fought.

Without a single iota of what to say, Nymeria kept her mouth tightly closed as she watched the humanoid come closer to the group; the hunting party had just arrived in time as well. Once Nymeria realized she was looking at a guardian, she couldn't take her attention off of it. She wondered how he would react to Geneva's introduction. The girl seemed polite enough.

Asher nodded as Celsetta told them to go back, noticing the anxiety in her voice. A Guardian, huh? Doesn't sound like fun...

As they made their way back, he could see the figure of what he assumed was the guardian towering over those they'd left behind. Its elongated features were kind of... nauseating, the more he looked at them, and he decided not to share this insight with Celsetta as she hurried to meet with the Guardian.

Asher kneeled down behind Celsetta, placing his hands on his knees and looking away from the Guardian when he realized he'd been staring.

The Guardian is still carefully looking over each Pillar with his quiet and calculating gaze when Geneva speaks to him with a polite greeting. His head jerks around as his cold gaze returns to her. As he is so much taller than her, he bends down onto one knee in order to make his level of gaze much closer to hers.

"Yes, I know you. Geneva Quinn, the Awakened." The Guardian says, "You came here because Damien LaChance opened a portal near your home with the hopes that you would meet a fate that he has planned for you, but that is not why you are here. Instead, your destiny whispers of a final form, a true completion and acceptance of yourself."

Celsetta visibly relaxes where she is sitting--as does Brelion. In fact, Celsetta's expression is clearly one of relief. With just a small smile, she stands up and begins to move towards the hunt with the intentions of preparing the food. The Guardian pays no attention to her activity.

The Guardian pulls away, standing up to his usual height once more as Brelion rolls over onto his side with a huff of pain. His wings are terribly damaged. As the Guardian's eyes shift from Geneva to Brelion, he replies shortly.

"I know only what I have said to you," The Guardian says, "I can tell you nothing more. It is how my gift works."

He bends over Brelion and pets his mane, his stringy form looking quite odd as it is twisted and bent over the more filled form of Brelion. The Guardian's hands begin to glow just slightly as Brelion sighs with relief as his wings begin to slowly heal. The Guardian keeps this up for about twenty minutes with silence.

"Next will be Nymeria and Taeyrn," The Guardian says to Brelion, who thanks him in return before he continues, "The Pillar traffic has increased, Brelion. You know what this means."

Brelion says, "Yes. I am a creature of my word."

The Guardian looks sad, showing emotion for the first time, "I know. I am sorry that you will be forced to fight when it is so against your nature..."

[ATTN: All]

Asher shifted uncomfortably as the mood seemed to relax some. What was he supposed to do now? He shifted himself so he could sit down cross legged and leaned forward, resting his head on his hand.

Should he ask this Guardian what he knew of his destiny? Do I want to? No, he figured, he'd rather not know - he had his doubts that it'd be a pleasant destiny. Better to just sit and watch.

The Guardian of Wisdom is leaning over the girl, intrigued by who and what she is. With confusion, he looks her over with silence, recognizing that she is most certainly not a Pillar. Her aura is weak, her soul is at peace and is quiet. Quite unlike any living creatures he has seen before. She is unconscious and wounded--he wonders if she'd still be alive if he had not stumbled upon her.

He continues to finish bandaging her up, tending to her wounds with care. If she is not a Pillar, she could very well be a Prime. If that's the case, then it would only serve to upset the Knights if she came to harm in his lands. The Guardian must do all that he can to protect her until she is better--that is the wise decision to make, he believes.

A man approaches the Guardian and his charge, his hands in his pockets and his shoulder length hair blowing into his face in the light breeze.

He swatted at the hair in his face and squinted at the two of them. "No way," he said, picking up his pace.

He raised one hand and waved down the Guardian. "Excuse me! Mr Guardian Sir!"

The owl-man turns his head, his head tilted slightly with interest. Another non-Pillar...how intriguing.

The Guardian of Wisdom bows. "How may I assist you, Sire?"

He came to a stop in front of them and blew his bangs back out of his face. "I'm sorry, may I - may I see her for one moment?" He gestured to the girl at the Guardian's feet. "I'm looking for someone like her..."

He squatted down next to the girl, his lanky legs awkwardly splayed, and studied the fallen girl briefly. "Actually," he said, "she may be it."

The Guardian of Wisdom folds his hand behind his back. "Do you know this lady creature?"

"I know of her," he said, running a hand through his hair. "And I've been looking for her. She's the key to saving my people."


The Guardian blinks. "Is that so? A remarkable idea--that one creature can save so many. Perhaps you can share your story with me."

He leaned back in his crouch, landing hard on the ground and crossing his legs. "My people... well, my people are divided in a sense. Have been for a very long time. Two opposing cities, locked in bitter rivalry, etc." He waved a hand almost dismissively. "But that stopped being important, because now there's a force threatening both cities."

He took a breath. "They... killed a lot of my people, from both cities, before we were able to put aside our differences long enough to start to react." He clenched his hands into fists. "So many lives were lost because of politics... and even more are still at risk. My friends and my family. My youngest brother is already dead..."

His knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists, before he forced himself to relax. "But this girl, I was told, is supposed to be dead. But she's not. She was brought back. Which means the key to bringing my people back lies in her cells."

He looked up at the Guardian. "One of your own promised to help me make a concoction from her genetic data. Please, sir, may I take her from here? I swear no ill will come to her."

The Guardian's head tilts once more. "When she wakes, I'm sure she will be more than happy to go with you to help your people. Which Guardian aids you, did you say?"

He ran a hand through his hair. "I don't know," he said, "your people never say if you have any names." He scrunched his nose up. "Some tall lanky one."

The Guardian nods his head with understanding. "I see! Well, why don't you wait with me until she wakes? I'm sure he'd be happy to know that she can help you."

"Ah, okay," he said, rubbing the back of his head and looking down at the girl. "Though, how long might that take...?" he muttered worriedly. "Is she alright?"

The Guardian replies, "She seems to have been attacked--but she'll be okay. I'm sure she'll wake within the hour. Would you like some tea?"

"Tea?" he said, startled, looking around them for some sign of a kettle. "I mean, I'd appreciate it, if you're offering," he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

The Guardian stands straight, now, moving over to the doorway. "It's just in the next room. I'll prepare some for us. Perhaps you can tell me of where you are from while we wait. I do love to learn."

The moment the guardian left the room, a spiral of air burst up below the girl, lifting her off the floor. The wind whistled beneath her, but not a sound escaped more than a foot past her - in the next room, the guardian would hear nothing.

He grabbed hold of the girl with one hand and stepped into his own cyclone, lifting up off the ground and shooting off with his prize.

When the Guardian returns, he finds the empty room and drops the tray in his hands. With glowing eyes, he shoots up into the air, his eyes darting in various directions as he spins in circles above the small home. After a few moments, he finds them.

With the loud hoot of an owl, hundreds of birds fly into the air, all headed for the same target. The Guardian does not have to fly long in order to catch up with the man. Clearly, his intentions were not as he had claimed.

The birds are ready to take their own claim on the hostage taker as The Guardian activates his own magic. The great trees from below begin to grow into an enormous size and the branches move up to grab at the man as the birds shoot toward him to pierce him within the air.

He rose up higher into the air, riding a cyclone of wind, and glanced back to see the guardian and his bird friends in hot pursuit. "Not fast enough, I guess," he said, a sly smile spreading across his face before he suppressed it.

He turned in midair to face his pursuers, and guts of wind suddenly burst out around him, cutting into the swarm of birds and tearing at their wings. "I didn't want to do this, Guardian," he yelled, "but my little brother has waited long enough! Let me save him!"

The Guardian halts in the air, no wings visible to be allowing him to fly. He shakes his head as his eyes begin to glow. "I'll give you one last chance to let the girl go. Otherwise, I'll be forced to take matters into an unpleasant direction."

He blinked, but stood his ground. "Well, it was worth one last shot," he said, and a vicious grin spread across his face as he sent a flurry of wind blades rushing towards the Guardian.

The wind blades head forth and the Guardian closes his eyes and vanishes from sight. The tree branches finally reach up high enough and grasp onto the man's foot.

He looked down and clicked his tongue, annoyed. He pulled the girl closer to him and built his cyclone even higher, encasing himself and the girl within the high speed winds. The branch grabbing his foot was cut in two, and he was free - but surely the Guardian would attempt to strike him soon.

So concerned was he with his sides that he forgot to look above him - and talons dug into his shoulder and yank him out of the center of his cyclone. He yelped with pain, and his cyclone lost it's energy, dissipating beneath his feet until he swung in the air, the girl clutched in his arms and the talons of the Guardian the only thing keeping from splattering to his death below.

He looked up at the Guardian as he dropped his invisibility, and desperately swung an arm up at him, firing off a wind blade. The Guardian dropped him without hesitation, and the girl slipped from his hands as he fell. He spun in the air, swinging a hand and starting to build a new cyclone to catch his fall, but before he could the trees reached up to meet him. Branches slithered around his hands and his legs, pulling them back and holding him helpless in their embrace.

The man looked around desperately for his prize, and found her nestled safely in the branches not twenty meters from him. The Guardian descended until he hovered in front of him, face to face. The man yanked on the branches holding him back desperately as he looked up at the Guardian.

The Guardian looks at him with sadness and speaks softly, "May you find peace in the embrace of the Goddess."

The man looked at him, hopelessness in his eyes - for only a moment. Steadily, he found himself smiling, and he couldn't keep the glee out of his voice when he spoke.

"Psyche."

He opened his mouth and screamed - not a pathetic, desperate scream, but a booming one, loud enough to shake the branches of the trees around them. His voice rose to deafening volumes, amplified in a sonic wave that the Guardian could not defend. The Guardian doubled over, clutching at his ears, and the branches released him and the girl as he lost his focus. The man produced a cyclone beneath himself and the girl, catching them both, and with a wave of his hand a wind blade flew forward and cut the Guardian across the chest.

Isaac flew forward and grabbed hold of the Guardian by the neck. "This could have ended peacefully, you know. All you had to do was give me what I wanted," he said with a grin. The Guardian looked up, blood running from it's ears and a dazed look in its eyes. "Oh, you can't hear me anyway," he said, pulling his hand back.

With a flick of his wrist, he cut the Guardian's throat, and the last energy it had keeping it flying gave out. The owl-like body of the Guardian fell backwards, tumbling slowly, almost majestically to the ground below.

As he hit the ground the grass beneath him turned brown, then black, and the blight started to spread out around his body. Death spread around him, into the plants and into the trees that had once been the Guardian's weapon of choice, making their branches shrivel and wilt.

He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh. "Well, everyone's gonna notice that," he said, irritated, and with a beckoning motion the girl floated towards him. He grabbed hold of her and pulled her into his own cyclone, lowering his altitude as he prepared to move off. "Better not stick around," he muttered, and he flew off, his prize in tow.

The Guardian looks to Gosalyn after her inquiry with a blank expression, his analytical eyes moving over her critically and silently before he chooses to respond. He turns his head to that of Nymeria's form as he replies to Gosalyn, and so his eyes do not meet hers as he replies.

He says, "Nothing so dramatic, nor preposterous. It merely means that the natural inhabitants of this world have more work cut out for them."

His hands move to Nymeria's forehead, where his hands begin to glow once more. It can be safely assumed that he is now healing her, in some way. He maintains this bowed posture over her for several minutes before moving away and stepping over to the unconscious Taeyrn.

During that time, Celsetta is doing the talking, though she directly looks at Gosalyn in order to clarify that she is talking to her and does so with a small, helpful smile.

"Well, the Guardians are here to ensure that we--the Pillars--don't mess up theirs. Sure, we aren't necessarily here on purpose, but we all still chose to come here and use this world to reach our own goals. That kind of makes us like...parasites. Or like a virus. All of the services that they do for us in this world is quite patient and organized, all things considered. I mean...I guess what I'm trying to say is--"

The Guardian looks at her and she falls silent. He returns his gaze to Taeyrn as he continues her words for her. "What she means is that you are work. Many of our lives have been disrupted for your sake. And due to this, we have to work with you and for you to ensure your safety, as the laws of the Knights have proclaimed. More of you means more work for you and therefore less work for ourselves."

Nymeria's body tensed as her eyes locked with the Guardian's. She tried not to show her anxiety in order to avoid offending the person. The Guardian must have the intent of helping her, but how would it feel to be healed by those glowing hands? She closely watched the Guardian approach her. Her weakness left her vulnerable to whatever the Guardian had in store for her.

Once the Guardian placed his hands over Nymeria's forehead, she closed her eyes, trying to relax her body. In a matter of minutes, Nymeria regained the strength she had before, although it felt like it took half an hour. She sat up once she heard the Guardian walking away from her. Unsure of what to say, she watched the Guardian heal Tae as he explained everyone's purpose for being here. She wondered what kind of work they were there for, and a small part of her twinged as she remembered the lives she disrupted in her own world.

[ATTN: Guardian, Open]

Asher watched the Guardian heal - Tae? Aw hell, he thought, his eyes going wide. He covered his face with one hand. Some friend he was, taking so long to bloody well notice he was here and out.

He grimaced and lowered his hand as the Guardian leaned over Taeyrn. Asher leaned forward and got to his feet, stepping around the others to move next to Tae and kneel down next to him. Better late than never?

The Guardian speaks softly, this time looking at Drios with almost sad eyes. When he does so, Celsetta looks past Geneva to look into them. She has seen this before, once. It's like he's looking at the creature, but also, yet, looking through him at the same time. She doesn't quite understand it. Without words, she shakes her head to Geneva to let her know that she can handle it on her own.

She pulls her gaze back down to what she's doing, but her mind is far from the matter at hand. Instead, it lingers on the Guardian. She wonders how he senses them, how he always knows.

The Guardian says, "The work you are is not something that you can handle. My job is...quite complicated. Take him, for example."

The Guardian's head gestures over to Brelion, as his hands are still in the process of healing Taeyrn. "The last of his kind. Yet, many Pillars come from worlds where he is plenty--or non-existent. And many even more that would hunt him, either for food or for sport. And many of those that would not care that he is a sentient being. It is a lot of work to ensure his safety in my lands from those that travel here."

Taeyrn doesn't move and Celsetta looks over at the Guardian once more, hesitating in her work. The Guardian's gaze has moved from Drios' to that of Gosalyn's. The sadness is still there, and the eyes almost seem to pierce through her soul. Celsetta shivers. She knows she can't be the only one to feel it when he does that...whatever it is.

"You know what that is like, I am sure. To be hunted like the prey that 'Brelion' has become in a short time." The Guardian says, "And your kin has led you here, with the best of intentions, knowing that."

His hands move away from Taeyrn, though the man remains asleep. The Guardian looks back over to Drios once more. Celsetta goes back to work, uncertain on what to feel or what to say.

"Your loved one is in danger, Gargoyle. She has been taken hostage by a Wind Mage, one with dark power and self-absorption. You needn't stay still for too long. Your path will remain entwined with that of these two brothers." The Guardian gestures to the unconscious Taeyrn and his brother, Asher.

[ATTN: Guardian, Open]

Asher lowered his head at the Guardian's words, looking down at Taeyrn, still unconscious. Thank the Maker, he thought, and immediately felt guilty. But had he been awake, he would have immediately made the connection between the Wind Mage and his brother.

"Now I know you can't lie for shit, so let me help you out some." Asher felt his stomach knot up with anxiety. He couldn't let him hurt Taeyrn. Even if everyone else here found out without his help, Maker knew Isaac hated Taeyrn enough that he'd kill him anyway.

He looked up from Taeyrn and at the Guardian as he responded to Gosalyn. "I'd guess this 'Wind Mage' is from our world," he said. "Wind Force isn't uncommon, this mage could be any number of potent Force Users." Please don't say it, he thought, as he looked at the Guardian. He got the feeling... the Guardian probably knew. Is there any point to keeping this secret then?

"We would be the ones most familiar with what this mage can do," he finished.
