Character Closure RP

Asher cringed as he watched her trying to communicate with the creature, fingering his bow nervously. He shifted his stance, trying to look confident. He was ready to throw up a wall between her and the griffon should the thing even twitch the wrong way. That's not gonna work, Geneva...

Nymeria starred at Geneva as the woman inched closer to the mythical animal. My pupil is already getting herself in danger...And I haven't even taught her a thing. Nymeria was too far to help if the creature suddenly turned violent. She still drew her short blade, hoping she could mitigate some damage. Others in he group were just as tense as she was. If everyone acts to protect at the same moment, things might turn out worse than expected. She thought worriedly.

After Geneva bowed and displayed her peaceful stance, the creature silently eyed her for a minute. It did not appear threatened, but it barely moved at all. Its teal eyes scanned Geneva from head to toe, as if they were drinking in the woman's appearance, posture, and facial expression.

It then slowly paced a quarter circle around Geneva, taking in more visual information. Its nose sniffed at the air around her as the winged dog came a little closer, inch by inch. When it was only a few inches from Geneva, it sniffed at her clothes, its nose gently probing at her torso down to her legs. Should the woman keep still, creature will let its wings droop slightly as it nuzzles at her abdomen.

Tae watches in intrigue as Geneva warms up to the animal and it does the same in return. After it bit, he realizes that is pretty much acting the same way as a dog or a cat would....

Still, this does not ensure that anything is safe. He keeps his distance as the creature nuzzles up against Geneva with a sense of greeting and slight affection. It likes her. However, the creature backs away from Geneva in an instant, fangs showing and eyes glowing as a loud roar escapes it. It takes on a defensive posture and Tae realizes the thing doesn't like something or someone.

It isn't looking at any of them, however, and Tae's gaze follows the direction of where the thing is looking...the creature seemed to come from the shadows, followed by a deep, emerald green glow. It makes no sounds at all, though it seems as though something should be coming from it as it bobs its head from side to side in a snakelike pattern that fills his stomach with a feeling of wrongness...this thing is definitely not natural.

It has a bunch of tails, all of which seem to be moving about in every which way and as its head tilts from side to side, he can feel its gaze slowly slide over his form, the hair on the back of his neck standing up and goosebumps rising on his flesh. As the creature remains placed in the same spot on the ground, he realizes that the grass at its feet slowly decays into blackness, spreading out from its feet slowly.

Taeyrn stares at it for so long, it is as if he has lost track of time. Or that time has stood still. Or maybe time ceased to exist as he had ever understood it. Almost as if he is frozen, the creature finally emits a sound, eerie laughter that seems to mock him.

Due to the sudden sound, Tae snaps out of it, shaking his head with the realization that he was under some sort of....trance. He becomes frightened as he realizes that they are now surrounded by the things....there are so many of them, just standing there and blackening the earth where they stand.

Tae turns around in circles, trying to count--there must be about a dozen of them and he is literally shaking in fear from these unnaturally silent and evil beings, feeling as though bugs are crawling underneath his skin at every stare that they give him, grinning all the while with a mocking excitement from within their snake-like movements.

Turns out it's friendly after all. Nymeria thought as the winged beast warmed up to Geneva. The scene caused a softness to build inside Nymeria's heart. That is, until the creature backed away defensively. Nymeria stood, unsure what to think, until she heard Sullivan's cry. Nymeria turned to see a big-eyed, slender creature that appeared more foreboding than the last. She watched it carefully, thinking she was keeping close attention, but she never noticed the several other creatures appearing out of nowhere. That's when Nymeria remembered she still had a blade in her hands.

"Get it together, Taeyrn. You're only stressing yourself out." She reminded him coolly. Any brash decisions would result in a shitty situation, Nymeria was sure. Being surrounded by the wild lifeforms reminded her of one encounter with a pack of elephants, but now wasn't the time to reminisce in past events.

Asher slowly went pale as the first of the creatures appeared, frozen in place. He stared at it, trying to will himself to look away, but it was like watching a storm or some other disaster - he couldn't look away.

He snapped out of it quickly, noticing they were suddenly surrounded, and finally his hand went to his quiver. He had his bow drawn in an instant, moving out from behind the others to get a good vantage. No Force yet - that'd be a surprise for the little bastards. "Tae," he said tightly, trying to swallow back his own crawling fear. "We got this."

It moved with rapidity, leaping for Gosalyn, wrapping its tail around her sword arm and trying to pull it aside. She leapt forward, not resisting, and rolled on the ground, grabbing the tail with her free arm and pulling, holding out her sword to impale it.
Another, in the same instant one had leapt for Gosalyn, leapt for Drios, wrapping its tail around his left arm. He snarled and pulled and spun, swinging the beast to slam it on the ground.
Sullivan squeaked as one whipped its tail out, dodging it. He rolled away as it leapt at him and proceeded to keep as much distance between them as possible.

Geneva hears the griffin like creature roar. It is the warning Geneva needed to prevent getting hit by the monsters tail. She was not prepared for the next one. It strikes her along the arm she brought up to protect herself.
She cringes, her arm stinging. She looks at the river and manages to form a water whip. She slaps it quickly against one of the creatures. She didn't hit it as well as she wanted. A hit is a hit though.

Wailele dodges the creatures expertly. “Use me Geneva.”
“No, not until I have too. We don't even know what they are weak against.” Geneva tells her. “Besides the attack exhaust you.”

As one leaped towards him, and earthen wall rose up and stopped it in it's tracks. Asher threw up another wall behind him, leaping up onto it to get a better vantage before shooting the thing that charged him.

One of the demonic creatures within Nymeria’s sight leapt for her upper body. She tucked and rolled, narrowly avoiding the creature’s claws.
Nymeria pulled down her mask and slit her wrist as she got back to her feet, but the one-eyed hell spawn was already charging for her. Nymeria quickly pulled the blood out of her arm, the liquid traveling around her wrist and down her hand.
Just as the creature jumped onto her, Nymeria shaped her blood into long spines, protruding into the monster’s torso. The thing continued fighting, wrapping its tails around Nymeria’s arms and legs, but Nymeria used all of her focus to create more spines from the ones that were already embedded into the beast’s body.
Within seconds, Nymeria was free as the creature fell onto its back, taking some of her used blood with it. Nymeria breathed heavily as she looked around for her comrades.

Tae has only a brief moment to shake off the magical fear that had been pressed into his mind, realizing from the confident words of his companions that they had somehow not been so easily affected by the creatures’ dark magic as he had been. He shakes his head with confusion, backing away from the creatures with little time to think about it before one leaps at his face.
The creature is so fast that he doesn’t even have time to pull out his sword before the creature’s many tails were wrapped tightly around his arms and neck, choking the oxygen from his lungs as he falls prone to the ground and struggles to breathe.

The creature attacking Gosalyn wastes no time in noticing the blade coming for its torso as another tail makes its way for her other arm and easily pulls the two limbs apart. Just as quickly, two more tails reach for her wings, pulling them apart in opposite directions roughly from above her shoulders. The creature shrieks, unbothered by the grappling force of the dragon-woman.

Drios slams his own enemy to the ground, but the creature’s many tails still wrap tightly to his strong arm as he does so, persistent in remaining attached to the limb at all costs. The impact of the blow seems to rattle it quite effectively, but that does not cause it to let go.
As the creature makes the crash into the ground from where it had once stood, another tail makes its way for his ankle, pulling tightly onto it while pulling his arm and leg together as the grip tightens and shortens with an amazing speed and strength. It won’t be long before the gargoyle loses its balance from the odd position.

As Sullivan proves to be quite agile and avoiding, the creature wastes no time in revealing a new ability, teleporting behind the quick child and instantly wrapping the small form with the tails as its claws move onto his neck and opens its mouth to chomp down onto the child’s face.

Geneva’s water whip slaps into the creature and it howls in pain as a bit of blood pours from what appears to be a small cut. The creature is clearly agitated as it begins to shake violently, standing there and no longer on the attack against the woman for several seconds as a small, dark and purple line forms along the creature’s center in a vertical pattern.

It appears as though the thing is falling apart, splitting in two, or maybe having some violent reaction to the water or pain. The blood is still pouring out from the wound, red as any human’s blood would be.

Temporarily stunned from slamming into the wall, the creature is slowed as Asher moves atop the wall and fires with his bow and arrow. The creature screeches in fury s the arrow hits home in one of its tails, but wastes no time in vanishing and then reappearing above Asher’s form once more, already leaping towards his face again.

This time, it is prepared for an Earth wall, and has prepared a response should the boy try the same trick twice. If not, it will still try to leap and wrap up its intended prey with a dark hunger.

Nymeria’s own enemy falls dead onto the ground. The creature that is currently on top of Taeyrn looks on with a widened eye before releasing him and leaving the man on the ground coughing and clutching at the ground as he struggles to retrieve his life-breath. He struggles to regain his focus as the thing that was on him begins to shake and shudder violently, copying the actions of the creature that stood before Geneva.
Within seconds, both of the creatures have doubled, splitting in half and creating a copy of their selves and making a move once more. Two leap at Geneva while two more leap at Nymeria simultaneously as Taeyrn tries to regain his focus and vision. The area has grown dark and he was almost as good as dead.

In the distance, he can see the strange , feathered creature that had seemed to like Geneva fighting off four on its own, howling and biting at the things as they try to wrap their tails around all of its limbs and trapping it in the same location as it falls and rolls about on the ground.

As Asher loosed an arrow, he spared a moment to look to find Taeyrn, his heart stopping for a moment as he saw one of the creatures pinning him to the ground. Fear - real, cold fear - returned to his heart, but this fear spurred him to action rather than froze his steps.

“Tae!” he yelled, moving to join him, but his moment of distraction was enough for the creature leaping at him to take him entirely by surprise – how did it move so fast? – and he tumbled off his perch as the thing flew into him. Nice going, loser, he thought, dropping his bow and struggling to draw his sword as he attempted to free himself from the creature’s grip.

Gosalyn howled in rage as pain shot behind her shoulder blades as the creature matched her inhuman strength. She inhaled and let loose a torrent of flame from her mouth in the creature's face.

Drios used his tail for balance and pulled his hand to his face and bit into the tail for all he was worth while simultaneously clawing the tail with his talons for all he was worth.

Sullivan's heart rate shot through the roof as the creature wrapped itself around him and he howled in terror, leaping for the water, flying through the air like a bullet.

Nymeria was disgruntled to see the others were still having a hard time with the demonic creatures. Unsure of who to help furst, she watched each person combat the tailed beasts, as well as the beasts unveiling powers of their own. She prepared to help Geneva, who seemed to be taking on two monsters at once, but as she ran over to her pupil, she saw Taeyrn cold on the ground, and two more enemies jumping after her.

Nymeria only had seconds to react, holding up her bloodied arm defensively just before she got tackled. Losing her balance, Nymeria fell onto her back, her arm still held above her head as the other got pinned to the ground by the second creature. Both creatures clawed at Nymeria's upper torso, trying to reach her slightly exposed neck. Nymeria grunted a chuckle, feeling every claw dig into her flesh. With every ounce of her mental strength, Nymeria wrapped a webbing of blood around the creature that was sitting on her pinned arm. She then pushed the creature's neck back, forcing it to relent it its attack, all the while using her bloody arm to block against the other creature.

Geneva is thrilled that her water attacked worked. She watched the creature violently shake. It seems to be falling apart down the middle. However instead of dying the creature splits in half. “Oh crap this is not good.”

She manages to get out as she dodges one of the tentacles. She was not so lucky with the other one. It wraps around her leg tightly. Of course Geneva was on the move at the time. She ends up face first on the ground. Wailele still hovers above her. “Now will you use me?" Geneva cannot feel her foot.

“Form blazing guns.” She yells. Wailele splits into two fiery pistols. Geneva quickly shoots the creature.

Tae looks up as he hears Asher call out his name. He looks up to see another creature leaping at his brother, the thing clinging to his torso and limbs swiftly. The creature that had released him now seems to be focused on Nymeria--both it and its creepy-ass copy. He shudders, now making a stand and pulling out his weapon and slicing through a few of the tails that had remained unused.

The thing screeches as blood poured out, one tail pulling away from Asher's torso to make its way towards Tae. He bends down, grabbing the tail willingly and tugging hard to no avail. The creature does not release his brother and he is too afraid to strike at it in the fear of hitting Asher, instead.

"You've got to get it off of you, I'm gonna get this one off your hand and then you stab up it's...it's stomach thing!" Tae says, moving towards the tails that are wrapped around Asher's sword hand.

As Gosalyn roared with fury, flames coming forth, the creature squeals with its last breath as it is burned--easily burned, in fact--and falling into a black ash as it is terminated by the dragon's breath.

From the pain inflicted by Drios' talons, his prey releases with bloody abandon, clearly upset as it teleports from sight and reappears upon his back. The thing seems determined to take his wings off, as well, moving towards the wings with haste. Due to the damage done to its tails, however, it seems the strength in its pull has been lacking in comparison than before.

Sullivan's body is wrapped more tightly and tightly as the creature moves to sink its teeth into his flesh. The single eye seems to sink into his mind as they fall into water, plummeting into its surface as the creature's grip only tightens from the water's contact. The thing begins to try to choke him.

Nymeria's attackers seem heavy on her doom until the blood webbing comes out. It is then that the second creature howls and flees, making a sound that it none of it or its fellow creatures had made before. The one wrapped within the blood tries to escape with reckless abandon, a panic in its desperate movements as it tries to get away from Nymeria.

The two creatures that had found their way to Geneva find their death ass they are shot. It is then that several of the other creatures make the same sound, all of them now moving to make a retreat as quickly as possible. Most just teleport away, all except the one covered in blood by Nymeria's webbing. It, in fact, seems trapped unless the woman should release it as it panics and scratches at her in fear.

Nymeria struggled to free her hand when one of the creatures made an unusual whooping howl and leaped off of Nymeria's body. The red-eyed woman wanted to feel relieved, but she had a second monster to deal with. She heard the same howl from the other creatures that were fleeing just like the first one. All the while, the creature trapped in Nymeria's blood pulled away frantically, shaking its head violently as its claws repeatedly dug into any surface they struck. Nymeria could feel the blood being tugged out of her body, but she focused on keeping the creature's neck held closely. Somehow, Nymeria's blood prevented the creature from teleporting out the like rest, oddly.

It wasn't long before the creature began swiping its claws at Nymeria's torso. She grunted in pain as her skin felt searing hot where the creature lacerated her. She let out a heavy curse as thinner webbing enveloped the creature's front limbs. Nymeria was using more blood than she wanted to, so she constricted her webbing tightly wherever it gripped as well as using her hands to grip any tails that wrapped around her arms. "Any idea on what to do with this thing!?" She struggled to yell to her group.

When Tae freed his sword hand, Asher snatched it back, reaching for his sword and drawing it, cutting against the creature's gut as he did so. The creature started to pull away from him, starting to flicker like it looked like it was going to teleport away with its companions, and Asher took advantage of the space to jam his sword up through the creature's... torso, area.

The creature solidified again around his sword as he impaled it, making a disgusting shriek as it's teleport was interrupted. Pieces of it flickered in and out of existence, and Asher pulled his sword free and scrambled out from under it, watching it's body glitch in and out of existence as it died.

"Shit," he muttered under his breath, standing up slowly as he managed to get his feet under him again. His hands were trembling. "Sorry," he said to Tae. "You know the plan was supposed to be to help you..." He gave a short, embarrassed laugh, watching as Nymeria struggled with the last one of them, entangled in her web.

It didn't seem Nymeria would be getting any help with the creature on top of her, but at least she received a few suggestions as to what to do with the burden. Nymeria thought she might as well make use of the creature, making spines out of the webbing that restrained the creatures neck. Just as the creature's head dove for Nymeria's neck, her spines found their way into the joint between the head and neck, deeply puncturing the creature's skin. Void of life, the beast slumped onto Nymeria's body. Feeling exhausted, Nymeria shoved the corpse off of her.

"An autopsy sounds like a great idea." Nymeria exhaled. Her blood structures steadily slithered back into the wounds the came from, but Nymeria was in the mood for new blood. She laid on the ground with her arms held somewhat far from her torso. With her eyes closed, she felt her body finally relax. Spurred on by hunger, though, she dragged herself into a sitting position, then a kneeling position over the creature's body. She dug her short blade into its chest and pulled the edge down the length of the torso. Black and red ooze lurched down the creature's body like a lava flow. Nymeria reeled at the sight. Suddenly her appetite wasn't so important.

Nymeria rested on her knees, still facing the opened carcass with frustrated eyes. After releasing a relaxed sigh, Nymeria gathered the strength to stand. She looked the the sky, wishing she had brought her extra supply of blood. Her teammates appeared to be getting their bearings, so the woman kept silent as she gazed out to the horizon. She wasn't sure whether it would be better to move on or stay and rest, but she would be fine with either decision. It wasn't long before she itched to either nap or move out, but she heard a gruff voice coming from nowhere.

 She soon figured out the voice was coming from the winged creature as it told her that she apparently angered someone. "A witch, you say?" She responded. Geneva chimed in, somewhat alleviating Nymeria's sudden irritation. "Thank you, Geneva. Who is 'The Witch'? And why would she send her creatures after us?" Nymeria asked, too tired to convey much inflection in her voice. Her eyes never strayed the sentient beast. She had a feeling things were only going to get more difficult from there.

Asher grimaced as he watched Nymeria dealing with the other thing. "Was that really necessary...?" he muttered to himself as she cut into it, and with a grimace he turned away, looking over at his 'brother.'

Tae was moving towards the other creature, a sad look in his eyes, and Asher hung back, uncertain until he heard the voice in his head. Is this thing mildly telepathic or something?

He looked back over at Nymeria as she asked about the witch. Asher crossed his arms, remaining silent. He had nothing to say that hadn't already been said, quite emphatically by Gosalyn.

The creature looks only at the blood mage, slowly moving it's way into a standing position. It's movements make the injuries all the more obvious, but it seems content to stand all the same.

"The witch is just another witch." The creature says, knowing no other way to explain 'who' she is. "She attacked me and you happened to be in the way. Once I have separated myself from you, she will be unlikely to attack any pillars again. Except for you. She will probably try to kill you."

The creature begins to walk away, limping slowly. It raises up a wing, howling out in pain as it lowers the wing again. Flying would apparently be out of the question for the poor thing. Tae sighs. This is all confusing, but he really doesn't really care for the details. He just wants to go home.

"Okay, well..." Tae says, wondering if they should just continue or not. He also wonders if the animal will even be okay in its current state or even if it will be able to survive. Either way, he knows they can't just stick around here. He still feels sick from the feeling that those creatures left behind.

Nymeria didn't appear to be phased by the words the creature had to bear. Instead, she appeared to be thinking as the sentient beast spoke. After the winged creature finished, Nymeria stroked her chin as her eyes peered towards the ground. She passively listened to Geneva speak afterwards; the woman had a sound idea that Nymeria could agree with.

"I suppose wandering off now while we're hurt and tired would only make our condition worse, unless we got lucky. And you are an invaluable source of information, like Geneva said." Nymeria faced the nameless creature, driven to an almost stoical nature. "Staying here and resting up sounds like our best bet, unless there is a location elsewhere that's safer."
