Elemental Reign Role-Play

(ATTN: FAI, XANDER, OPEN)
Juri smiles slightly.
"Fai..I thank you, for caring about me..But either way I-" She stopped herself, shaking her head. "Never mind.." She smiles. She sighs, wrapping her fingers around her necklace and clutches it tightly. There was a polite knock and the door opened, revealing a servant.
"Lady Juri, dinner is ready. Shall you be joining the rest of the house?" He said politely.
"Yes." Juri nodded, standing up. "Come on, Fai." She followed the servant to the dining hall, making polite conversation with him as they went. Once they arived, they seemed to be the first, the servant politely bowed and left. Juri took her seat and smoothed down her skirt.

[ATTN: Xander, Juri, Fai]

After Xander left, Ares said, "I dunno if I should go..."

"But it'll be fun! There'll be more food there than we've eaten in our entire lives!" Caed exclaimed.

"Maybe you should have been the prince. All I can do is worry..."

"Lighten up! Just let it come naturally, you're an expert at this stuff!"

"I suppose..."

Ares stood up straight and took a deep breath. He tried to push all the worries out of his mind and make himself believe he really was a prince. He started to feel more confident, so he left the room. Out in the hall, all the servants he met bowed to him; it was a surreal experience. One even offered to fix up his hair.

He and Caed explored the mansion for a bit, enjoying their freedom, then decided to try to find the dining hall. It was a bit difficult, since they couldn't read what was written on any of the doors. Eventually, they found it and went in, seeing there were a few people there. They stood awkwardly in the doorway, unsure of what to do next.

(ATTN: XANDER, FAI, ARES, CAED)
Juri looked up to see the Prince and his friend. They seemed to be rather...confused. Which she thought was rather strange. Perhaps they were merely shy, she gave a smile at them.
"Excuse me, why don't you both sit down, we're friendly. Come on, no need to be shy." She invites them, hopefully enticing the royal and his companion to sit. "My name is Juri Wakepa, I come from the earth nation, it is a pleasure to meet you." She knows her manners and gives a bow of her head upon introducing herself.

(Attn: Juri, Fai, Ares)

Xander hears the chimes and proceeds to the dining hall. He was surprised to see everyone already there. I am sorry my father could not be with us tonight. Please everyone take a seat. Xander sits at the head of the table. He motions for the servants to begin serving dinner. It was a lavish affair worthy of the guests present. He remains quiet though not feeling like entertaining. After dinner Xander turns to the servant "I will take my dessert in the study." He bows to the prince and the others. "Please excuse me I have some matters to attend to. Enjoy your dessert."

(ATTN: XANDER, FAI, ARES)
"Well he left awfully quick.." Juri said, watching him leave. She silently ate her meal, only speaking when spoken to. She wasn't in a particularly good mood, but tried to make civil conversation. Her mind wandered elsewhere.

Ares and Caed followed Juri to the table and took their seats. Ares realized this was the woman that Xander had warned him about, though the warning was about her liking low class people. He knew upper class folks disliked people like him, but he didn't realize it was that bad. She seemed like a perfectly good person to him.

The food was the amazing thing either of them had ever had. They ate until they couldn't eat any more; it was a habit, since they had grown up never knowing when they'd get food again. They didn't talk to anyone and kept to themselves.

Xander suddenly got up and left, leaving them there to eat dessert. The pair wolfed that down too. Ares then turned to Juri, figuring he should try to talk to people.

"So your name is Juri, right? What brings you all the way to the Fire nation?" he asked.

(ATTN: OPEN)

Fai quietly munched on a lettuce leaf dipped in some type of light sauce. The perfect vegetarian meal. When dessert came, Fai nearly squealed with delight at the amazing food. She slowly picked up her spoon, taking slow bites. Everything was amazing. "Mmm.." Fai sighed in delight.

(ATTN: ARES)
Juri realized she was being spoken to and looked up at the boy, a warm smile coming to her face.
"Oh, my Uncle is visiting an old friend of his. I asked to come along because it had been a long time since I had been here. Well, I guess that's a silly detail." She gave a small chuckle. "I like to experience new things, meet new people. But enough about me, what do you think of the food. Personally a single dish would have been fine, but well, maybe I'm just simple.."
She takes a bite of the strawberry themed desert in front of her, pudding. She smiled, it was amazing.

[ATTN: Juri]

Ares wanted to say that it was the best food he'd ever had, but a prince wouldn't say that. He tried to appear nonchalant about it and said, "It was good, no complaints here."

He leaned back in his seat and looked around. "It is pretty nice here..."

(ATTN: ARES, FAI)
"It is...isn't it?" Juri smiled slightly, looking around. She glanced at Ares, looking him over. He didn't seem very...Prince-like. But she didn't exactally seem high class herself did she? She looked to Fai and nodded, a signal she was returning to her room.
"Well, I do not know about you all, but I am rather tired." She stood, looking at the others. "I hope you all have a pleasant evening." She smiled once more, pushed her chair back in, and exited the room.
All she had said had been a lie, of course. She needed to get out of here. She planned on sneaking out, just a bit darker and she would be able to. She returned to her room, suprised her Uncle hadn't pestered her about how wonderful the fire nation was.

{Attn: Open}

Xander went to the study to read up on some books. He had to get his mind off of the guests he had. He will be receiving a talking to from his father about how rude he was, especially to the prince. He can't put his finger on it but the prince was acting a bit strange. Maybe it was the way Xander mishandled him. He should have known better though. The royal family are one of the few people who knew what happened.

Xander waits in the study, the door open. He wonders if Juri still does her sneaking out bit. If she does, he will be the first to tell her that she is on her own.

(ATTN: FAI, XANDER, OPEN)
As the sky darkens, Juri quickly changes. Assuming the clothes of a low class member, and scribbiling down a note for Fai and tucking it under the girls pillow. She opens her door silently, and creeps out. The windows were currently to high and gaurded to leap from. So Juri crept down the halls, showing confidence, but also caution. She surveyed every door, every window, until she noticed one was open. She tried to walk past it, expecting it to be empty, only to realize low and behold, of course it had to be Xander in the room.

{Attn: Juri}

"Well, well one would have thought you would have grown out of this phase by now." Xander coos looking up from his book. "Just to let you know I will not be looking for you again. Getting lost in scumville to search for you one time was enough for me." He looks down at the book again. "I would have thought your Uncle would have stopped that nasty habit of yours. You can't save them you know. You can try but they will always be vile people."

[ATTN: Open]

Ares and Caed soon left the dining hall. They walked aimlessly down the hall for a bit in silence.

"Hey, you were pretty good back there," Caed said. "Seemed pretty princely to me."

"You think?" Ares asked. He smiled, if his friend thought it was good then he must have done well.

"I'm so stuffed... Can you believe these people live like this every day?"

Ares stopped. He was happy to be getting this treatment, but he couldn't help but think about his other irrev friends out on the streets. He wished they could have joined in on this too. At the same time, however, Ares knew that soon he'd be in trouble. He would likely be executed for impersonating the prince, if he didn't escape first.

"It's great... Caed, we're gonna need to get out of here," Ares said solemnly.

"But we're having such a great time..." Caed argued.

"You forget that I'm not really a prince! When they catch us we'll be killed!"

The pair continued to argue in the middle of the hall.

(ATTN: XANDER)
Juri looks at him calmly, her blood was simply BOILING but she wouldn't show anyone.
"The 'habit' of being a decent human being is one that a person can never outgrow, Xander. One may choose to lose it, or bury and destroy it, but one does not out grow it. Also, if you didn't realize, I had to save your sorry ass. You didn't help me at all and if you did, I didn't ask for it. My uncle was the one who sent you and what I do does not concern you. I do not ask for your help." She said, trying to sound cold, but anger ebbed in her voice. " Vile people..? So then Xander, aren't they like you? People can do nothing about what social class they are put in. They can cry and struggle, but no one will care. I hope you realize that." With that, Juri was gone, leaping out the window and dissapearing into the light of the fading sun.

(ATTN: JURI, ARES, CAED, OPEN)

Fai finished her dessert, giving a small nod to the two boys. "I bid you good-night." Fai said quietly with a smile. She picked up her glider that was resting at her side. Fai needed to keep a closer eye on Juri due to the Five Nation Lords. It wasn't safe anywhere. Fai quietly knocked on the door of hers and Juri's room, slipping in. Fai gave a smile and placed her glider on her bed. "You're not sneaking out again, are you?" Fai asked quietly.

{Attn: Ares, Open}

Xander smirks closing his book. He returned it to the bookshelf and leaves the study. He is going to retire in his room for the evening. He walks down the hallway hearing raised voices. He doesn't understand what they are saying.

He turns the corner to see the Prince and his friend arguing. He takes a firm hold of Caed's arm looking at Ares. "Your majesty, is there a problem? I can have him escorted off the premises if you wish."

(ATTN: OPEN)
Juri briskly ran through the streets. The taste of freedom dancing on her tounge. She raced through the streets, smile on her face,.

[ATTN: Xander]

"Ah, no need for that," Ares replied. "We argue quite often. It's nothing serious."

He shot Caed a look, and Caed shut his mouth.

"Anyway, I should be going back to the castle soon. My dad probably wants me back there," Ares said. He saw the disappointment in Caed's eyes, but this was the best chance to escape.

{Attn: Ares}

Xander bows politely "Very well my lord, shall I command my carriage, or will you be trying to sneak back in?"

[ATTN: Xander]

"Sneaking. Definitely sneaking," Ares said. He was glad this guy just went along with anything he said, it made it pretty easy.

{Attn: Ares}

Xander nods at Ares. "Very well my lord. I shall bid you good night then."

Xander walks down the hall out of earshot of the Prince and his companion. He grabs the nearest servant to him. "Please alert one of the guards and have him follow the prince back to the castle. I know he wants to be sneaky, but I cannot let anything happen to him."

Xander hands the servant two small pouches of money. "One is for you the other is for the guard. Please tell the guard to be discreet unless it is necessary for him not to be."

Xander continues to his room. He changes into his nightshirt. He is both physically and mentally exhausted. He tries to fall asleep.

[ATTN: Open]

Ares and Caed watched Xander leave, then nodded to each other. They walked back through the large house until they came to the familiar hallway they had started out in. They soon found the door to the servants' hall, and went through it until they made it outdoors. Ares took a deep breath, all the pressure leaving him.

"Well, this is gonna make a good story for everyone, huh?" Ares asked, smiling.

"Sure is!" Caed agreed. "They won't believe us!"

"Ah, but I still have the clothes to prove it. And I plan on keeping these."

The two went back down the back alleys they had come through, being sure to avoid the guards that were hanging around.

The guard picked by the servant was one of the Montenegro most loyal guards. He had just started the position after the incident. Now years later he moved up to the captain. He understood Xander's request. He watches the two boys leave the manor and head outside. However they went in the direction opposite of the castle. What is that young man up to now? He moves quietly, in undercover gear best suited to the task.

[ATTN: Open]

The boys eventually made it to the irrev corner of the city; a dirty, forgotten part of town where a group of homeless men, women, and children lived. It was every person for themself, but they did look out for each other. It was like a miniature community.

"Hey guys!" Caed called.

"You won't believe what happened!" Ares exclaimed. "They mistook me for a prince!"

That got everyone's attention. They began to crowd around the pair, skeptical at first but then they saw what Ares was wearing. The boys told their tale, from start to finish, exaggerating and embellishing in places.
